C14 Aftermath & Spending SP

"I will be naming my second son, Syrin Fortis as my new heir and crowned prince of the Fortis kingdom." The king decreed, and all hell broke loose. The Queen froze in place and just stared at me like I ruined her life. My brother the former crowned prince fainted on the spot, and every faction seemed to react differently. The die-hard members of the former crowned princess faction disagreed vehemently. My faction had wide smiles plastered on their faces, and of course, the king's faction just nodded along with whatever my father said.

"Aaaaah!" When the former crowned prince fainted, the Queen shrieked like a banshee.

"Can a servant get the palace doctor, and move my son to his bedroom." The king says, as he shakes his head.

The Queen follows her son out of the throne room, but not before giving me a glare that screamed trouble. When they were finally gone, I turn to my mother and see her smiling with tears flowing from her eyes. I guess she was worried about what would happen to us if the former crowned prince became king. Now that I'm to be the next king, it must feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

"That concludes today's announcement. Please retire to your rooms, and I'll have the servants notify you when dinner is ready." The king says, and every noble filed out of the room leaving only my parents and me.

"So, what brought this on, Dad?" I ask, as I take a seat on the throne.

"Make yourself comfortable, why don't you?" My father says sarcastically.

"I will, thanks." I reply back, and my mother laughs from beside me.

"Well, I thought you would make a good king, someday." He says.

"Thanks, dad." I said. I know that's not the real reason, but I think he means what he said. A few days later things started to get interesting. Late one night Souei appears in my room to bring me some news.

"Master." He says, waking me up. "I have some news that you may find interesting."

"Alright, I'm up. Get me a glass of juice before we get into this." I say, as I get out of bed and sit on the couch. Souei vanishes and returns with a glass of pineapple juice. A good thing about this kingdom is that it's located on the coast of the continent, so the coastal areas grow pineapples of which I love to eat. Drinking my juice and waking myself from my sleepy state, I look at Souei waiting for him to speak.

"They've made their move. The Queen and the former Crowned Prince have left the palace, and they're headed towards Duke Freemont's territory." He says.

"I wonder what my father's plans are?" I ask rhetorically.

"I could easily tell you if you would allow me to." He suggests.

"No, your clones are there to guard my parents, not to spy on them. Just tell me if the plan my father has is going in the direction he wants or not." I said.

"It's definitely going in the direction your father wants." He informs.

"Good, then there's no need for me to get involved, yet." I say, and head back to sleep.

The next morning, I decided to browse the system shop for anything interesting. First I look through the Harry Potter section.

Good things are expensive, but why the hell would someone want Lycanthropy? It just sounds like a pain to deal with, unless you find a way to control it. Hmm, how many shop points do I have?

I can't afford Occlumency and Legilimency, so I should just get Occlumency for now. Better to be safe than sorry.

Occlumency: The act of magically closing one's mind against any form of mind-reading. A person who practices this art is known as an Occlumens.

Now I only have 1000 shop points left, so let's hope that Souei's world has some interesting powers for cheap. I remember the big ones like great sage and predator, but those are probably astronomically expensive.

Yup, as expensive as I thought. Book creation would come in handy for when I'm trying to revamp the kingdom. Book creation would allow me to create books that I've read. Now that would be great for the creation of schools because I can print every school book I've read from earth. Maybe I've also read some books that can give me ways to improve the kingdom. For example, the way to create asphalt and concrete, or the typewriter and camera. I'm hoping that I just glanced at a book like that because then I would at least have something to go off of. Also, it would be nice to have some reading material to keep me busy during downtime. Maybe I can also find a way to make the printing press, so I'm not a one-man printing firm.

I think I'll go with magic sense for now though. I'm in no position to revamp the kingdom yet, and 500 SP is about 5 weeks of work. I'll just get book creation in five weeks that way I can study, and have some leisure reading.

Magic Sense: the ability to see 360 degrees around yourself, without a single blind-spot. With this, even if your eyes and ears are crushed, you can continue combat. Ambushes become impossible since the users are aware of their environment in battle even if they are blind or deaf. Magic Sense also grants the ability to understand the intent of spoken words even if the language of the conversation partner is unknown.

Good, now to test out my powers, and wait for whatever my father is planning to become more clear to me.
