Ch 45 - Velvet Resort

That makes things much harder for me especially because I take advantage of the dark to do a lot of activities during the night but now it seems like my plans will have to be put on hold. However, I couldn't accept that! I needed to become much stronger much faster and I would be damned if some bright light in the sky would stop me.

Picking up my speed I had a face full of confidence as I moved towards the Velvet Resort. It didn't take all that long before I appeared in front of the huge building. Yet, before I did anything I pulled out the device Julia gave me so that I had a way to contact her.

Supplying some of my mana into the object I delivered the message, 'I fought with the people who are watching over me, can you get me a room in the hotel?'

It didn't even take a second before a response came back and a satisfied smile appeared on my face.

'Yes,' was all that the message said and that was all the confirmation I needed. Thus, without any more thoughts, I moved toward the two guards I recently had a confrontation with.

"Hello," I said with a bright smile as I turned my head slightly to the side.

The two guards instantly realized who I was as their conversation came to a halt.

"Noah! Do you have business with Julia today?" The first guard who recognized me the first day asked before a cold sweat broke across his face. "Wait, I don't believe Julia is here at the moment."

I was surprised that he suddenly got nervous but it turned out he just thought I was going to talk with Julia rather than actually stay in the building.

"Oh, that's fine, I wasn't looking for her anyway, I will be staying here for a while so make sure to do a good job guarding the entrance," I said, calming the man's nerves.

Both the guards gave a slight bow before allowing me to enter without the mishap that happened last time needing to occur for a second time.

As soon as I entered I was met with the luxury of the hotel once again. I didn't really care to look around anymore since I already got a fair understanding the first time I came.

Wanting to get set up as soon as possible so that I could go about the rest of my day I went towards the reception desk that I ignored the last time.

As I approached the desk a young man came to greet me before I could even reach the stand. He went out of his way to leave the desk and make his way over to me.

'It seems like Julia is very thorough,' I thought complimenting her in my head since I didn't have to bother explaining the situation.

"Young Mast–" The man tried to greet me only to see that I cut him off by raising my hand.

"Just call me Noah, honorifics remind me of the political lessons I was forced into learning," I answered.

This confused the poor receptionist but he had seen many different kinds of people enter the hotel and having someone who wanted to be called by their first name was not an anomaly.

"As you wish," he said, giving a deep bow.

I didn't bother to correct the man for bowing because I was thinking back to previous memories where I promised myself that I wouldn't take the political matters I learned and apply them to life. Yet here I was standing in front of a much older, more elegant man who was treating me with the utmost respect.

"Tsk, just take me to my room."

"As you wi–"

I cut him off this time with my demonic murder intent.

His whole body froze on the spot and the singular middle aged woman who was in the lobby straight up passed out.

The guards outside felt the intense effects as a weight was pressing down on their shoulders causing them to shudder.

Yet, the both of them looked at each other not daring to enter the building because they knew who was causing a scene and they very much valued their lives.

"Stop with the formal actions and speech," I spoke, making sure the man knew that I had a short fuse.

Understanding quickly the man nodded his head up and down even though the habit of wanting to bow in that situation was very strong.

"Great!" I said with a smile withdrawing the intent and removing the pressure off of everyone.

The man silently led me to my room. We had to cross a bunch of guards like the last time and a red card was even used.

As soon as I got to my room and the receptionist pointed it out I opened the door and slammed it in his face, not allowing him to finish asking me questions.

The inside was decorated amazingly and it was by far the fanciest place I've ever lived in this world, not that I have much to compare it to. I mean I've lived a huge part of my life in a run-down village that barely had a roof.

Not caring for the rich decorations within the building I looked around the room just to memorize the surroundings in case something happened.

There was a singular queen size bed that looked like it could swallow me due to the comparison of my size and the bed. Next to the bed was a nightstand with a magic-infused lamp that had two drawers for storage.

Most of the room was open yet full of golden objects that only added to the value of the room rather than the sentimental feeling.

Across the room was a dresser where there were three sets of clothing which were all white and I had no plans of wearing them.

Finally, off in the corner was a door and when I opened it there was a bathroom which was the first realistic bathroom I've seen since I've come to this world.
