Sudden Spark

The sky was deep blue without a cloud in sight. It was the first day of summer vacation with a joyful atmosphere spreading throughout the entire town.

Normally, kids walk down the street with bags under their eyes and carry a giant backpack full of text books. But since it is summer everyone didn't need to worry about grades, work, or anything that tires them. All except one.

A teenager who is 14 years old sat down on wooden bench in the bustling park. He wore black cargo pants along with a black shirt shirt. He also wore a pair of black sneakers along with a thin black coat with a hoodie. One of his hands gripped the side of his head as the fisted the bench. This person was David, an ordinary below average school kid who everyone ignores.

'Fuck... what should I do now...' Jonejo thought to himself. There was a final quiz for all subjects at the last day of school, which no one was excited for. Even the teachers made complaints on it, on how they have to grade it over the summer. Unfortunately the principle is strict and stubborn old man and completely denied their request to stop it.

'I freaking forgot about that test!?! What should I do now..." Jonejo thought again. He continued to sit on the bench, thinking how to diffuse the wrath of his mother. He laid his back on the bench as he rubbed his temples with his hands.

"*Sigh* can't do anything about it, I am kinda feeling hungry anyway" He reached for his bag and opened it revealing the piles of candy and snacks inside. Beef jerky, skittles, granola bars, and more. He took out two granola bars, 1 m&m bag, and a packet of beef jerky. He opened the granola bar as he stuffs everything else in his cargo pant's pockets. It was a caramel chocolate but bar which is one of his favorites. He started munching in it as he started to relax his body of stress.

Ten minutes later however there was a minor earthquake that lightly shook everything, breaking Jonejo out of his state of mind.

'What the hell was that?' Jonejo sat up from his chair and looked around the park. He wasn't the only one that noticed the earthquake. Everyone from the joggers to the kids noticed the small earthquake. What happened next however, shocked them.

A large explosion erupted at the west entrance of the park. Several large yellow sparks jumped out of the explosion, spreading throughout the entire city. Everyone stared that the devastation in fear. Few started to run away desperately yelling in distress. Like a chain reaction everyone started running away. Jonejo followed the crowd as he wondered what caused the explosion? what were those large yellow sparks? Are his parents ok?

As he wondered in his mind he accidentally bumped into someone. He broke from thought again and looked ahead. His eyes widened in shock as his hands started to shake. Several people was rushing at other people animalisticaly attacking them. What's worse is that there were several missing limbs and holes in their body.

"z-z-ZOMBIES!" Jonejo yelled, he frantically jumped up and ran down the street following the crowd.

"Wait my bag!" He turned around but immediately continued running when he saw the incoming horde.

"God damn it!" Jonejo yelled again, he wasn't a fast runner but can be considered faster then most. He and the crowd continued to run down the streets and roads as cars sped and crashed around them. Screens and roars filled the air as the entire town was in chaos. Eventually the crowd found themselves surrounded by zombies. Jonejo panicked as he searched for an escape route. Luckily in the corner of his eye he caught an open door to a building. He quickly rushes enters the door before he locks it behind him. Other people saw him enter the door and rushed towards it as well, only to find it locked.

"KID LET US IN" "PLEASE LET ME IN" "YOU LET US IN NOW!" "PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR!" "PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR I HAVE A BABY!"

Jonejo listened to the yells outside while sweat went down his face. He knew that the moment he opens the door he will not only be swarmed by people, but also zombies.

"I'm sorry..." Jonejo silently said, he curled up in the corner of the room as tears started to form in his eyes.

'Why... why did this happen...' Jonejo thought to himself as he wept.

'I just wanna go ho-... MOM!' Jonejo immediately jumped up from the corner as he clutches his head.

'Mom is endangered! I have to save her!' Jonejo looked around the room for the first time to see it was a car repair shop. Tools littered the floor as a half painted red-white broken car was in the middle.

'Weapons, I need a weapon' Jonejo saw a wrench nearby and quickly grabbed it. He held it up as he inspected the room. There was several bloodstains on the ground but not a single body in sight.

Jonejo however didn't lower his guard as he slowly approached the car. He played to many zombies games and knows there will always be a zombie underneath a car. He slowly knelt down to look under the car. However it was to dark to see anything.

'light' Jonejo then remembered he had his phone in his jacket pocket. He quickly pulled it out and gave a good shack causing the light function to trigger. He shined the light underneath the car to see a mutilated corpse turn it's head towards him.

"...fuck"

A/N: First off he doesn't get his stand immediately. He gets it later(Between 2-5 chapters) in the story. Also it is not the kind of apocalypse where everybody mutates into a superhuman or research a formula for super strength. It is a realistic apocalypse but a stand user is in it. But the evolution rate of the zombies is the same. Enjoy the story!
