Life

"We heard the great news! You're getting married to Yuna!" Said Jin happily as I entered the practice room.

I smiled wide. "Yeah, it's really great. I'm so excited."

"Congrats," said Yoongi patting me on the shoulder.

"Yeah, thanks hyung," I brought him into a hug.

Jimin ignored me the whole day, so I did the same back. At the end of the day we all headed home and Yuna was waiting for me when I arrived.

"Hey baby," I said as I brought her into my arms.

"How was practice?" She asked.

"It was good. How was work?" I replied.

"We won the case!" She said excitedly.

"I knew you would! You're the best lawyer out there!" I exclaimed picking her up and giving her kisses all over. "Did you remember to go to your doctor's appointment?"

"Yeah, don't worry. She said I was about 3 or 4 weeks in," she replied.

A smile formed on my face.

"What's the face?" Asked Yuna.

"I'm pretty sure I know when this happened?" I replied with a smirk.

Her cheeks went red and she couldn't help but to hide her face in the cushions of my sofa.

I started to laugh. "Ah what a great night that was." I said still laughing.

"Aish stop it!" Whined Yuna lightly hitting me.

I fell back and pretended to be in pain. "Owwww!" I pouted.

Yuna rolled her eyes.

I sat up and pulled her into my arms and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I love you."

She smiled brightly. "I love you too."

We stayed in the rest of the night and ended up falling asleep in each other's arms.

"You'll just end up hurting the ones you love, remember you're just a heartless monster and you'll never change." Jimin snickered.

"No, that's not true! I could never hurt Yuna or the baby. You're wrong, I'm not a monster." I shook my head. My mind went blank and those words were all I could think about. The next thing I knew I woke up sweating and panting. Yuna was still fast asleep next to me. I rested my face in my hands and sighed. It was already practically morning so I decided to get dressed and go out for a short walk.

As I was headed back some random guy bumped into me. "Watch it." I said annoyed. He just kept walking on. When I made it back to my apartment I noticed the door was slightly open and it was oddly quiet, I couldn't even hear Yuna's soft breaths as she slept. I know I closed the door behind me and I went in and everything was a mess, as if someone had ransacked my whole apartment. I quickly ran into the living room and the horrible sight in front of me brought me down to my knees in utter shock and despair, my eyes filled with tears as I ran over to the bloodied lifeless body of my fiancé.

"Yuna? Hey! Baby! Please wake up!" I begged. This couldn't be happening. "Oh god no!" I cried.

It was him, the man who bumped into me. He was responsible for this.

Soon after my apartment building was swarming with police.

The coroner took my Yuna's body away and I was questioned, of course the convicted criminal and boyfriend was the first suspect.

"You shouldn't be here asking me all these tedious questions! You should be out there looking for the killer!" I exclaimed.

"Sir, this is my job. We're doing everything we can to find this person," said the officer that was questioning me.

"Fine, whatever." I finished answering his unwanted and unnecessary questions.

I sat in my empty apartment in silence after all the police officers finally finished and left. Jimin was right. Yuna was never safe with me. I angrily chucked things around my apartment and sobbed into the morning. The sun came up and I no longer felt anything again, I was the way I was before. Jimin was right I was never able to change, I would always be a cold heartless monster. Heartless monster or not I was going to find the man responsible for the deaths of Yuna and my unborn child and kill him.

"Hey, Kookie, open up. I need to talk to you," said Jimin knocking at the door. I didn't move, I didn't even flinch. The door swung open and Jimin came barging in.

"Oh wow, what happened here?" Asked Jimin. He came to the living room. "Holy shit, what the hell happened? Why are you covered in blood?"

I looked up at him. Puffy red eyes filled with sadness and rage.

"She's gone. And it's my fault. You were right, hyung," I sobbed.

"What do you mean? Did you hurt Yuna?" Asked Jimin squatting down next to me.

"No, not directly. I left for a couple of hours to clear my head, when I came back my door was open, my apartment was in shambles and Yuna- she was lying here, lifeless. I- Why did I leave?!" I cried and buried my face in my hands.

Jimin wrapped his arms around me and brought me into a hug. "I'm so sorry Kookie. Everything will be fine."

"I ran into him hyung, on my way back here," I angrily said as I pulled away from his embrace.

"What do you mean?" Asked Jimin.

"The person who did this, he walked into me as I was coming back. I had him and I let him go!" I exclaimed. "Hyung, we need to find him and kill him."

Jimin nodded. "Whatever you want."

"Hyung?" I said.

"Yeah?" Said Jimin.

"Why did you come over? It's like 5 in the morning, the sun is barely up," I asked confused.

"I couldn't sleep, I came to apologize about what I said," replied Jimin. "I hate when we fight and I wanted you to know that I support whatever decisions you make because you're my little brother and I love you."

"Oh, well apology excepted, I guess." I shrugged. "But I have to be honest, you were right. I don't know why I thought at all that I could change."

"Don't say that. You were right, I was the wrong one. Yuna was a very good person and she was changing you for the better," said Jimin.

I nodded. "I guess I better start cleaning up."

"Need some help?" Asked Jimin.

"Sure," I said.

We got up and started putting things away back on the shelves and tables and sweeping up the broken things. I went and picked up a picture that used to sit on the coffee table next to the couch, it must've fallen off during the struggle. It was a picture of Yuna when she and I first started dating. I let out a weak smile, but then I noticed the way the frame was broken, it looked like it was deliberately thrown to the floor. Jimin noticed I had stopped and came over to me.

"That picture of Yuna?" He asked.

"Yeah, I took it on our third date. I loved it so much that I had it framed," I replied. "But hyung, look."

"What? It looks like it must've gotten knocked off during the struggle," said Jimin confused.

"That's what I thought at first, but look the frame wouldn't be this bent up and the glass shouldn't be this shattered," I said.

"What are you saying?" Asked Jimin.

"The picture was deliberately thrown to the floor," I replied.

"You think the person knew Yuna?" Asked Jimin.

I weakly nodded. "Yeah."

"That just made our search harder. You know how many crooks she worked for? How many guys she put away?" Said Jimin shaking his head and sighing.

"Yeah, I know. But at least we've narrowed it down to one of the crooks she put away. All we have to do is gather a list of people who were recently released from prison and see if she ever got any threatening letters from any of the people on that list," I replied. "I have to go to the police station. I need to talk to the coroner." I grabbed my car keys and headed for the door.

"Wait, you're going now?" Asked Jimin.

"Yeah," I replied.

"We have to be at BigHit in like an hour," said Jimin.

"I won't be long, I'll meet you there," I said leaving and slamming the door behind me.
