[Uzumaki Naruto's POV]
Temari was wild. I didn't know whether she did it consciously or not, but she kept begging me to treat her like a worthless whore when we were going at it. I kindly complied, of course, but it slightly put me off. I didn't know a 16-year-old girl could be that sinful. Then again, kids already killed people in this world. That was not that surprising, honestly.
"I guess that Temari kid really hates your guts, huh, Naruto," Tsunade remarked.
"Do you think so?" I asked curiously.
"I mean, even that grumpy brother of hers saw you off."
"Kankurō already told me she was still asleep."
"Hmph! I am a woman too, you know. I know what she is doing."
I just chuckled and let Tsunade win. I didn't want to tell her I just fucked the life out of Temari in the early morning. It would be awkward given the thing I had done with Tsunade a few hours earlier. She didn't want to talk about it, but I bet she would be upset if I thought nothing of it. I didn't care about how she felt, but I also didn't want to unnecessarily hurt her.
A few hours later, our trip was hampered by a group of bandits. The Anbu guards who disguised themselves as normal people were ready to slaughter all of them, but I stopped them. I had thought up a new method of using Hiraishin and I wanted to test if it would work. So, I threw my Hiraishin kunai at the bandits and waited until it sailed past them.
I activated the Hiraishin Seal and teleported among them. Relying entirely on my speed, I slaughtered the bandits with a pair of kunai. My Hiraishin kunai was still sailing in the air at this point. I tried to activate the seal again and to my glee, it worked. In the end, I managed to teleport three times until the kunai embedded itself in the tree that I had targeted. At this point, all of the bandits were dead.
I plucked the kunai out of the tree and returned to Tsunade's side using the Hiraishin Mark I had left on her tits. She didn't know that. No one knew about my hobby of marking things with Hiraishin. Of course, I would tell her sooner or later. Even if the seal was well-hidden, her skills would allow her to find out about it eventually.
"I wouldn't want to be your enemy," Kakashi remarked nostalgically.
"Are you planning to become one?" I asked cockily.
"Well, no. Not after that," Kakashi shook his head.
People on Earth would have been concerned about passing through a way littered with bodies and painted with blood, even if they belonged to bandits. None of us was bothered. Kakashi and Tsunade were apathetic. The undercover Anbu, on the other hand, were admiring me. This paradigm was what made talks about morals in this world hypocritical.
The trip lasted two days. We encountered another bandit group on the way, but they were nonviolent. Well, they could be violent, but they were smart. They knew who Tsunade was. That was not much, though. Anyone with a functioning brain shouldn't carelessly provoke Jōnin from Shinobi Villages.
When we arrived at Konoha, Izumo and Kotetsu treated Tsunade differently. I asked them about their behavior and they revealed that Hiruzen had already announced his retirement, choosing Tsunade to take after him. He was true to his words. Tsunade would be made Hokage as soon as she returned.
After thanking the Anbu guards and dismissing them, Tsunade took Kakashi and me to the Hokage office. We were officially no different from the Anbu guards, but we were also tasked with espionage. While the Anbu guards focused on guarding Tsunade, we went undercover and gathered information from the village.
Knock. Knock.
"Senju Tsunade reporting."
"Enter."
Hiruzen was enjoying himself on his chair, smoking his pipe. He puffed the cancer cloud out of his mouth and smiled at us. He showed us the look of a man who no longer had anything to worry about. I noticed his desk was also clean. The man was ready to retire. Poor Tsunade. Every unfinished job would be burdened unto her.
"Well, tell me how it went, Tsunade."
"It went well."
Hiruzen nodded his head and Tsunade began recounting. It would be a long story to tell Hiruzen the whole process, so Tsunade reported about the deals that we made with Suna. First, Konoha would be the main supplier of vegetables and fruits. Second, Suna should share 20% of its gold production for the next twenty years. There were twelve clauses, in total, so I wouldn't bother listing all of them.
The point was that breaking the terms and conditions would be treated as declaring war. Given the terms, Suna was the one who would likely break them. If they had enough brain cells, that wouldn't happen. After all, given their military power, they would only lose to Konoha. Moreover, they needed to think about other villages eager to bite them the moment they lowered their guard.
For that reason, one of the clauses stated that Konoha should help Suna when it was facing aggression from other villages. This was Suna's silver lining of the negotiation. However, whether the trade-off was worth it was still up for debate. At least, Konoha could ensure Suna wouldn't be taken over by other villages as long as the treaty was upheld.
"With this, our alliance with Suna is more secure than the other," Hiruzen stated with a small smile. "Great job, Tsunade." Tsunade casually shrugged off the compliment. Turning to me, Hiruzen asked, "Do you find anything worth mentioning, Naruto-kun?"
"Gaara's seal is stable, as I expected. I have located the village's vault and broken into it. Unfortunately, aside from some non-Shinobi-related valuables, there was nothing worth mentioning. The Jutsu Scrolls there mostly consist of A-Ranks that we already possess. Those we don't have are harmless and not worth stealing."
"I didn't tell you to break into their vault or steal anything," Hiruzen smiled wryly. Bitch, you told me to get something important. "Anyway, why did you deem the scrolls harmless?"
"One of them was a penis enlargement—"
"Koff! Koff! Okay, that is enough," Hiruzen interjected meanwhile Tsunade snickered and Kakashi giggled.
I shrugged and listened quietly as Kakashi reported his findings. He mostly talked about the reactions of Suna's higher-ups and whether they were planning to collude with Iwa to go against Konoha. Of course, it was unlikely to happen since Suna hated Iwa as much as Iwa hated Konoha.
As my boredom almost killed me, my eyes went to the corner of the room and caught someone hiding in the wall. I would normally ignore it since the Anbu guarded Hiruzen, but my Sekigan detected an oddity from the guy. There was a weird flow of Chakra to his tongue. Normal Anbu personnel wouldn't have that.
Swish!
My hand flashed and a kunai hit the man hiding in the wall. The alerted Anbu personnel immediately jumped into action and held their blades against my neck. The dead man fell from the wall. His body was burning. I escaped the Anbu's entrapment using Hiraishin, caught the dead man, and cut his head before it caught on fire.
"Stand down!" Hiruzen shouted, forcing the Anbu to remain in their spots. "Naruto, tell me what—"
I cut Hiruzen's words by throwing him the fake Anbu's head. Hiruzen's hands around the head tightened as he opened the mask. He mumbled the man's name and then opened the man's mouth. He should be seeing Danzō's Cursed Seal on the man's tongue. A weary sigh escaped his mouth. He aged ten years in the blink of an eye.
"His brain has turned to mush. The Yamanaka wouldn't get anything out of him."
I had expected that. After all, the fake Anbu had enough consciousness to set himself alight before dying.
"He's part of the Root, isn't he?" I said casually. "I thought you had disbanded it, Sensei."
"I had, Naruto-kun… but someone didn't listen."
Someone was irate. The Anbu personnel were tense. Tsunade and Kakashi were solemn. I was also quite annoyed but didn't care much about it. Danzō wouldn't be able to stop me even if he tried. However, I had to be more careful since he must be putting more surveillance on me.
"I declare what happened here as an S-Rank Secret. Anyone who talks about it will be deemed a traitor and will be dealt with accordingly," Hiruzen exclaimed.
Tsunade and Kakashi seemed to have something to say but held themselves. Hiruzen's eyes told everyone that he would deal with the matter himself, so we should just trust him.
"Yes, Hokage-sama."
"Very well, let's talk about your inauguration, Tsunade." He turned to the Anbu guards. "You can also return to your station."
The four Anbu guards returned to their hiding spots. Hiruzen sat down and put the Root member's head on his desk. Everyone ignored the head and the talk about Tsunade's rise to Hokage commenced. The world of killers, indeed.
