Chapter 77 : Friendly Neighbourhood Spider Man

"Thank you for accepting the interview with Daily Bugle." Peter Parker sighed in relief. His first interview as an official reporter was a success, and as a low-level street reporter, he felt that he had taken the first step in his career. He believed that with hard work, success would follow.

After sharing the good news with Aunt May, she embraced him enthusiastically, expressing her joy. Peter decided to wait a few days to stabilize before telling his best friend Harry the good news. He also planned to celebrate with his girlfriend Mary Jane and his friend Gwen Stacy.

As he returned to Daily Bugle, Peter walked into the newspaper office and was shocked to see several policemen inside. The lady at the front desk called him urgently.

"Peter, you're back. Thank goodness you're okay."

"What happened, Cynthia?"

"Eddie Brock, Eddie Brock has just been here, and he's become violent. Look at the wall; that's what he punched out."

Peter turned to see prints covering the wall, with a hollow spot in the middle shattered by a punch.

"Cynthia, did Eddie Brock do this?"

"Yes, he came to the newspaper looking for you, Miss Ivy, and President Harvey, but none of you were here. He left after causing a lot of damage."

"Oh no! President Harvey and Miss Ivy are at the banquet, right? Where is it located?"

"The Hilton Hotel. The police have already rushed past. Peter, you should hide for a few days. He might come back."

"Thanks, I understand."

...

"What!"

Witnessing Harvey Jones being trampled to death, everyone screamed and backed away in horror. Eddie Brock looked around excitedly, reveling in the fear he instilled. "Yes, that's it; this is the feeling; in front of my power, they will learn to be afraid."

"President Bill, do you remember me?"

Eddie Brock extended a tentacle, leading a man toward him. The frightened man couldn't speak.

"I ask you, do you remember who I am?"

The man nodded and shook his head in fear.

"When you threw my business card into the trash can in front of me, I was laughed at by everyone. Now tell me, can I earn your respect?"

The man hurriedly apologized, pledging to show the greatest respect and do anything for Eddie Brock.

A smile appeared on Eddie's face as he reminisced about the past grievances. "President Bill, Harvey Jones was my enemy. Now that he's dead, I have another enemy. I need your help to find her."

"I will help."

"Her name is Ivy Pepper. From the Wayne Group she has just been assigned to New York. Tell me, where is she hiding?"

The man hesitated, torn between the consequences of doing it himself and potential harm if he didn't. In the end, he agreed to help Eddie.

"Eddie Brock. This is between the two of us. There's no need to involve others." Ivy pushed through the crowd and confronted Eddie.

Seeing her, Eddie smiled and swiftly broke President Bill's neck.

"You're so courageous, Miss Ivy. I thought you would choose to run away. It seems you're a kind person."

"But... if you're so kind, why didn't you help me yesterday? For you, it only takes a word, and you sat and watched Harvey Jones ruin my life."

A mocking expression appeared on Ivy's face. "Eddie Brock, I thought you were being persecuted, and I struggled with whether to help. But it doesn't seem to be the case now. You are evil by nature. Sudden power has fully revealed the dark side of your heart. You are a scumbag."

Eddie Brock was taken aback, then laughed wildly. "Hahahaha... Since you said that, then, as you wish, after killing you, the next one is Peter Parker."

Amidst Eddie's laughter, the venom enveloped him, and he aimed to grab Ivy's head. The plants in the banquet hall moved simultaneously.

Just as Venom was about to strike, a red figure smashed through the glass, kicking Venom in the head.

"It's Spider-Man."

"Scared me to death; Spider-Man is finally here."

"Gosh, I knew he would show up; we can be saved."

Peter Parker looked at the lump of rotten meat on the ground and shouted, "I'll deal with him; everyone quickly get out of here."

As the crowd rushed towards the door, Venom stood up, shaking off the impact. The self-healing ability of the Symbiote allowed him to recover quickly.

"Spider-Man, a good neighbor of New Yorkers, what are you joining in the fun? Get out of here!"

Peter stared at Venom. "You've used your abilities in the wrong place, buddy. It's not right to kill."

"Real, but I think it is the right one. I am giving you a last chance to leave immediately; otherwise, I will tear you to pieces."

Unfortunately, what responded to him was a spider web.

"It looks like you made the wrong choice!"

Venom dodged and grabbed the web, displaying the Symbiote's brute force. He pulled, and Peter Parker flew uncontrollably.

"What?"

Boom!

The sound of an impact filled the air as the red figure flew backward.
