The conference room was sent into turmoil after the Chairman of the American Hunter Bureau announced Haru's relationship with the Gates.
There was no denying the fact that there was a force behind the appearance of these gates and given the frequent appearance of high-ranking ones was a hint that humanity should be prepared for something far greater.
In such a state of emergency, the psychological state of different nations was a little shaken, as such, this statement regarding Hunter Nanase was quite a matter to be concerned about.
"Excuse me, Mister Chairman, but is there any evidence to show that Hunter Nanase is connected with the Gates?" A British man asked the Chairman through the mic and slowly the whispering and murmuring came to a halt.
The answer to this query was in the interest of all, including the person being 'blamed' as well.
David Brennon—the Director of the Federal Bureau of Hunter took out something from the file and the image of that document was being projected on the screen for everyone to watch.
It was a report and a small but visible picture of a young schoolgirl near the bottom of the page. And on the other side, there was another picture of a man with lean stature and blond hair.
"23rd March, we received news of the disappearance of a young girl named Sung Jin-Ah." Hearing that name, everyone turned their eyes toward the other Sung.
However suddenly, they found a far greater reason to be concerned about as an overwhelming aura descended upon the conference hall, making many hunters jump on their feet in caution while some even began to choke on their breath.
The air turned heavy and the center of such an intense aura was the person who looked nothing but utterly and intensely agitated.
David's face was contoured in pain and his complexion paler than a sheet as he somehow held himself on his feet.
The bodyguards of the Director wanted to support their employer and many other Hunters wanted to protest against such brute behaviour—but the aura Haru was radiating couldn't be countered unless you were Shadow Monarch.
Amidst the life-threatening pressure they were going through, the heavy voice of Haru resonated across the hall, "Mister Director, I would suggest you stop showing her face on the display just to provide evidence against me. I won't warn you again so choose your actions wisely."
The pressure disappeared. The dimming light of the room regained its vitality and the people who were on the verge of falling unconscious were able to regain their bearings.
David looked pale before he forcibly pulled the cable of the projector to remove Jin-Ah's picture to be shown to the conference hall.
"Over-react..." Hearing Jin-Woo's words, Haru shrugged. He just reacted without restraint. He didn't like seeing his girlfriend being seen by everyone, so he just gave a light warning.
"I apologize for not taking the consent but that was the only evidence we could come up with." The doctor re-initiated the discussion before he added, "Someone close to Hunter Nanase and Hunter Sung was abducted by a mysterious being who was giving off the same readings as a high-ranked monster."
Hearing those words people didn't begin to murmur as they were still trying to calm themselves down, however, there was one in the room who was not as much affected as the others.
Leaning forward, he asked, not the Doctor but Haru directly, "Hunter Nanase, do you have any information regarding these summoners which can help us prepare? I wouldn't say that it is your fault for the sudden rise in dungeon appearance, but from the evidence it seems that the other side is indeed quite interested in you."
Liu Zhigang wasn't the type of person who would cower away from asking what was on his mind. Although he sensed that Haru was quite on a different level than any other hunter, it didn't mean that no one could ask him questions just because of the fear he inflicted on others.
Haru remained silent this time rather, the older one sitting beside him asked, "Why don't you guys ask the ones who are to be blamed?"
Jin-Woo's words created a stir in the conference hall. The cause? The cause of the dungeon appearance was here?
"I don't get it, Hunter Sung. Who is the reason?" Professor Belzer asked what everyone had in mind.
Jin-Woo's face remained unchanging as he called out—not to the Professor but to the being he had sensed hiding the moment he walked in,
"Would you show yourself or do I have to force you to?" Those words silenced everyone as they couldn't discern whom Sung Jin-Woo was calling out to.
Haru had a smirk on his face as he awaited the drama to unfold.
*Klank* *Klank*
The footsteps of an individual resounded in the hall, as a blond man with blazing blue eyes walked to stand before the stage with his gaze directed at no one but Jin-Woo.
The Director of the Hunter's Bureau had already pressed the emergency button from the underside of the table since the aura this person was radiating was quite ominous.
"You have truly emerged, Shadow Monarch. This is a very special occasion for us to meet here, isn't it?" The skin of the man began to radiate and his skin began to turn frosty blue from head to toe. His once black mane was replaced by the colour of ice and the man's young face was now covered with wrinkles as he stood with a sinister grin on his face.
Seeing the Monarch of Frost here even though Jin-Woo had seen him die right before his eyes, proves that indeed the Rulers have played a role in this strategy.
They have lost their path once again. And this time, it wasn't Jin-Woo's role to punish the Rulers.
Suddenly a horde of shadow soldiers emerged across the room as Jin-Woo coldly stated under his breath,
"Today, only one of us would leave this room."
