I kept still as Rosalie let her pain out, for every whimper she made I would promise myself once more to never let anything or anyone hurt her.
It took Rosalie, 2 hours to regain her calm. Through those excruciating hours, all I could do to support her was rub her back and stay strong.
Once she was completely calm, she stayed in my arms before saying. "Thanks I really needed this."
I smiled at her before planting a kiss on her forehead. "Anytime."
" We should get back to my house your family is probably worried sick about you." Rosalie said as she turned the ignition in her car.
" Oh yeah, completely forgot about that. Do you think they'll notice any difference?" I asked while gesturing to my face.
" Hardly you're as pale as you were before and your eyes are still red they may be a little more vivid but not a flagrant difference. Your face looks more perfect than before but they'll probably not notice." Rosalie said before gesturing to my naked chest. " But that is sure to get their attention she added."
I quickly remembered how cold it was supposed to be and immediately ran out of her car and lifted some planks from what was left of my house. I managed to find a crewneck that didn't look as damaged as the other clothes sprawled on the floor. And quickly jumped back in Rosalie's car.
" How do I look I asked?" while looking at her.
She stretched her hand and messed up my hair before nodding. " Like someone who has just survived a storm." She stated before she started driving toward her house.
The drive there was spent in comfortable silence as we noticed a couple of fallen trees due to the tornado. " Hey Rose, do you know if there's any other damage except my destroyed house and the couple of fallen trees?" I asked.
" Carlisle said there were a couple of road accidents but fortunately no one was killed, as for houses apart from yours no other house was demolished in Forks." Rosalie said while getting in her driveway.
I frowned at how she specified in Forks wondering if maybe some casualties came up outside of the small town.
Rosalie noticed my pondering look and added, " You don't have to worry no one died as far as we know. A couple of wounded but no casualties were announced yet." Rosalie said trying to reassure me.
I gave Rosalie an uneasy smile as I crossed my fingers. " Hope it stays that way." I said.
She just smiled at me as she parked her car and got out.
I quickly followed after her as we entered her house and were met with her whole family and mine tucked in in the living room.
They seemed to be playing some board game, as they didn't notice our arrival. Bella had a hot chocolate cup in her hand while my father seemed to be drinking tea. All the Cullens had glasses with different drinks all pretending to be as human as possible.
Alice was the first to notice me as she sprung on her feet and lunged at me squeezing me in a her arms with all her strength. " Theo! We were so worried about you!" Alice exclaimed.
Immediately Bella and my Dad turned around and looked at me with wide eyes. Now that I looked at their facial features I could see how tired they were. They had bags under their eyes and Bella seemed to have been crying.
I hugged Alice in my arms as I whispered, " I missed you too." Before letting her go, noticing the approaching Bella.
Bella clumsily ran toward me as she almost fell and proceeded to hug me while crying. "Oh my god! I thought you died!" Bella said as she kept crying in my arms.
My father soon followed as he simply hugged me while saying. " Good to have you back." I could see he was trying to hold his tears as he had watery eyes.
I smiled at them before hugging both of them in my arms making sure I don't crush them in the process. Their smells barely bothered me since I was still full from the moose I ate earlier.
After a couple of minutes in my arms my cold temperatures seemed to get Bella's attention as she separated from me.
" Oh my god you're so cold!" Bella exclaimed as she walked to the couch and brought me the blanket she had been using.
" Thanks." I said before wrapping myself in the piece of fabric.
I followed them to the living room as I greeted each and everyone of the Cullens.
My father and Bella sat me between them, wanting to keep me as close to them as possible. " What happened?" Bella asked, "We've been looking for you everywhere."
I sat down comfortably as I dove into the tale I had prepared.
" Rosalie wanted to drive me home but I instead insisted on going by foot. I hadn't had my daily jog that day and wanted to keep myself in shape. So I went for a run, it should have taken me a maximum of an hour to get back home but I was caught in the middle of that huge storm. And when the Tornado fell from the sky, I ended up taking refuge in the forest."
" Once the Tornado passed Forks I tried finding my way back home but couldn't. The strong Tornado had changed the shape of the forest and I couldn't find my way back. So I've been wondering the forest for the past 3 days till Rosalie finally found me in front of our destroyed house a couple of minutes ago." I explained.
The years of making bullshit excuse for my absence when I trained my powers greatly helping in making my story believable.
My father patted me on the back with a proud look. While Bella seemed sceptical about what I said but didn't comment on it.
"*hmm*hmm* I hate to interrupt such a heartwarming reunion but I will need to borrow Theodore for some medical examination. Nothing to worry about I just want to make sure he's completely healthy." Carlisle said as he gestured for me to follow him.
My father stood and wanted to accompany me but Esme gestured for him to stay put. " Charlie you don't have to bother going with them, you're still tired. They'll be back in a couple of minutes it's just a regular checkup nothing to worry about." Esme said with a heartwarming smile.
Charlie blushed slightly before sitting back down. " You're right nothing to worry about."
I followed Dr. Cullen to a room filled with old looking books neatly kept in bookshelves. With a rich wooden classic office desk at its center.
Carlisle gestured for me to sit in the chair in front of his desk as he took a seat behind it.
" How are you feeling Theodore." Carlisle asked with a gentle smile.
" Pretty good?" I replied while raising an eyebrow not knowing where this was going.
" Do you feel any thirst or need to attack your family?" Carlisle asked while giving me a worried look.
" Not really I ate a moose a couple of minutes ago." I replied calmly.
Carlisle eyes widened at that, " Your not attracted to their blood?" He asked.
I shook my head no.
" Fascinating!" Carlisle exclaimed.
" Do you mind if I do some tests?" He asked.
"I don't mind." I said.
Carlisle opened a drawer and took a small vial containing a red liquid.
He took the cap off of the vial and I immediately identified the liquid as blood, human blood. The scent emanating from it being more attractive than Bella's or my dad's.
He poured the small vial in a glass making the scent practically jump in my face, as I looked at the tempting liquid fall slowly in the glass.
But except the smell, I had no desire to act on it. I seemed to still keep full control of my body.
" Truly fascinating! Newborns are usually very volatile and tend to go in some sort of frenzy when they smell human blood. But you seem completely fine. A newborn with such fine control over his instincts and more feral side I've never met anyone like you before." Carlisle exclaimed with his eyes wide.
" Thanks...." I replied unsure on how to react.
*Knock*Knock*
Carlisle quickly ran through the room at vampire speed before opening the door.
Bella was standing at the door as she asked. " Esme made some food for Theo incase he was hungry." While holding a bowl of what looked like soup.
" Thanks Bella I'll make sure he eats it," Carlisle said while giving her a gentle smile and taking the bowl from her hands.
Bella nodded and walked back to the living room.
Carlisle dropped the Bowl on his office table and sat back on his previous seat.
The smell of the soup made me scrunch my nose. It smelled unappetizing to me.
Carlisle seemed to notice as he chuckled lightly.
" The smell of human food is unattractive to us once we turn." He said.
" Any other changes I should know about?" I asked.
" Our cells seem to crystallize due to the burning venom causing them to be harder than granite. Due to their crystal like proprieties vampire reflect the sunlight making them sparkle like diamonds in the sunlight." Carlisle said.
I nodded and gestured for him to continue.
" Vampires are stronger, faster and are capable of processing information at a faster pace than any human. Making us one of the most intelligent species."
" As for any weaknesses we might have, Vampires, seem to only truly die when their body is completely burned. Otherwise, any part we lose can easily be put back together. Like some lego pieces." Carlisle finished.
" What about the eye colour, are there different types of vampires? If I remember correctly the vampires that attacked me had red eyes while your family has gold ones?" I asked.
" No, a vampire eye colour simply reflects his diet. When a vampire feeds on humans his eyes are red and when a vampire forces himself to only consume animal blood. His eyes turn into a light honey gold colour." Carlisle explained.
" Any other questions?" He asked.
" No, I'll come to you if anything comes up." I said as I stood up.
I grabbed the bowl of soup and gestured at it with a raised eyebrow. Carlisle simply pointed at the trash can.
I poured the disgusting content I would probably have enjoyed as a human in the bin. And walked out with an empty bowl.
In my way to the living room, I met a tired-looking Bella. She was lazily brushing her teeth in the bathroom.
" Tired?" I asked.
Bella nodded as she kept brushing her teeth before rinsing her mouth.
" Me and dad are going to sleep. A lot of sleepless night of us searching the woods for you." Bella said with a tired expression.
" Well good night." I said with a genuine smile as I pocked Bella's forehead like I usually do.
Bella had finally called Charlie her dad with seemingly no effort. Seems they had bounded in my absence.
Bella turned around in direction of the guest rooms while rubbing her forehead as a bright smile adorned her face. " I missed that." Bella muttered happily.
I made my way to the living room where Rosalie gestured for me to come sit next to her.
Once seated the Cullens all looked at me seriously including Carlisle who had come out of his office.
" Now Theodore, can you tell us a little more about yourself?" Carlisle asked.
I proceeded to explain the origin of my abilities as I did with Rosalie. Making them realize what had happened to Edward.
" Oh! That's so cool!" Shouted an overexcited Alice.
" I thought my gift was useful but yours is ten times better. Hey Theo can you take me for a flight!?" Alice asked while bouncing around.
I smiled at Alice and was about to respond but an ominous growl was heard from my side.
I glance at Rosalie and found her in a crouching position while baring her teeth.
Another snarl soon followed as I looked at the other side of the room. Where Edythe was crouched as well while baring her teeth at my girlfriend.
I placed a reassuring hand on Rosalie's shoulder as I tried calming her down. " May I know what's going on here?" I asked Carlisle while glaring at Edythe.
" Well, it's a little complicated." Carlisle said while sheepishly scratching his chin.
" It's not tho!" Rosalie growled.
" Rosalie I'm warning you!" Edythe snarled.
" Edythe twin Edward was on the tree next to your house, that night, when the lightning struck." Rosalie added without care.
I looked questioningly at my girlfriend as I asked. " What!? What was he doing there?" I asked faking my surprise.
Esme and Carlisle seemed to be telling Rosalie to keep it a secret with their eyes but she completely ignored them.
" Rosalie you don't have to do this." Edythe said menacingly.
" That creep was stalking your sister. He was watching her sleep!" Rosalie said.
" He what?!" I shouted as my eyes flared with lightning sparks.
Edythe seeing the secret she wanted to protect was out in the open could only worriedly stare in my electric filled eyes.
She might have had the confidence to fight to defend her brother in the past. But after she witnessed how destructive my gift was while I was still human. She didn't want to be faced with a vampire version of it.
" Uh-Oh!" Alice exclaimed from the side as she seemed to come out of a vision.
" What is it?" Jasper asked from her side.
" Edward is coming home." Alice said worriedly while looking in my direction.
Edythe paled hearing Alice as she worriedly looked at me. For the first time fearing for her brother's life.
