Prophecy and Prejudice

As the Archduke, Tempest, Barbara and Archie sat down in the Committee, the Archduke opened a window and allowed several archangels to accompany him. 

I have returned your lost sheep to you, now speak candidly, what did you do to the Theocracy?

Simply put, we wiped them off the map. The Ghost of Ottawa left clear instruction, "Do not attempt to appease nations who's only goal is the wealth of their upper class." Slavery deep rooted in the Theocracy, a practice we outlawed years ago. 

I see... Tell me. I've heard much about this "Ghost" of yours. How does he compare to my Archangels?

To be frank, he was no angel nor was he an actual spirit. How would I say this... He was like a contract demon. Rather than take souls, all he asked for was loyalty. He was overly protective in most wholesome and gruesome ways. 

I see. So would you say he was a just leader?

More than that. He was the embodiment of a hero torn apart and made into a monster. However, with that said, he never brazenly attacked anyone who didn't seek to harm his people. 

Excellent! However.... This news will not reach you well. Other nations see your leader as something different. Tell me, has King Zane told you about the Prototype Prophecy?

Not that I'm aware of. 

In essence, it was foretold of a death of a hero, a hero who had been torn apart. You see, we were watching the battle between the Ghost of Ottawa and his mother. We and the Archangels have concurred that he is the hero of that prophecy. If we are right, he will return when we need him most, but not as a hero.

Let's say I believed you for a second, which I don't, but if you are right, what would he return as?

A villain unlike any this world or yours has ever seen.

Tempest leaned back in their chair, their facial expressions unchanged. 

Tell me something, why have you told me this?

Consider it a warning. Should he return, and your nation return to his side, you shall become enemies with the entire Western Continent. Now then! I am dying to try this "New Chalet" I've heard so much about. 

Now firstly, we aren't friends, don't make a mistake on that subject. Now secondly, we will take any form of threats as direct and with malice. We pride ourselves on being "The Friendly Nation", but do not get it twisted, if the Ghost of Ottawa is to return, it will be as a hero. 

The Archduke smiled faded and became upset. I see, I shall inform the other Western Nations of your position. 

As Tempest watched the Archduke leave with Lux, everyone else had the same expression. 

Archie, if you don't mind, would you get Juno for me?

Right away. Is there... any reason?

I want to see if Juno has any ideas on this. 

As Archie left to get Juno, Tempest stood up and looked out the window of the Committee office.
