Rizu POV
"Ugh...."
I looked over at the man who is all bandaged up and covered with a blanket. He slowly opened his eyes and blinked a couple times.
As I saw this I made my way closer to the man. "How are you feeling?" I ask and he turns his head towards me. "Ah..It's you again..Am I alive?" he asks me and turns his head to look back up at the ceiling.
"Yes, your still alive. Right now you are in a building that I found. So we are still on Minion island." I tell him and he continues to stare up at the ceiling. "I see...Law!" He yells and trys to sit up causing me to grab him and lay him back down.
"Please do not get up! Your still very injured....I assume Law will be alright. Though the navy will be staying here for a couple days to do investigation. I was able to get some more supplies for you and was able to take you to shelter for the time being." I inform Rosinante.
He stares up at me. "I see. Thank you....Rizu right?" he asks earning a nod from me. I sigh out and look outside, sitting down beside him.
"So how are you feeling?" I ask him again. He glances at me and smiles slightly. "In pain but I guess that's a good thing considering that I'm still alive." he jokes. I look over at him and sigh out slightly. "I guess so.....So, what are you going to do now?" I ask him since he saved Law but considering that he is still alive that Doffy guy might not be happy.
Rosinante hums a bit before speaking "I'm not sure. I'm worried about Law though, I wonder how he is doing..." he says and I look at him taking in his facial features as he worries about the boy.
"You really care about him don't you?" I say and he smiles brightly. "Of course!" he says immediately. I continue to look at him "Is he your son? Or something?" I ask him and watch his face turn into a happy smile. "No....but he is kinda like a son to me I guess." I nod my head.
'Son...and...Father love and their bond...How nice.' I say to myself smiling bitterly and sadly underneath my mask. 'I want that as well.....Maybe one day, I can get him to acknowledge me one day and receive his love.'
Rosinante turns his head and looks at me. "What are you doing on an island like this? Much less on a mission like this? It's dangerous especially dealing with pirates, you know." he asks me while raising his brow. I turn to look at him and I clench my hands a bit. "Um...Like I told you before. I've been with the Navy for a while and I tend to move bases quite often like every couple years to learn under a new officer or higher ups. Though this time I choose a base here in the North Blue and wanted to come on this mission. I guess you could label me as a marine in training." I say to him and he continues to stare at me.
"Is something the matter?" I say to him and he opens his mouth. "Why do you wear that mask? I saw you take it off earlier when you treated me the first time." I look away from him and touch the mask. "Sorry you had to see that. It was easier to work and without the mask so I could see the wounds since I didn't know how bad they were." I say and look out the cracked window.
He blinks his eyes and holds a look of confusion. "Why are you sorry?? It was fine that you took it off." he says. I turn back to look at him. "It's nothing then. I just have some reasons why I wear it." I say and change the topic.
"Rosinante-san. The marines will leave in a day or two. Do you want to come back with us, since I heard that you are a commander. Or do you want to stay here and go off on your own?" I ask wondering what this man will do.
He turns his head to looks back up at the ceiling. "I wonder.....I'm not too sure at the moment. Doffy will surely kill me if I see him again and if Sengoku finds out that I'm here than I'll be in trouble for sure. But at the moment I just want Law to be safe."
Silence takes over leaving us to our thoughts and my mind wanders.
Flashback
'Hurry!! HURRY RIZU! Don't let this man die!' I yell to myself making my hands work faster, pulling out each bullet, stitching up each hole and bandaging them. 'You'll live trust me! Believe that you will live!'
I quickly moved onto the next bullet wound. 'Three more to go! Just need to stop the bleeding as well!' I move quickly taking out the bullets, stitching the wound, and bandaging it up.
A little while later. I huff out warm air and clean my hands off. I put my head near him chest to hear him still breathing and his heart still pumping. 'Thank goodness.' I say to myself in relief that he is still alive.
'Now what to do now.' I look around the area to see that it's empty at the moment and in the distance I hear shouts of men and cannon balls. "I need to get you somewhere safe." I pack up the medical supplies that I used after cleaning them and moved Rosinante over while I go check for an empty house that no one will be in or come by.
Once I found one I rushed back to Rosinante and draped his arms around my neck and hauled him over to the house. I opened the door with my feet and shut the door once we got inside and layed him down in the corner away from the draft. I looked over at him and fixed his clothing while wrapping his fluffy black feathered jacket closer to him.
I sigh out and look out the window, waiting to go back to the ship and check back in.
As the sounds of fighting decreased and soon stopped, I looked back at Rosinante before I left the house.
Leaving the building I looked around to see if anybody was near by. Seeing that nobody was I continued my way down to the docks where our ship was.
Walking in the snow for a good 15 minutes the ship came into view, seeing marines standing out and boarding the ship. I rubbed my hands and realized that I left the medical kit back at the house. I sighed. 'They probably won't notice or care.'
As I boarded the ship I saw men scurring around and some men tending to a boy giving him another blanket and checking his injuries. I raised my eye brow underneath my mask. 'So that's the boy that we picked up and found.' I made my way around deck.
"Hey girl!" a man called out to me and I turned around to see a man holding a cup of warm liquid. "Give this to the boy over there." he said handing me the cup before making his way off the deck to do something else.
I held the cup in both my hands warming them up as I made my way to the boy. He was huddled up in a ball holding on to the blanket. He was shaking from the cold only wearing thin clothing and he had a scar on his chin that created an 'X'
I stopped in front of him and he looked up at me cautiously. He face showed fear, caution, wariness. I crouched down in front of him and held out the cup to him. "I'm not going to hurt you. No one here will." I said and he continued to look at me. "Drink this, it'll make you warm." I said softly.
I reluctantly took the cup out of my hands as his hands shook and drank the liquid slowly. I watched him a bit, tilting my head to the side. 'A kid, what's a kid doing on this island?' I thought to myself and realized that I wasn't much different.
"Do you feel better?" I ask him and he looks up from the cup to look at me. He nods his head slowly. "I'm Rizu. What's your name?" I ask him. He slowly opened up his mouth "M-my n-name is Drake." I nod my head. "Nice to meet you." I say back in return and decide to sit down by him. As I do so he flinches a bit.
"How old are you?" he asks me softly. A little surprised that he talked to me, I looked at him and said "I'm 11. You?" he nods his head and takes a sip from his cup.
"I'm 17..." he replys back and I nod my head. "Y-you seem mature for your age..." he silently says.
I hum a bit at that. "Hmm. I don't really know. I've never been around kids my age and I've been mostly around adults most of the time. So I guess hanging around adults made me seem like it." I explain to him.
I glance at him through my mask and see him shiver still. I get up from my spot next to him and walk away. He looks up and watches me walk away. Drake looks down and stares down at the cup seeing his reflection.
I walk into the cabin portion of the ship and looks through some crates and find the thing I'm looking for. I grab a couple items and bring it out, walking back over to Drake.
I take one of the items in my hand and wrap another blanket around Drake startling him by my touch. He looks back up at me and blinks a couple times. "You'll catch a cold if you don't stay warm. Plus these men here are busy and there's really no room in the cabin, they stocked up on some supplies and I don't think you wanna be down in the musty room at the bottom." I say and pat his head like how Garp pats my head.
He flinches a bit at my touch again but soon relaxes. "Drake, I'll be leaving the ship for a while." I tell him and I watch as his eyes get wider "Why?" his face shows concern and worried expression is present.
"I need to finish some stuff that I had on the island. But if anyone asks where I am or something of that sort just tell them that I'm on the island helping around. I'll be back in a couple hours." I say and rub his head one more time before I start walking away.
As I head to the edge of the ship, I stop to ask a marine the schedule of when we're leaving and what are plan in. Once he gave me a brief run through I walked down and glanced back at Drake seeing him clutching onto the blankets to keep him warm and holding the cup in the other hand as he watched me leave.
I turned around and waved at him as I made my way off the ship, carrying supplies and things that I need for Rosinante.
Flashback End.
"Hey Rosinante." I say breaking the silence. "I was wondering this Sengoku person. Is he the same Fleet Admiral Sengoku?" I ask him remembering that Garp has mentioned him to me before.
Rosinante nods his head and looks over at me. "Why?" he asks while raising a brow. I turn my head so that I could get a good look at him.
"Rosinante. Since you said you would get in trouble with Sengoku because you are here. That means that you may have gone against his orders or something of the sort. Plus I don't know how much trouble you will be in."
"Plus too we'll be leaving the morning after tomorrow, you might want to leave the island right? So you'll need to get a boat to leave the island and I thought I could get you that boat for you. But since you'll get in trouble if you come along with us and it'll be trouble if that Doffy guy knows that you're alive. But I'm also assuming that you'll probably go looking for Law. So you should stay low for now, I think and you would probably need this." I say and pull out a mask that I made during my time waiting for him to wake up.
I hand the mask over to him and he takes it and observes it. As he does that I continue talking "You might also want to change your clothes and use a fake name when you leave the island. So I also brought a change of clothes for you to change into, to get out of those torn and bloodied ones. Hopefully they fit you and they should be good enough till you get to another island." I say and dig the clothes out the small bag of supplies that I brought along.
I stop talking and look over at the man next to me. I watch as he looks at the mask in his hand and looks back at me. Rosinante looks up at me with tears threatening to fall out of his eyes. My eyes widened at this. "Rosinante-san! What's wrong? Are you in pain? Do you need me to check and change your bandages? Though I did that a while ago though." I say to him and get up from my spot on the floor.
Before I could walk away he grabs me and pulls me into a hug. I flinch and become stiff at his gesture, but I slowly relax in his hold. "Rosinante-san?" I question and feel his tears fall down onto me. "Y-your so sweet and kind! Taking care of me and helping me with all of this! Your such a kind girl! Thank you!" he says and I smile under my mask. I lift my arms and wrap them around him returning the hug.
I hum a bit and remove my arms to pat his head. He lets go of me and smiles. He grabs the mask again and inspects it then looks back at me. I tilt my head. "Is something wrong?" I ask and he looks back from the mask to my face.
"This mask, it's similar to yours. Did you buy multiple from the same store?? How come you carry multiple ones??" He wonders while looking at the mask in his hands. I shake my head.
"No, there not from the same store. I made them myself. They look similar because I like to use a similar style on all the masks that I make, but I change them up a bit. Your's I just made while you were resting, I found some good wood and carved it and made it to fit you." I told him and looked at his face. Only to see his eyes sparkle. "Wow! That's so cool Rizu!" he says excitedly.
I blink a couple times under my mask. "Uh...It's nothing much." I say and glance around the room seeing that the sky was getting darker. I stopped at a small bag that I placed in the corner and walked over to it.
Once I had the bag I walked over to the other side and grabbed the medical kit. I made my way back over to Rosinante. "Rosinante-san. In this bag are some food that I was able to grab from the ship. I'm sorry that it's not much but hopefully it'll be enough for now. And here's the medical kit, I placed new bandages in it, so if you want to change your bandages you can. Though I put on new bandages for you, so you should be fine for now." I say and place them down right next to him.
Only to hear some sniffles from the man. I look up to see him sniffling and some tears again. "Your such a good girl Rizu!! So caring!! I'm so grateful to have met you! You not only saved my life but helping me as well!" he said while smiling even though there were tears falling down. He reached out and rubbed my head.
I smiled fondly under my mask and patted his head back. "I'm glad that your still alive. You need to live for Law right?" I say and lay him back down. I continue "But I need to go back." I say and start making my way to the door.
Before I leave I turn around "Hey Rosinante-..." I stop my sentence as he looks over at me. "Umm...Rosinante-san..May I call you Rosi-san??" I say and have a bashful looking face underneath which he can't see.
He smiles brightly and has a huge grin on his face. For some reason it almost looks creepy, though it may be from the makeup or the fact that he got beat up. "Sure." he said with that smile.
I nod my head. "Well Rosi-san, I'll be seeing you tomorrow. I'll try to be here for the majority of the day so we can work out our plan and figure out what you're going to do. Try to get some rest." I say leaving through the door.
I walk out the building and look up into the sky seeing that it was getting darker than before. Picking up my paste heading back to the boat.
As I walked up to the boat and boarded I saw an older marine woman speaking to the men as they saluted. Probably telling them orders before the day ends. I quietly made my way on and hid behind a man who was carrying a crate. I walked on deck for a while looking where Drake was.
To see him sleeping laying against the side of the ship clutching onto his blankets to keep warm. I walk over to him and pull the blankets up higher and sit down next to him. I watch over the group of marines as they continue to stand their getting directions from the higher up.
I lean against the side of the ship and slowly dose off to sleep.
3rd POV
"Alright men dismissed." Vice admiral Tsuru said to the group of men in front of her. "Yes!" they reply back with. She looks over the deck and stops at the two children she sees on deck. "You." she says to a soldier passing by her.
He stops and salutes to her "Yes?" he says. She motions over to the two kids sleeping on the side of the boat. "There was going to be a report about one kid being picked up by us on the island but why is there two. Did someone not report that they found a girl as well?" she asked with a raise of the brow.
The male soldier shook his head. "Ma'm, that girl came along on this mission. Apparently she was granted permission from Vice Admiral Garp and she is also his student. Though for this mission she is allowed to watch and look around the island." he said.
Tsuru nodded her head and looked at the girl. She looked over the girl and saw that she was wearing a full on mask. "Garp..." she mumbled with furrowed eyebrows. "Just what are you thinking?" she said. Tsuru looked behind her motioning to the lady marines behind her. "Take those two children and bring them abroad on out ship. They'll get some rest there, since it's smaller here." she said. The women nodded and made their way over to the children.
Once they grabbed the girl and the boy, Tsuru turned away and started to walk off the ship. "Let's go." she said and they followed her off the ship and onto hers.
