C15 Testing Abilities

Now that I have two new powers, I should start practicing with them. Let's start with occlumency. Sitting on my bed with my legs crossed, I meditate as the skill says. After meditating for a while, my consciousness is pulled into my mind. My mind is a white space that has floating cubes everywhere. When I look closer, I see that every cube is a memory. The cubes are scattered everywhere, and my job is to take each cube and organize them into chronological order. First I will the cubes to turn into files, and then I summon two filing cabinets. One for Syrins memories and one for Kyles. I can update this system later but for now, this is my best idea.

I spent another hour going through memories and sorting them. After all that work, I went straight to sleep. The next morning throughout the entire day, I used Magic Sense and learned a few things. Magic Sense has levels just like my manipulation skills. With every level, the radius of Magic sense increases by one foot. The default radius at level one is five feet around me in every direction. After using it all day, It went up to level two. It also helped immensely in the martial arts portion of my battle energy training. Spy guy thought I was holding back in our earlier spars because of how well I did. The news of my fathers announcement seems to have spread quickly because that night I got a new title.

Good, now it feels more official since I have the title. I can feel that something big is going to happen soon. I guess it has something to do with the sour half of my family leaving, and my father's secret plans. Whatever, I'm sure that I'll know sooner or later, and Souei is to inform me if my father's plans go astray. Today is the day that Souei goes hunting for core beasts. He's been busy with the spy network and training the upcoming order members. This morning he made two clones, one to go to the forest outside of the city, and another to go to the dungeon in the city.

Did I forget to mention that this world has dungeons? Well, it does. The dungeons are just like what your thinking. Enter in and the lower you go, the harder it gets. Every certain number of floors you'll run into what I would call a boss monster, but the adventurers guild calls them advanced core beasts. I like my name better, so I'll keep using it. No one has ever seen the bottom of a dungeon, ever. At least not in recorded history. When a dungeon isn't properly taken care of, a build-up of core beasts can happen. The beasts will then come pouring out of the dungeon, and this is called a beast wave. This usually only happens to areas that don't have many adventurers to keep the core beast population in the dungeon at a good level.

Now, the test is to see if clones can be used to rank up or not. If they can be used then I have to prioritize buying a clone ability. If not then I still want a clone ability, but I just won't prioritize it.

"Alright, Souei send them out, and let's see if you rank up." I say from my seat on the couch.

"Yes, Master." He replied. The clones disappeared and we waited.

'System, inform me if Souei Ranks up.'

{Notification set.}

We waited and waited, but didn't get any notification.

"Souei, how far along are the clones?" I ask.

"The one that went to the forest is already at the center, and the one that went to the dungeon is on floor 15." He says.

"Then It seems clones can't be used to rank up." I said sullenly.

"It's alright, Master. I don't need to rank up to protect you." He says.

"Yes, I know but I wanted to get a clone ability and cheese my way up the ranks." I said with anime tears flowing down my face. I think the earth part of me is kicking in. On earth, I was one of those people that would find glitches in games and cheese my way to the top. So, my dream of doing that in real life is now ruined. At least I have the System. I wipe the tears from my eyes and get serious again. "Souei, how strong are your clones compared to you?" I ask.

"Each clone has 1/10th of my power with all of my abilities." Souei says.

"That's good enough. I want you to spend six hours a day diving into the dungeon. While you're gone I want a guard detail of ten of your clones." I say.

"It will be done, Master. I'll start tomorrow." He says.

"Good. Also, try to remember that adventurers make a living off of that dungeon, and the kingdom gains resources and tax money from it. Don't turn the dungeon into a barren cavern. Go easy on the first 50 or so floors, and even after that don't wipe out all the core beasts. If you make it to the end of the Dungeon inform me before taking any actions." I order. I can't have one of the kingdom's resources run dry because my overpowered servant needed to rank up. Also maybe there's a dungeon master at the bottom of the dungeon, and maybe they came from earth too. It could be the copious amount of novels and fan fiction I've read back on earth, but it's possible that's what would be at the end of the dungeon. If it's not that then it's probably some giant boss monster.

POV Queen

It's been a week since we left the palace, and I hate traveling for this long. We needed to leave to set father's plans into motion. Hopefully we arrive in father's territory soon. This would've been so much easier if that child was never born, and that horrid woman never married Henry. Our marriage wasn't the best, but I was trying. Then he had to marry another woman and ruin it all. That's when father started planning the king's death, or maybe he was planning it all along. I'm not sure because it's hard to tell with my father. Now he names that child the crowned prince over his eldest son. Where did everything go wrong? Well, it's my son's right to be king as the eldest son should, and not that annoyance. My son deserves that throne and I'll make a path for him even if blood has to be shed. I'm scared for the coming months, but I have to persevere for Alexander.
