Shadow: King Of The Night & Ruler Of The Underworld

Betrayed and casted aside by his own family, Greg’s perfectly aligned life morphs into a literal joke. He ends up landing in a wealthy family, and assumes his life is finally back on track, but his life’s status only grew more pathetic, despite him having a wife now. There, he becomes the disgraceful son-in-law everyone despises. Greg gets humiliated on a daily basis by the wealthy people around him. Greg had lost all hope and was about to give up the ghost after one unfortunate circumstance, when heaven finally danced in his favor and a hand stretched out to him— in his long, lost relative who showed up from the blues and completely turned his life around. “You’re no longer the pathetic son-in-law, Greg. You’d now be known as Shadows, King of the night and ruler of the world. Everyone would either bow at your feet or be sent six feet under!” Greg’s time is finally here. Alas, he’s on top of the world, and this time, he’d stop at nothing till every single person who had wronged him, is bowing at his feet.

The Hidden Truth

"Do you work for the company? Or do you work for a subsidiary? I mean everyone here has explained what they do… except the smart guy over there," the heir pointed to Alexander. "I still have no idea what you bring to the table apart from being smart."

"I…" he tried to explain as the man held up his hand, stopping the guru in his steps.

"I'll get to know in due time. As for now, it's only for introductions."

"Can I give a rundown of my life? Explaining it to you in detail would be a better thing to do."

Greg nodded.

"Alright," she breathed. "So I'm from a wealthy family and they are deeply rooted into the entertainment world. They have hands in almost every part of Hollywood and the music industry, but I wanted to be my own person, make my own name.

"I did not want to live under my fathers and mothers shadows forever. I wanted my own name. I wanted to look back five or ten years from that time and be very happy and proud that I had accomplished something.

"So that was what I did. I set off on my own adventure and started marking out my own success with determination to be the best at everything I could do.

"Now I must admit that my family's involvement in the industry could have made things a whole lot easier for me, I preferred to strike the road and pave my own way. I wanted to be independent and grow away from my family.

"I started out as a singer and became famous real quick with my covers on social media… I don't know if you've heard this song, cry like a river?"

Greg shook his head. Living with his wife had not been the best experience for him and having a phone was a luxury not to talk of watching clips on it. He was sure he did not have a social media account.

That was for those who had status. He was trying to survive.

"I don't," he smiled. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine," she shrugged. "The video had over sixteen million views on one platform alone and on all platforms had a combined number of around four hundred views.

"That blew me out of the water and I quickly became famous that brands wanted me and people wanted to collaborate with me. Even record labels wanted to spearhead my music but I refused.

"If I could do it on my own without my father, then I could do it without a record label. So I stayed away from the rich old men and I boosted myself up.

"Eventually I dabbled in acting and excelled in that area as well. I also tried being a model and it worked perfectly for me. So you could say that I was a singer, model and actor and not be wrong."

Greg was impressed by her accomplishments. He could not believe she had done all of this in mere years and she was still twenty. He started to wonder if she had gone away from her parent's house at the age of fifteen.

"Also, I learned a thing or two about producing movies during my acting career and I became a producer using my industry knowledge and wit to create opportunities for myself and for others out there.

"I also have a few aspiring singers under my record label that was created a few months ago. It's not much but it's a starting point. This way I can help budding singers who are talented and need that exposure."

This was wonderful, Greg thought. She was better than many women out there who only depended on men for their riches. He started to think back to his wife who only wanted to get with the rich and he suddenly realized that she was a gold digger.

If she truly loved him she would have stayed with him no matter what. He had tried to make her life easier and been there for her when she needed someone by her side. But that had not been enough for her.

Seeing this little girl do her thing without aid made him realize that his wife could work that hard if she wanted to but instead she chose to have the easy way out.

Carl excused himself as he exited the room leaving Greg in charge of the entire crew.

He asked them a couple of questions to know about their lives and how they went about their work and he found one thing about them. They were sucking up to him in ways he did not like.

They all felt like they had been forced to be with him and he wondered if his uncle had been the driving force behind this.

It would make sense for Hudson to have put this team together seeing as they were on ends with one another. Not all of them but Kieran and Dominic looked like they would be the biggest problem he was going to face in the team.

He had not worked with a tweak before. This was his first but he was living the interaction he was having with them. They would fight from time to time but it made the team feel more relatable.

It was better than being in a generic team that would suck up to him just because he was the heir to inherit everything.

He knew the team was fake but he also wanted to believe that he could work with them and have them by his side when things would get rough.

He had so much to tell them but he was not going to say anything. At least not now. The time would come but for now he would play by the games they were put to play with him.

He was not a fool. He knew when people were sticking around him just for the sake of it and not because they genuinely liked him.
