Lost Library

The flicker of torches was casting long shadows across towering shelves stacked high with books, scrolls, and ancient manuscripts. The air was musty and damp, with the scent of old paper and leather filling Onyx's nostrils, and the gloomy atmosphere sent shivers down her spine. Onyx stepped inside, activating her shadow sense skill to enhance her awareness of the surroundings. She noticed a thick layer of dust covering everything, and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. It was clear that this place had been abandoned for a very long time, and the only sounds came from the occasional flutter of a bat's wings or the scurrying of some small creature in the shadows. There was no doubt that she was probably the first adventurer ever to set foot in this place.

Onyx knew she had to be careful. She had no idea what lay hidden among the shelves of the library or if any other creatures lurked within. She kept her senses sharp, relying on her shadow sense to detect any movements in the darkness. Suddenly, she stumbled upon a dusty tome lying on the ground. She picked it up and wiped off the grime to reveal the title, "The History of the Forgotten Kingdom." Onyx felt a surge of excitement as she realized that she may have just discovered a valuable piece of lost history. With renewed vigor, she pressed on, scanning the shelves for more treasures. She found books on alchemy, ancient weapons, and even spells. It was as if she had stumbled upon a treasure trove of forgotten knowledge.

Onyx continued to explore the library, into the labyrinthine maze of shelves and alcoves. She came across a section that appeared to be dedicated to dark magic, filled with books bound in black leather and inscribed with sinister symbols. She was sure some of the books would be useful, since she was herself a dark mage. She noticed some titles that were particularly enticing, such as "Dimensional Magic", or "Mana Arts", and stashed them inside her leather bag. She wondered why such books would be hidden away in this secret library. Was this room meant to be a forbidden archive, a place to store knowledge that was too dangerous for the outside world?

Suddenly, Onyx found herself face to face with a creature she had never seen before. It was like a twisted version of a human, with gnarled fingers and razor-sharp teeth. It was a creature from the darkest corners of the world, a creature that should never have existed. The figure was cloaked in shadows, and at first Onyx couldn't make out any details. But as she stepped closer, she realized that it was a humanoid figure, dressed in tattered robes and hunched over a thick, leather-bound tome.

Onyx took a step forward, holding out her hand in a gesture of peace. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice echoing through the library. "What are you doing here?". The figure hesitated, then slowly stood up, revealing itself to be a goblin. Its skin was pale and scaly, and it wore a tattered robe that was several sizes too large for its small frame. Onyx could see that it was holding a book, but she couldn't make out the title. "I am Muck," the goblin said in a trembling voice. "I come here to learn. To study the ways of magic."
