Cave Alligator

It looks like I managed to get away before the slimes had a chance to find me…

Thinking this to herself as she had found a small crack in a tunnel wall to hide inside of, Scaly could not help herself from smiling triumphantly, as she remembered how she had dealt with the group of human burglars all by herself.

Even better, she had been smart enough to put the blame on the slime king mentioned by the burglar that had escaped. In the end, she had even managed to increase her level throughout the process!

Bang!

Hearing a sudden sound of stone being broken from the end of the tunnel where she was currently hiding, Scaly instantly froze up.

Outside of her excitement over having dealt with a group of humans, Scaly knew very well just how weak she was after having used most of her mana to killing the leader of the burglars along with making a path for one of the burglars to escape and have the humans not look for a small lizard like her.

Thump! Thump!

The sound of a large creature that had entered the tunnel she was staying inside of suddenly sounded out, as she could clearly hear the creature in question get close to the small crack in the wall where she was hiding.

THUMP!

"…"

Remaining completely frozen inside the small crack in the wall. Trying her best to make herself as small as possible, Scaly felt a wave of fear wash over her, as a giant scaly foot blocked her vision to the tunnel outside the small crack in the wall.

From the size of the scaly foot alone, Scaly could easily imagine just how large the creature outside was.

It was just barely small enough to fit inside the tunnels of the second floor of the dungeon…

[Cave Alligator, lvl ??]

[Description: The evolution of a normal alligator that lives in caves instead of places where normal alligators live. The cave alligator is far stronger and larger than normal alligator. The increase in size makes it difficult for it to travel through caves. At the same time, the cave alligator is often known for getting stuck and slowly starving to death when making its way through the many smaller tunnels connecting to larger caves.]

Inspecting the creature outside, Scaly had not expected to be met with a wall of text, as she felt a bit bewildered reading through the long description of what was apparently a cave alligator walking by outside.

The sad description of the cave alligator aside, Scaly focused on the last part of the description of it travelling through smaller tunnels to reach larger caves.

Did this not mean she would be able to reach one of these larger caves if she followed the cave alligator from behind…? There would surely be a place for her to establish a new home in such a place. Not only that, but there might also be something non-poisonous for her to eat!

Thinking this, as the cave alligator outside slowly passed the small crack in the wall that she was hiding inside of, Scaly made up her mind to follow behind the cave alligator.

Rustle~

Stealthily making her way out of the small crack in the wall without making a single sound, Scaly was about to look towards the direction that the giant cave alligator had gone and was shocked suddenly seeing a large tail hovering just above her.

Whoosh!

BANG!

Barely evading the large tail covering a good half of the entire width of the tunnel, Scally quickly got out of range of the large tail before fearful staring up at the tail threateningly hovering in the air connected to somewhere in the darkness ahead of her.

Feeling graceful for her quick reaction speed, Scaly decided that it would be for the best to stay away from the giant tail of the cave alligator!

The cave alligator was truly terrifying. Even when it couldn't turn around to defend itself inside the small narrow tunnel, its tail alone was more than enough to kill of a small lizard like her…

In time, she would be able to evolve again. At that time, the cave alligator would be no match for her! Not thinking too long about the difference in their strength Scaly just silently followed behind the giant cave alligator after determining that she would easily be able to deal with the cave alligator in the future.

After all, she would become a dragon in the future! How could she ever be compared to a small little cave alligator?

Bang!

Feeling her self-confidence reach the peak, Scaly was taken aback when she suddenly heard the sound of rocks being shattered in front of her.

This is… Could it be that the cave alligator is breaking the dungeons tunnel walls…?

As this thought came up, Scaly suddenly felt herself grown a bit timid knowing that she would not be able to hide inside the cracks in the tunnel walls if the cave alligator really decided to go after her…

Swish~

Unconsciously slowing down to allow some more distance between herself and the cave alligator, Scaly quietly followed behind it.

After following the cave alligator for close to two hours straight, Scaly had become both hungry and exhausted from being on guard during the entire time in case she got attacked by the large tail, slimes, or other monsters.

It finally came to a stop!

Seeing the cave alligator suddenly stop, Scaly could not help herself from growing excited.

Did it finally find the cave that it was looking for…?

BANG!

As if to answer the question on Scaly's mind, the cave alligator suddenly charged forward before a loud sound could be heard in front of her.

Rumble~!

Following the large sound of what she assumed was the cave alligator smashing head-first into a tunnel wall, Scaly suddenly realized that the tunnel around her had started collapsing!

Dungeon tunnels can collapse?!

Swish!

Not knowing what to do in such a situation, Scaly only thought for a short moment before rushing in the direction that the cave alligator had gone-

Crash~ Bang!

The cave rapidly collapsing behind her!
