Episode 2: academy exam (2)

- the next day

"Good morning students, I have gathered everyone here for the third and final part of the exam. This exam will test your ability to use your skills and weapon styles. The exam will be a test of combat. You will be tested against a goblin, just like in the third part of the magical attribute test. But unlike the last part of the magical attribute test, you can use any weapons and skills in the combat test.

"Remember that it will not count as a failure if you do not manage to defeat the goblin. All we want is to see the skills and techniques that you can use. So make sure to put your all into the exam.

"The 1st group of students will come forward. The rest of the students will have to move behind the barriers."

"I guess it is my turn."

"Good luck, Ryujin."

"thanks, Akuma."

"Welcome, what is your name."

"My name is Ryujin."

"Nice to meet you, Ryujin. I will be testing your abilities."

"Okay"

"Let's start the test"

Ryujin wields his sword and uses the fire style to cover his sword with fire magic.

"Not bad, this is an advanced skill that can be considered a high level spell."

"I will now summon a goblin"

- A goblin appears in front of Ryujin.

"Let's begin."

"fire style, second technique blazing cut."

he defeats the goblin in the matter of seconds. even though goblin is one of the weakest wild beast it is still considered good skill for someone of his age. 

"I see, even though the fire style is most common sword style, i am impressed by your swordsmanship. "

"Thank you."

"Please wait here while we complete the other exams."

"I am curious to know how Akuma did on the exam. I guess I will check his ranking and see how he did."

"seems like I still have a long way ahead of me. Akuma's ranking is higher than mine."

- the next day

"Students, we will announce the results of the exam. The results are average of all 3 of the exams. The students who have ranked between 1st and 10,000th will be accepted by the academy.

"Please congratulate the following 10,000 students. Remember this is just the start of your journey, you will learn countless things at the academy which you might not have even imagined, this includes magical spells, weapon techniques, various skills and knowledge regarding them. 

"The rest of the students can still apply next year and try to pass the exams. If you want to hide your rankings from others you can do so, please go towards your dorm rooms. Your dorm room number will be provided when you give your name at the dorm entrance."

"Ryujin, let's go."

"Yes, let's go and see our dorms."

both of their dorms were in different dormitories, Ryujin was in number 6 and akuma was in number 2.

Regardless both of them go towards the dorm and decide to rest for now. 

- the next morning

Ryujin is walking towards the training hall for his practice when he suddenly hears someone scream for help. 

He goes towards the direction the sound came from.

There he saw a girl surrounded by 3 men with weapons.

"Hey you 3, what do you think you are doing??"

"Get lost if you don't want to get hurt, kid."

"I asked you what are you three doing?"

"He looks like a commoner! How dare he talk back to a baron! guys teach him a lesson."

The man who seemed to be the leader of the 3 came forward and said,"Kid, if you don't want to die just leave the scene. I will let you live if you do so."

"Hah! I am not scared of you, and I won't allow you to cause trouble for innocent people."

"Fine then, don't blame me for not giving you a chance."

The 3 men start walking towards Ryujin with their weapons in hand.

Ryujin quickly takes care of them using the combination of his sword techniques and lighting dash skill.

"You bastard, I will kill you for this."

The leader of the men tries to attack Ryujin but was unable to, because he was beaten badly by Ryujin.

"Let's go, you two."

"How can we just run away after this humiliation."

"I said let's go, or are you two going to try and fight him."

"Damn you, kid."

They leave the scene.

"Are you okay miss, are you injured?"

"I-i am fine, thank you for saving me.."

"I am glad that you are safe, I will be going now."

"W-wait, can I know your name? I am Izumi."

"I am Ryujin."

"Thanks once again for helping me."

"No problem, I will take my leave now."

"Okay, please take care."

"You too, Izumi ."

Ryujin arrives at the training area, he was still thinking about those 3 bastards. He then decides to take his anger out on the training dummy.

He starts swinging his sword violently. He was practicing the "dark style" sword technique's 1st form. 

He was swinging his sword with all his might, when he suddenly heard someone say,"Wow, it seems like there is someone here with a lot of potential."

Ryujin immediately stops and turns around to see who was talking to him.

He was surprised when he saw who it was, it was headmaster of the academy. Ryujin bowed down and said,"Greetings, headmaster satoshi."

"Please rise, young one. I am not here to talk about formalities. I am here to talk to you regarding your future."

"What do you mean, Headmaster?"

"Do not worry, I was just passing by plus the headmaster does meet everyone who gets enrolled in first couple of weeks anyways. I was impressed by your dedication."

"Thank you, sir."

"Have you decided on which department you will be enrolling in?"

"I was planning on enrolling in the swordsmanship and magic department, headmaster."

"haha, that would be perfect for you, good luck on your student life here at the academy."

"Thanks a lot headmaster."

'Well, I guess I will continue practicing.
