"So...what was that?"
It was after Jin-Woo and Haru made their exit from the Mutant's world, and entered the white room when Jin-Woo asked his junior.
"What do you mean, Sunbae?" Haru, who was about to check the rewards, turned to look at his senior with visible confusion on his face.
Jin-Woo sighed while leaning on the wall as he clarified his concern, "That near atomic blast you caused earlier. Not once, but twice."
Jin-Woo was aware of that last attack Haru used to destroy the remaining ships of the Sentinels, but the earlier one he used to create a massive explosion out of nowhere, was indeed surprising.
'Just when I think, I know everything about this guy... ' By now, Jin-woo has lost count of how many times Haru has shocked him with his new skills.
Every time, Jin-Woo thinks that this must be his limit, Haru brings out another card up his deck and leaves everything in dust.
"Oh, that...well, that spell decomposes the matter and releases energy from it, with the mass of the decomposed matter multiplied by the speed of light squared. So yeah...it's like an atomic missile and can range up to a nuclear one as well."
"..."
That...was terrifying, to say the least.
A hunter possessing the ability to destroy a whole city...or worse, a country with just a snap of his fingers was anything but settling. Not only did Haru have the ability to literally bring people back from death, but he could flip the table and become a catastrophe for all living beings if he desired to.
"Haru...have you ever thought about world domination?" Jin-Woo didn't know whether he was asking out of genuine curiosity or a necessary measure, that what if things didn't go the way Haru wanted and the situation turned out in a bad way?
Hearing his question, Haru seemed a little taken aback, however upon sensing the underlying seriousness of the question, he decided not to joke about it,
"Truth be told, Sunbae, I have never desired chaos or authority. Even if the world forgets about my deed, then it would mean nothing to me. I don't desire extreme power or money either...and it's a tested fact so I ain't lying here."
Hearing his response, which sounded genuine for the most part, Jin-Woo re-questioned, "Then what do you want from life?"
"Peace and the people I love, beside me." His response was so quick and unhesitant, that Jin-Woo had no trouble accepting it as his honest answer.
Haru, despite being in his teenage, thinks like a grown man, who wants nothing more than serenity in his life and keeping the people he adores, near him.
For some reason, Jin-Woo couldn't help but smile at that.
'It was a mistake suspecting him...' If not for the day when Haru saved him during the Jeju Island raid, then today surely, Jin-Woo was assured that this boy was the perfect partner for his sister.
"Damn!"
Hearing Haru exclaim, Jin-Woo was broken out of his reverie as he turned to look at the younger one...only to find a pole in his hand.
"Sunbae....this is great for your reward. Hold it." As Haru offered, Jin-Woo took hold of the pole...and found an electrifying sensation running across his body.
Jin-Woo apprised the pole, only to find his eyes widening,
[Name: Yeoui]
[Class: ???]
[Type: Bo staff]
[Attack: ???]
[Defence: ???]
[Origin: ???]
...
Seeing the uncanny description and experiencing the sensation, the bo staff was providing, was enough to make him flabbergasted.
"This...?" Jin-Woo could only ask his junior to fill in the information about this strange pole, which could be anything but ordinary.
"This is legendary bo staff of a God. There are numerous abilities you can test. Like, you can amplify its weight and size. You can summon it on command and even teleport it on will. You can...hmm...yeah, you can create clones of it, but they won't be as potent as the single staff. And also, this one has super durability...like it can withstand a meteor shower without incurring a scratch."
Haru voiced everything he remembered about the Ruyi Jingu Bang, in one breath while recalling the manhwa he read in the last life.
On the other hand, Jin-Woo took some moments to register whatever Haru just told him.
To say the pole was a purchasable item would be a huge understatement since this kind of godly weapon, which the system couldn't appraise was anything but normal.
'It's much like Haru's ring...' Most of the abilities which Haru listed, were identical to that ring his junior offered back then.
However, Jin-Woo could feel, that this Bo staff was much more potent and versatile than any of the weapons he had wielded as of yet; including that ring.
However, "I can't take this, Haru. It's too much for a reward. I have already gained experience fighting those robots, so you can keep this."
Jin-Woo extended the pole back to the person since he found himself being a little too greedy. Not only does he get to train against those many strong foes, but Haru has helped Jin-Woo in many manners, which he couldn't even list.
If Haru had asked Jin-Woo to solely bisect the robots without any backup and compensation, Jin-Woo would have agreed without hesitation. That was why he didn't find himself worthy to receive such a heavenly weapon.
In response, Haru sighed at his Sunbae's modesty, before he pushed the pole back toward him, and said, "I am more a mage type, Sunbae so just like the ring, I won't be using this bo staff either. And selling this kind of thing would lead to conflicts."
With his demeanor turning a little determined, Haru finished, "And Sunbae, I trust no one else but you, to handle such a treasure so please don't reject it."
Jin-Woo could sense the severity of the matter and how much trust his junior put in him by handing the weapon to him.
In the end, Jin-Woo could only chuckle and accept the reward, "If you say so."
There was something that was giving Haru a bad premonition. The upcoming war, might not go as he had planned. Maybe, Antares wasn't the only enemy waiting out there.
And to prepare against this uncertain future, Haru wanted his partner in crime, to be fully prepared.
