When he received a message from his assistant, Toh used this chance to slip out using the back door. After walking for five minutes, he spotted a familiar car and got inside.

His assistant Tanabe Koichi is also a member of the same university as him. A man with spiky black hair and he wore midnight blue-colored frames.

"Here are your- woah, why are you just wearing a bathrobe? Did the woman you stay with this time kick you out without letting you get changed?"

"It's not like that. She didn't have anything else for me to wear."

Just from that alone, Toh understood that it was her first time randomly inviting a man who she had just met into her home. However, it does seem like another guy stays there frequently. Obviously, nothing has happened between them.

"Suit yourself. But which type of woman are you dating now? This neighborhood is rich. But it's usually for elites who do not like to attract attention." Koichi paused. "Did you get yourself involved with a strange woman?"

"Do you know a girl called Ibuki Sumire?"

His friend has a wide information network; rather, collecting information is his specialty. He should know more. It seemed like his grandmother had information about her too, but she did not give any details.

At those words, Koichi dropped the bag in his hands. "That's the woman you just stayed with?"

"Yeah."

"Toh, when did you get involved with underage girls-"

"It was an accident." Toh trailed off. "She looks too mature for her age, and I met her at my sponsor's club."

"I see. But you are very brave; everybody knows she is Terashima Yuhi's woman."

Terashima Yuhi? Isn't that the name of a very popular singer who is climbing up the entertainment industry ladder at a rapid speed? Now that he thought about it, last night. There was Yuhi, who continued to call her. He deleted all the calls because he didn't want anybody to disturb her rest.

"Tell me a bit more."

"It's common knowledge in the underworld. Terashima Yuhi may be a large star now. But around a year and a half ago, he was still an active underworld member. He was a member of the Holy Knights group for a year, and before then, he frequently joined random gangs. He never stayed in those ones for long, but he stayed with the Holy knight's group for longer." Koichi trailed off. "The reason for that is Ibuki."

"He stayed because he fell for her?"

"No, it seemed like the two knew each other somewhere before. Ibuki seems to be a huge fan of Terashima. So, it shouldn't be surprising if they met each other before."

"So it's a case of an idol dating their fan and arranging a meeting with them?"

Even though he was unfamiliar with the entertainment industry, he knew who Terashima Yuhi was. There are many shady rumors of him fooling around with different women. It's the entertainment industry, so he is not surprised to hear such news.

But, when she spoke about him, that girl seemed sincere and pure. Is he tricking her?

"I thought that too, but look at this." Koichi had taken out his laptop and pulled up a video.

It was a clip of Sumire and a man with black hair surrounded by so many men. The two were fighting back to back. It was only a short clip, but even when they were not facing each other, Toh could see they carefully watched each other's movements.

When one of them was about to get ambushed by a surprise attack, the other one would cover. They have good teamwork and harmony.

So, this isn't a simple idol dating their fan relationship, huh?

"Toh, are you really going to chase Ibuki?"

"She's an interesting one."

"Even after hearing that she is Terashima Yuhi's girlfriend?"

"As far as I know. No, from what she told me, she is not dating anybody now." Toh trailed off. "Do you think Terashima would scare me? Why are you so scared?"

Toh noticed that there was something off about his friend's behavior.

"I've seen Terashima fighting up close. No, not just Terashima but Ibuki too. Those two are monsters. I have never seen people take down one hundred people like it was nothing. They only used their bare fists to fight, and no weaponry was involved. But they both came out of those fights unharmed."

His gaze fell back on the video clip that was still playing. Indeed, she seems to fight very well. But isn't it too much to call her a monster?

"Toh," Koichi said seriously. "Normally, I never meddle with your relationships. But this one is too much."

"Because she is the head of the underworld?"

"Not just that. I think that girl has lost all her morals. Did you hear about that murder that happened recently?"

"Which one?"

All sorts of dangerous events occur in this town. So many murders and accidents happen without the police ever finding out.

"It happened at a casino; a man was lured by a young woman and murdered in an abandoned room with no surveillance cameras."

At a casino? Perhaps did the murder happened on that day-

"The murder was brutal. She cut him to pieces and drained his body parts in the sewer pipes." Koichi typed a few words on his laptop, and several images appeared on the screen. "Look at this."

Toh briefly glanced over. 'I see, so that explains the unusual feeling I got off her.' Even though they were talking normally and he had a lot of fun with her. Occasionally he would see a distant gaze in her eyes like he was only speaking to a human with no soul.

If there is something wrong with her morally, then it explains that look and how she can commit such a vicious murder like this.

"I am so relieved there was no surveillance. If I see a video of how she did this, I don't think I will be able to sleep."

Toh examined the images. "Get me a copy of this case file."

Koichi sighed. "You truly have no fear. I guess you won't since you have a powerful backer. But be careful, Toh. Even for a criminal psychologist like you. Ibuki Sumire's mental state isn't something you can examine."

He didn't bother replying to that, and his gaze fell on his phone. It was a photo of the girl fast asleep. It was an accident; he would never randomly take pictures without anybody's permission. So it surprised him when he saw it on his phone this morning.

No matter how much he learns about her, he finds every single fact fascinating.
