Are you done now?

Link and Samuel walked on a dirt road with the guards behind them. The bald leader's name was Jae, a squad leader of the Guards that belonged to Hundei City.

After the incident with the villages, the City Lord sent them out to investigate, which was when they bumped into Link and Samuel. The situation was odd and nothing else happened anywhere except for those villages.

<It might have been because they were villages on the border, ignored and looked down on. Whatever attacked targeted them on purpose, that might have been Peter's goal>

Zero spoke, but Link wasn't paying any attention. He was lost in his thoughts, thinking about what happened to his family and friends. Why were there no bodies around or remnants of blood and gore. That was what should have been left after a fight, he didn't understand who would go to such lengths to clean up the place.

He learned from Jae that they saw some Royal Guards heading that way, which explains the fight since none of the villagers would be able to stand a chance against the enemy.

"Did they perhaps manage to save some people?" Link thought "The royal guards can't be that useless right?"

<They must have, but we don't know where and when this all happened>

"Zero, how many Skill Points do i have right now?" Link has been consuming Cores for a while and with every useless skill he received, Link would sell it straight away.

"Find me a Skill that can show me what happened" Link ordered.

Link and Samuel were led to the City and into the Guard barracks. Jae wanted them to meet the guard captain.

"Please wait here, the captain will be with you in a minute" A female secretary led Link and Samuel inside an office. The office looked average with some swords and shields hung on the wall, a medium sized desk sat on the opposite side of the door with two chairs in front of it and a sofa to the side near the entrance.

The two kids sat down and waited in silence. They both didn't know what to say or do at this moment.

A few seconds later, a heavy bearded man walked in. He looked at the two kids and smiled, introducing himself. "My name is Olly, I am the Guard captain. Sorry for making you wait"

He sat down behind the desk and looked at the two kids. "Can you tell me what you were doing there?" He asked.

"We finished our first year in the Military Academy and were teleported back to where we first left off" Samuel answered, his eyes lost somewhere.

"I understand" Olly continued "What did you guys see there?"

"Nothing different from the village we met your men at" Link answered this time, looking at Olly "As you can tell, we just arrived and know nothing about what happened, but i guess you do" Link put his hand on the table as he adjust his body to face Olly "Was there any survivors? If there was, where are they?"

Olly was silent for a bit, organizing his thoughts before he spoke "I'm guessing you learned about the royal guards heading there from Jae" He continued "I know some sort of fights happened since lights and sounds could be seen and heard even from our City. We sent people the first thing we could and you met them, but that just makes things more complicated"

"Why?" Samuel asked.

"Wait!" Link suddenly spoke before Olly could answer "You sent people as soon as you could, so whatever happened there ended and the place was cleaned up in such a short time?"

"You're smart" Olly looked towards Link "Indeed, we found the place exactly like that even though the lights and sounds were roaring only an hour or less ago. It was strange, and we heard nothing from the Royal family too"

Link and Samuel left the office a little while later and headed towards the closest Inn. They could do nothing at the moment and Olly informed them that the City Lord sent messengers to the Royals asking about the incident. Going back there won't change anything and Link didn't hear back from Zero yet.

They rented one room with 2 beds and they settled there. Later on they both went to the Adventurer's Guild and got themselves a new Guild Card. Their old cards from the other continent are useless here, so all they could do was start over.

Link had no interest in doing any quests as he had enough gold for him to live a comfortable life. So they waited.

A couple of days later, Link saw odd movements in the guards barracks and in the castle. People were going in and out while the security around the City gates was reinforced. Guards were patrolling the streets more with armor Link didn't see before.

"What're they doing?" Samuel asked, standing next to Link. He noticed their odd behavior as well and was getting anxious. "Not sure" Link answered "Why don't we go and ask"

They both headed towards the Guards barracks, but as they got closer, a group of guards blocked their way, their hands were on their weapons as they commanded "You are not allowed to get any closer, please go back to where you came" The guards were heavily armored with their heads covered by helmets. Link wasn't in the mood for any games as the captain promised to inform them if anything happened.

"We would like to speak with the Guard captain" Said Link, looking towards the barracks.

"The captain is busy and has no time to speak with kids, step back or you'll be arrested for trespassing" The guard spoke, this time he pulled his sword a little from the scabbard.

"I don't have time for this bullshit" Said Link, putting his hand on Samuel's shoulder and muttered "Recollection!"

The two kids vanished from their spot, appearing inside a familiar office. Olly was sitting on his desk, papers piled on it as a couple of people sat in front of him. The moment Link and Samuel appeared, all three men stood, unsheathing their weapons.

"Link, Samuel? How'd you two get in here?" Olly recognized the two and put his weapon away. He looked at the two men not doing the same, he explained "They are the two students from the Military Academy i told you about, sir"

Olly was speaking to someone, but not with the two in front of him. Olly was looking right behind Link, where an old man wearing a magician's robe sat on a sofa. He had a cup in his hand as he took another sip. "Impressive Spell" He commented, and gestured with his head to the two men. They nodded and put their weapons away and sat back down.

Link looked at the man and he could see he was old, his beard and hair were white. He looked exactly like what someone from his old world would imagine a magician to look like. "My name's Luke, pleasure to meet you both" Luke smiled.

"These two kids dared to barge in here like this, this should not be ignored" One of the two men spoke. He had long black hair with a band holding it back on his head, while the other man had a mask that covered the bottom half of his face with a scar that went down his cheek.

"I don't give a shit what you think" Said Link. His family and whole village might be alive somewhere and he wasn't going to let these people waste more time, he looked at Olly and spoke again "You promised to tell us if anything happened"

"You dare!" The man, hearing Link's comment, stood back up and grabbed his weapon. "Sit down Nill, you'll lose" Luke spoke.

"What?" Nill was the man with the long hair. "Sir, you think I would lose to this kid?" He looked kind of hurt, like his girlfriend just broke up with him.

"Don't take it to heart. You are strong compared to many, but when this kid teleported in here, I sensed his Aura" Luke said, looking at Link "You're no average kid are you" He smiled.

Link didn't like the way Luke was looking at him, so he ignored him and looked at Olly. "You gonna tell us what's happening or what?"

"You arrogant brat" Nill stood back up again. He couldn't believe what Luke said to be true. He was one of the top soldiers in the area, he trained everyday in extreme conditions, but now he's being told that he's weaker than a 15 year old kid? No way.

Null took a step forward, he unsheathed his sword and went for the attack. Olly would have stopped this by now, but after hearing Luke's comment, he was curious.

Luke looked at the two with interest. "It worked!" He thought "Now show me what you got, kid" Luke spoke those words on purpose, he wanted to see if what he sensed from the kid was real or not. So peaking everyone's interest to the point that they wouldn't stop this, and aggravating Nill enough to have him attack for real was what he was aiming for.

Link looked at Nill's sword heading his way and sighed. "Heavy Strike!" He muttered.

Link's Mana started to drop, losing around 20 000 MP easily. A dagger was already in his hand being swung towards Nill's sword. "This should be more than enough" Link thought.

Boom!

A glass like shards fell everywhere, while Nill was sitting on the floor, looking up at Link.

Nill knew very well what those glass like shards were. "Master Luke's barrier?" He thought in shock, and he was not the only one.

Luke wanted to see what Link could do and stop the fight in the middle, but he didn't think that his precious barrier spell would be broken with only one strike from a first year Academy student.

Link looked back at Luke. "Are you done now?"
