'Where is she? Also, what the heck is happening right now?'
He thought as he kept on going forward and after some time, he managed to see what was in front of them and he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the sight he was seeing.
'O-kay? Now, what is this? Someone's causing a scene?'
Jeffrey thought and since no one is going to stop them, he should do something before it escalates even further.
As he was about to take a step forward, a sudden voice rang inside his head that made him halt his steps before he even went further.
« ….. "Back down, Zenon. This is a fight between adventurers and no nobles should interfere. You're on a secret mission, right? Don't show yourself that easily and there are chances that some nobles are under disguise lurking around the city. Hide for now. Let me take care of this matter." ….. »
Jeffrey heard the familiar tone that came through his head, and he looked around to find that woman within the crowd.
Not long enough, he managed to spot Scarlette.
The crimson-haired woman was not far away from his place, but Scarlette didn't look at his direction. Instead, she used some sort of magic transmission to pass a message through his mind.
'Telepathy?! T-that's a high-tier magic spell! How come Scarlette learned that spell… w-wait a minute! She's a Swordmaster, right?! H-how in the world…. Does this mean… she's a mage… or more precisely…. A Sorcerer?!'
Jeffrey thought for a moment and then, had a perplexed expression on his face as he frowns a bit as he discovered something about the crimson-haired woman.
'I never expected her to perform such high-tier spell! Also, this is the first time that I saw her wield magic in three years that I have known her.'
Jeffrey thought but shook off his head because that wasn't important right now.
As for what she said, he didn't go and intervene as Scarlette's advice and the crimson-haired woman was right.
He shouldn't cause a scene here because he's on a secret mission that His Majesty, the Emperor ordered him and as for what Scarlette stated earlier, there might be nobles in disguise that were around in this place, so he needs to be careful.
'Haist! Just let Scarlette handle this matter since this matter is between adventurers and I know she would intervene if situations had escalated even further.'
With that thought, he compromised and settled on the other side and became a bystander for this situation.
Scarlette, on the other hand, was not far away from Jeffrey's place as the crimson-haired woman watches the commotion taking place in front of them.
From her spot, she saw Ryan at the center, unsheathed his sword, and pointed at the other man in front of him.
The crimson-haired woman looked over at the other man who had a bulky appearance and a hammer on his shoulder as that unknown man had a proud smirk written on his face as he looked down on Ryan.
When Scarlette first came here and saw the commotion in front of her, she didn't intervene immediately and hide away her presence within the public, so that no one would detect her.
At first thought, she wanted to intervene before it escalated into a huge ruckus since this is a city and at this moment, there are many commoners at the scene, and they would be involved if a huge fight escalates here.
However, her worries calm down when the crimson-haired woman noticed that most of the guards who were stationed at the rear entrance of the gate are now assisting some of the spectators not to be on the range and that makes her didn't intervene with their task.
Also, there is another reason for her not to get involved for a moment.
She wanted to know what Ryan would do in this situation.
'Since back from where he came from, he is a noble… although a fallen noble to be exact from the past but right now…. since "Ryan Wayne" is working with [that person] … I guess I could no longer addressed him as a fallen noble anymore….'
As she thought of that, the crimson-haired woman looked at the other adventurer opposite to Ryan's and from one look, she knew that person.
From what she could remember, during one of the subjugation missions issued by the guild, the crimson-haired woman happened to be part of his group temporarily and that man happens to be the party leader.
'However, at that moment, I temporarily took over the leadership of his party due to his incompetence and most of the members of his party were either receive a fatal injury or having blood lost during the fight…'
Just thinking about that time makes her irritated because of that idiot's fault.
And now, that very idiot that she speaks of, was now harassing her injured companion.
Scarlette might be the highest rank adventurer, but she never oversteps her boundaries, and she respects other people for their own strength.
She is the type of person who wouldn't look into their rank and status of other people but rather, she preferred to see for herself their own strengths and their efforts despite their situation.
That's why Scarlette distanced herself from the other adventurers because most of them are being way too arrogant just because their ranks are higher than the others.
One of the reasons why Scarlette didn't like to have a party or take a companion with her was because, first of all, she didn't like to be restricted or even follow orders from someone else.
And secondly, she didn't like the attitudes and personalities of every adventurer around her and of course, there was no one she could trust any of them.
That is the reason why she had the reputation of being a cold and indifferent person amongst her fellow adventurers.
When she first started as a lower-rank adventurer, she never joined in any party, and she prefers to do missions alone without anyone disturbing her.
