Chapter 1: Mysterious book, Mysterious sword

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Ok class dismissed the teacher said as the final bell for school rang. The students immediately started packing they're things to leave school and among them was Arthur. Arthur was a normal kid with a normal life, he has a bulb cut with black hair and blue eyes with glasses, he had two best friends, Vicky and Dan, and at home he had his childhood friend Amy, he was known in class as mr nice guy as he always tried to help others, he wasn't bullied but always got beat up because he would stand up for those who where bullied.

To his friends he was known by another name mr hero, he would always watch and talk about super heros and fantasy heros, he always dreamed that one day he would become a hero, but sadly that wasn't possible, super heros stayed in comic books and fantasy novels, which was why arthur always buried his head in novels.

Hey Arthur, we're going to the arcade, are you coming? Dan asked

umm I'm not sure, I wanted to check out the library again today

uhh your always at the library, today your spending the whole day with us Vicky said dragging Arthur to come along, off they went from school to the arcade, they played games till the evening then went they're seperated ways back home, on getting home Arthur was scolded by his mother for coming home late

Cassie was Arthur's twin sister, unlike him she was popular and her cute face, big but cute eyes and small figure made her the adoration of many boys, seniors and juniors alike, she never really talked to him because to her he wasn't in the same class or status as she was

Arthur changed his clothes and got downstairs but was quickly sent back up to call his sister

but mom you know she doesn't listen to me

your the elder so you get her down here, that's your responsibility

with slow steps Arthur waked up to his sisters room

Cassie mom's calling, dinner is ready

I'm coming in

opening the door slowly he saw his sister busy with her phone and a head set on

so like he was totally checking me out today I couldn't believe it

so what are you gonna do, are you gonna give him a chance

no way, I don't wanna come off as cheap or too easy, I'll let him chase me for a bit. Removing the head set Arthur finally got her attention

hey what the hell is your problem

it's time for dinner, mom sent me to get you

give me my head set back

come down stares and I'll give it to you

no give it back

come and get it then

running away from his sister Arthur ran downstairs where she finally joined them. The next day was a Saturday so no school, normally people would take this time to lazy around or hang out with friends which was what a girl wanted to do as she went to her neighbors house

he's at the library isn't he

you already know where to find him so off you go

Arthur was at the library as usual, he got bored pretty quickly so he would always be at the library looking for fantasy books to read, while searching he stumbled upon a big book he hadn't seen before and the name caught his attention

hmm? Star of Rex, a strange name, he opens the book and started reading

Are you selfless enough to fight for the oppressed and protect the weak. Are you strong enough to relinquish your power

huh? what kind of intro is this, he flipped to the next page but there was nothing, nothing at all in any of the pages, the book was blank, huh? is something wrong with this book, he looked at the writing on the first page again, A hero fights for the weak and oppressed, that's what a hero does but this last part, thinking back to the novels he read, they always ended after the hero killed the villain, yh I guess I can give up the power once there's no threat, anyone can get corrupted with power so.... he closed the book and headed towards the desk in front

I better tell the librarian about this strange book, after taken a few steps his body started glowing and a bright light flashed around him, he suddenly fell on the ground

ouch, that hurt, huh? looking around he was surrounded by people and in front of him was the hand of a sword but the rest of it's body was in a stone

did that kid just appear out of nowhere

you saw it too right

yh a bright light shun and he appeared

the people around started to whisper among themselves while Arthur was a little frightened

looking all around him he noticed they didn't seem normal in a way, for one the clothes they wore, they looked like it was a cosplay for the middle-ages, back when swords, bow and arrows where used, among them some where dressed in armor and next to the sword was a man dressed in golden armor

where am I he thought, and why are all these people here, wasn't I in the library just now

who are you

looking at the origin of the voice it came from girl who looked a little older than he was, she was dressed in a yellow dress, it looked way fancier then what everyone else wore and she was surrounded by the armor people

Just when Arthur was about responding he heard his name being called, turning around again he didn't know how but he could tell

the sword is calling me he thought to himself, it sounded like whispers but he could tell, the sword was speaking to him

hey the princess is talking to you said one of the guards standing next to her but Arthur ignored him and slowly walked to the sword, it was almost like he was hypnotized, the closer he got to it the louder his name was called

hey, how dare you ignore the princess said the man in golden armor but when he looked at Arthur's eyes and traced his gaze he immediately blocked his path

you dare to steal this countries sacred treasure?

let him go sir Hendricks the princess said

I want to see what he wants to do

but my lady

only those chosen by the sword can wield it so it's fine

Arthur walked towards the sword and held the hands, using all his strength he slowly pulled out the sword, everyone was in amazement, the sword was shining bright, beaming with power, it's silhouette could be seen through the light but that wasn't what shocked the crowd of people, it was the person who was holding it. Just then Arthur finally snapped back to his sense
