Hurt by The Wolf

Gilda began to come to her senses from her sleep even though her life had not been fully collected. She rubbed her eyes with bent eyebrows because she was annoyed by what Pipi had just done.

"Pipi, can you just let me rest for a while? I'm so tired," Gilda said half-consciously.

"No... No, Princess! We are in danger! Arthur was right. The situation here is very insecure! Our lives are in danger!" concluded Pipi.

Hearing the panicked Pipi, Gilda then woke up spontaneously. She immediately spread her eyes around to make sure what Pipi said was true. A few minutes into the surroundings, Gilda felt she had found nothing threatening. Meanwhile, Pipi was already hiding behind Gilda's back in a state of panic until her whole body shook.

"I didn't see anything. Nothing is threatening us here," Gilda said with a wrinkle on her forehead.

"No, Princess. I felt that something was watching us. I can feel it! There is more than one of them, Princess!"

"yes, but what?! I don't see anything here! Ah, never mind, Pipi. I know, from the beginning, you've doubted me until you've been panicking excessively like this. Now, I want to continue sleeping," concluded Gilda.

"Princess... Please, I'm scared."

Grrrr

Soon, a growl was clear enough to make Gilda open her eyes spontaneously. Both his eyeballs widened as they realized Gilda's remarks were likely actual.

"What's that noise?!" asked Gilda, instantly sitting down and paying attention to the surroundings for the second time.

"I told you if there is anything here. I don't know what creature is threatening us right now."

Gilda also stood up, directing a piece of wood about one meter long. She found the wood by the riverside while hunting fish to eat. Previously, she used wood to make a bonfire or a small fire for cooking. However, because the situation is not good and she does not have a personal protective weapon, she is forced to use the wood just in case something happens.

"Get out, you guys, cowards! Don't you dare to be stealthy like this!" shouted Gilda walking back as she twisted around her.

Although Gilda looks bold, at the bottom of her heart, she is also terrified. She doesn't have enough tools to fight the enemy if he suddenly gets attacked.

"Come out! Don't be like a coward!" shouted Gilda once more.

Moments later, footsteps were approaching them. However, the footsteps sounded as if they were more than a pair of feet. Along with the approaching footsteps, the growl that had previously been heard reappeared.

Several pairs of eyes that Pipi had suspected were now approaching and revealing their proper form. How surprised Gilda and Pipi were when they saw a horde of starving wolves approaching them. Saliva dripped from their mouths to indicate they were looking forward to eating them.

"Hello, sweet girl...," greeted one of the wolves with a look full of evil and a grinning smile.

"Wh-what do you guys want?!" asked Gilda frantically. Sweat shed until it almost made his shirt half wet.

"Hahaha. You told us to show up, and here we are. You even call us cowards, let's see... Who's a coward now?" replied the hunting animal.

"I'm not afraid of you guys!" This time her step back was stopped because a tree blocked it. She couldn't retreat or run in the other direction because a pack of hungry wolves had already surrounded her.

Hearing Gilda's remarks, the wolves turned their heads to each other with a sly smile. Then, as they got longer, the more they approached Gilda with slow steps.

"Don't you dare come closer! Or ...."

"Otherwise, what? We will not waste this golden opportunity. It's been days since we stalked you and your little friend, the Ili pika. However, the presence of the Jotuns with you guys is alarming to us. But look at this time, the Jotun is gone and now it's just you alone," said one of the wolves.

"Whether or not there are Jotuns, it won't affect anything! I warn you again, stay away and get out of here or I won't hesitate to finish you off!" threatened Gilda.

Gilda's threat did not affect the wolves at all. All there was, they were getting closer and closer in the wait to pounce on Gilda and Pipi.

"Princess... What should we do??" hissed Pipi.

"Relax, Pipi. I can handle it all!"

Suddenly, one of the wolves attacks Gilda without hesitation. She was shocked to the point of being unable to dodge to escape.

Bugg!

The wolf's attack was thwarted by Arthur, who came from nowhere. Arthur's fist aimed at the flesh-eating animal was enough to make his face painful to the point of swelling.

"Get you guys out of here!" exclaimed Arthur with bulging eyes and a vital breath.

"Don't interfere in our affairs, Jotun!" the wolf retorted.

"They are my captives! From the beginning, I was the one who brought them over. So, get you out of here unless you want to be a roasted wolf I'm ready to eat right now!"

"Grrrrr... Our business is not finished yet!"

An angry expression was deeply drawn on the wolf's face. However, they seemed to have no other choice, so they finally went away with a vengeful look.

After the wolf pack left, Pipi spontaneously jumped from Gilda's body towards Arthur's body. The rodent cried in a hurry because of the fear she had felt since just now.

"Please don't leave us anymore. I'm scared, sir," Pipi said with a louder sob.

"I'm here, Pipi. Everything's fine. You don't have to be afraid anymore, do you?" replied Arthur trying to calm down.

Meanwhile, Gilda is silently embarrassed at the arrival of Arthur, who has helped her. Had it not been for the Jotun she hated, maybe at this time, she would have been preyed upon by the wolf pack. Even so, it was hard for her to say a word of thanks to Arthur. She still believes that this all happened by chance. However, since Arthur's arrival, the Jotun has not turned to Gilda, who is now silently holding back the embarrassment.

Arthur was busy calming Pipi, who was about to sleep on his lap. He also slept by leaning against a shady tree nearby. Likewise, with Gilda, she tries to take a nap in the same area as Arthur, with a not-so-far distance between the two.

The following day, the light of the sun penetrated Arthur's eyelids until it awakened him from sleep. He rubbed his eyes lightly while looking around.

He was a little confused because Pipi was no longer on his lap. Meanwhile, not far from his place, he saw some firewood that had become charcoal as it had just been used for cooking.

Soon, Pipi and Gilda appeared from behind the trees. While Gilda cleaned up the rest of the firewood with her face permanently lowered as if avoiding the gaze of Arthur, Pipi approached the Jotun with a face.

"Master, are you awake? You must be hungry, right? Me and Princess Gilda have made your favorite grilled fish!" exclaimed Pipi as she pulled Ivar's big hand lightly.

With excitement, Pipi picked up a few grilled fish that was as fragrant as they spread throughout the forest. But, of course, with his enthusiasm, Arthur focused too much on enjoying the fish without caring about other creatures around him because he was starving.

While enjoying a meal together, Pipi's sight was suddenly distracted by something in Arthur's hands. Something caught his attention because blood was still dripping on Jotun's arm.

"Gosh, sir! Is your hand injured? It looks like a scratch wound!"

Arthur then saw what Pipi meant. Sure enough, a gaping wound about five centimeters deep extending his arm made Arthur realize it might be a scratch wound from a wolf attack last night.

"Ah, I didn't know that they had hurt me. Let it go, Pipi. Later the wound will go away on its own," Arthur replied casually. However, the wound is deep enough that it is likely to cause infection if it continues to be left alone.

"No, sir. The wound must be treated immediately. Because if you don't, maybe the wound will rot," concluded Pipi.

"I get hurt a lot, and that's commonplace for me. So, you don't have to worry, Pipi? I'm fine," Arthur said.

Not wanting to linger, Pipi rushed to find something so that she could treat the wound on Arthur's arm. She looked confused because she didn't understand what she had to find to heal a deep enough scratch wound.

Meanwhile, Gilda secretly turns out to hear the conversation between Arthur and Pipi. She then walked up to Arthur and sat with a flat look on her face. She didn't turn to Arthur, even if it was only for a short while. The girl then pulled Arthur's arm lightly while noticing the wound.

"W-what are you doing?!" asked Arthur, confused.

"Shut up. Let me treat your wounds," Gilda replied in a flat tone.
