Chapter 4 The Looted Merchant Ship

"Okay, Luffy, let go of the magic hand!" Alan said firmly, realizing that it wouldn't be suitable to give Luffy something too dangerous or unreliable.

"Hehe, don't be so stingy," Luffy replied excitedly, jumping to the stern of the boat. "Let me have some fun!"

Alan stood his ground. He couldn't catch Luffy, who was unpredictable, but he could issue commands to the Teigu and the "parasitic Gu" that obeyed him. He ordered the magic hand to return to him. As the creator of these imperial tools, Alan had taken precautions to prevent them from getting out of control or falling into the wrong hands.

Alan pointed out the noise in the distance and asked Luffy if he noticed it. Luffy turned his curious gaze towards the source of the noise and was surprised to see a luxurious merchant ship being attacked by pirates. The ship was filled with commotion, shouts, and occasional gunfire.

Alan, having spent many years in the East as a magician, was unfazed by such scenes. He explained that even in the supposedly peaceful East Blue, there were numerous troublesome pirates. He attributed this to the world government's aggressive nature and their exploitation of the sea and its people.

The world government saw the sea as their domain and treated the kingdoms and people as mere commodities. They collected tribute from allied countries and oppressed non-member countries, forcing them to pay exorbitant taxes. This created a vicious cycle where some people turned to piracy out of desperation or a desire for adventure.

Pirates in the East Blue were relatively weak compared to those in other sea areas, but they still posed a threat. Luffy's eyes lit up at the thought of finding delicious food and meat on the merchant ship. His rubbery arm extended towards the ship, intending to catch it.

Before Alan could stop him, Luffy's arm stretched several hundred meters, capturing the pirate-attacked merchant ship. Luffy then attempted to catch Alan, but Alan, anticipating Luffy's actions using Observation Haki, evaded his grasp.

Frustrated, Luffy called out to Alan, realizing that he misunderstood his intention. He wanted to share the food he had stored, including jerky and other supplies. Alan, being a magician who had traveled extensively, carried various provisions and equipment, including generators and refrigerators. He had even created a special Teigu using his Paramecia Devil Fruit ability, which allowed him to store and shrink objects in a pocket-like space.

With these provisions, Alan had accumulated a significant amount of supplies, making him well-prepared for situations like this. He had stored them in his space-like Teigu, which served as a storage unit for materials, experimental items, and other Teigu.

Alan sighed and shook his head, watching Luffy fly towards the merchant ship. He couldn't help but think that Luffy's impulsive nature would always keep things interesting on their journey.
