Chapter 35: The Alpha's Luna
Selene can feel the panic bubbling up as the pack members close in. She would give anything to have Onyx with her. When he’s around she feels like she can take on the world. A part of her feels like it’s missing without him. He’s so far away she can’t sense him at all.
Selene shakes off the feeling of helplessness as she hears the witches crying out from behind her. She brought them here and it’s up to her to keep them safe.
“I will not tell you again,” she yells as the shifters draw closer. Selene doesn’t want to hurt them, but she will if it means protecting innocent people.
A growl begins to grow in her chest. A warning, she thinks to herself. Selene tips her head back and howls to the sky. It starts out like any other howl, full and resonating, but as it grows in volume it also raises in pitch. Soon the shifters are backing away shaking their heads in pain. The sound is deafening.
“Please, stop,” one of them says.
