Carl, who had excused himself from the meeting, headed for the break room to breathe and he took up a smoke.
He looked at it for a few seconds before noting that it would be better to let it go instead of smoking it. He was not going back to a life he had chosen to forget.
He put the cigar on the table to settle on a stool.
He could tell that Greg was not having a great time with the people in the conference room but that was how it usually went around here. At first everyone hated you and the next minute you were loved.
A very confusing time for everyone around.
Every single person that had been brought before the heir had a special gift which would come in handy for the man.
Kieran and Dominic even when they were on opposite ends would be the muscle of the group, protecting Greg at all times.
Carl had been one of the deciding factors for why Hudson had chosen most of the people in the group.
To Greg the two might as well be one but to the butler they were different.
Kieran was a man who stood for resilience and passion. Yes he was not affiliated with any gang or anything like that but he could hold his own and definitely knew the ropes around protecting oneself.
Dominic on the other hand was not like Kieran, not even in the slightest. The bull was a member of a local gang. This made him a gangster but this was a good thing for the heir and that was one of the reasons why the man had been hired.
He has a large following of loyal people in his gang and they offered their unwavering support to the man. Also, since he was the one who taught Kieran for a while before they split up, it meant he had skills beyond any man around.
This was enough security for the heir. With the gang members worshiping the bull and ready to lay down their life to him, they could do the same with the boss to their boss which indirectly meant Greg.
Carl smiled at his decision to bring Dominic into the team. It had not been easy but he knew it would be worth it in the end, for they would see Greg as a great master. It would only take time and time was what they had.
Also, with Dominic's power of his gang and underground connections, he was already a powerful tool that could be used.
Carl sighed while grabbing a beer from the nearby fridge to open and drink. His thoughts were getting the better of him but he had come out of the conference room to clear his head.
Apart from Kieran and Dominic, the next person on the list was Alexander, the genius from Britain.
With his feats of intelligence, he could rival some of the smartest people in the world and it was a pleasure working with such a man.
The man was always one who was observant and was always learning new things. He possessed an acute awareness of his surroundings and with his keen eyes would pick up minute details the others could overlook.
Carl gave a little chuckle. He had interacted with the genius a couple of times and tested him in instances that the others had failed in but for the man he had passed without even trying.
He had an observant nature which allowed him to unravel complexities, discern patterns and deduce hidden truths that laid beneath the surface. This made him a master of solving problems no matter how difficult it was.
When Greg had asked Alex what he brought to the table, Alex could not explain because his skills were not ones that could be explained but ones that needed showings.
He wasn't as strong as Kieran or Dominic, neither was he as hardworking as Isabella or as calculating as Victor. He was not also as intelligent as Evangeline, no, he was so much more than that.
He was an embodiment of brilliance and introspective depth. He had a mystery around him that even Carl was still trying to figure out but it was a good mystery and not a bad one.
It was a mystery that would come to be shown with more time being spent with the group and the butler was ready to learn from the genius as well.
Isabella the secretary of one of the companies was a special one as she was the most hardworking secretary of the entire company.
Her exceptional skills made her a force to be reckoned with as she knew her job inside out and took no risks with it. She was as straightforward as they come and this was what the group needed.
Someone who would talk about logic and want it done in a straightforward fashion to avoid being caught in an unsightly situation.
She could also adapt to situations where the others could find it difficult to understand. Also, unlike the others her level of approachability was second to none. That was something the rest of the team lacked and that was why she was there.
Of course Carl knew that she did not like Greg but that would all be in the past for soon enough she would come to see the heir as an exemplary leader and not an ordinary one. Hudson had thought of this and she had been Hudson's unequivocal choice.
As for Victor Blackwood, the accountant, he had skills that were from him and him alone. With his years of experience no one could trump him in his intricate understanding of the world of finance and how it worked.
He could not only manipulate numbers but also people and that was why he was very important, for in the world of business his skills were cherished.
Whether he used legal or illegal methods did not matter for he always got results.
