CHAPTER FOURTEEN

She looked towards Fay with her eyes wide open in surprise. She found herself at a loss for words as she struggled to find the words to say.

"Married?" She asked. She watched as he hummed before nodding his head at her in response. "Yes, we will be having you get married. I know that you tried to put on a food show for me but I could see right through your facade. I can also see that your pack isn't falling for it. And so I will need you to get married or to complete the mating process." He said to them.

She felt her body shudder at the thought of her getting married. She thought back to what had happened to her the last time that she had gotten married. It had not ended well and she hadn't even gone through with the wedding.

"Is there no other way? Must we do this '. She asked him and she watched as he looked towards her with a raised eyebrow.

"And here I thought that the two of you had found a common ground. Like you are starting to see how alike you were. At least that was what I had hoped but it is clear to Me now that that is very wrong. I need you to try harder if not for yourself then you do it for the others. Show them that the two of you have made a united front." He said.

There was a bout of silence that fell on them. She wasn't sure how to feel but she knew that one thing was certain and that was the fact that she didn't want anything to do with him. She wanted to have the chance to leave if the need arose and yet he was giving her no chance in that and yet she was being forced closer to him. She didn't want this. It was the last thing that she desired. And yet it seemed as though she had no other choice in the matter.

"We will do it". He announced to her suddenly. She felt her body tense up and she looked towards him in shock with her eyes wide open. She couldn't believe that he was saying that.

"Oh, I know that you would be more than willing to go through with it". He said and she wondered what that meant.

"I don't think-" she started to say. "We will have an engagement and then we will need more time to get to know each other. Before the wedding. We don't want people to think that anything is off when they see that we are not so open with each other." She said and they watched as she hummed and narrowed her eyes at them.

"Well I will allow it to slide this time but I expect that you will do anything to show the people that you are in need of a united front and that you won't allow them to have no areas of doubt on the matter," Fay said.

They both nodded their heads about it but she still found her thoughts reeling over what he had said. She couldn't believe that he had agreed on her behalf without her consent. She didn't know why but she felt completely angered by his words. She felt irritated.

"Well, we have heard, a word about the Alpha. He is trying to gain the favor of one of the neighboring packs Westwood and he has offered to marry the alpha's daughter in order to do so."

She felt her body tense at his words as she took in the new information. "He is trying to do what he did to me. We can't allow him to go through with it." She cried out.

"Well yes it seemed that way but for now we can't be entirely sure. It's best for us to stay neutral for now. If anything progresses then we can attack". He said to her and she felt a sense of anger come over him. She didn't understand why they were allowing something like this to happen again.

"The same way that you had done for me? You helped me. You should be there to help before it all goes wrong, you shouldn't be there after." She said to him.

She watched as he looked towards her with a quirked eyebrow as he attempted to calm the situation. "Okay. I think you should take a moment to calm down. We are going to work this all out in the end. You just have to trust that we are going to do what is best." He said.

She was done sitting around. She had waited for them to come for them to help but she hadn't gotten any. This girl and her pack were in danger and she knew by the time that they deemed it worthy of their attention it would be too late.

She heard back towards the Alpha tent as she felt a sense of anger fly over her. She didn't know if she was going to die at that moment but she knew she wasn't about to sit around and do nothing. She had to take some action.

She heard the sound of the flap being pulled open and she turned towards him. He looked towards her in anger as she watched the passive look that was on his face. "That isn't how you act in the presence of a council member". He said to her and she stared at him with a stoic look on her face.

"Well that is how you behave when the council member seems to not have the desire to cooperate and he seems to be making the same mistake over and over again:'' she said to him and she watched as he kept his expression neutral.

"That is because you think erratically with your heart. He knows what he is doing." He said to her.

"And what if he doesn't." She challenged.

"Then they die."
