New Ottawa in Peril

As tensions grew between Ashfeld and New Ottawa, Tempest and the Counsel kept at the Articles of Separation. Each day Lady Reina hadn't publicly apologized only added to the New Ottawan unrest. King Zane went on publicly to state he is appalled by the remarks made by Lady Reina.

Tempest made sure to make a statement to try and calm down New Ottawa. As the days passed, Ashfeld began to divide as the commoner factions aligned with the King while other nobles and royals began allying with the Lady Reina. As time passed, Lady Reina staged a coupe. King Zane and a few of his court fled to New Ottawa for sanctuary, while Lady Reina began the process of declaring war on New Ottawa and any who dared defy her. 

As the next month went by Lady Reina turned the once free Ashfeld into a full on dictatorship. New Ottawa had their troops stacked and staggered across the border of their two nations. Tempest kept a trying to keep the people of New Ottawa safe while maintaining the option of diplomacy.

Zane, what the hell happened?

Many of the royalists that backed Lady Reina were in agreement with my father that New Ottawa was supposed to be underneath us. However, the commoners and a few nobles sided with me taking your side as we have seen what you are capable of. However, the Western Continent has begun asking questions as to the fate of the Church of Humanity. I held them off, but I have no doubt that Lady Reina has told them the fate of the Church and the Theocracy. 

Seems to me we are fucked either way. I'll send a message to Demon Lord Kazuto a....

Before Tempest could finish, Lux burst through the Committee Chambers doors in a panic.

Lord Tempest! Scouts have identified an large group moving towards New Ottawa from the West!

We just can't catch a break. Have Blades get the O-60 tanks out to the Western Gates. I want planes in the sky as well. Let's just hope things don't get dicey. 

New Ottawa alarms were blaring as Tempest arrived at the gates.

Lux, tell me we have some good news.

I'm afraid not my lord. It appears they have a delegation and an armed force. 

Great... All tanks, raise barrels, all guards and soldiers, make weapons ready. Get ready for anything. 

As the tanks point their massive barrels at the gate and the soldiers and guards took aim, a lone rider arrived at the gates.

Hold, I am herald to the Western Nation Archduke Desoclease. We seek an audience with the leader of New Ottawa. 

Tell your Archduke to have his soldiers to stand down as a sign of good faith. Once they have stood down, we shall open our gates.

As the herald rushed back to the Archduke's envoy, his soldiers stood down, and the gates of New Ottawa slowly opened and the O-60 tanks, backed up and lined up. 

As the royal coach arrived at the gates, Tempest and Barbara awaited the Archdukes arrival. As the Archduke enters New Ottawa, he looks around and smiles.
