CHAPTER 11

"Mr Carlos was a good man,a philanthropist and it is sad that we have to let him go but we know that he has gone to rest beside our Lord Jesus",the bishop continued as the burial was commencing,after everyone had come to say their pieces about him,the undertaker's took his body to the burial ground of the Carlos family where all their ancestors were buried.

Mr Carlos body was laid inside the hole and sand were poured on the coffin,when it was Amelia's turn,I promised that the people that killed you will join you soon she said in a low voice.

Beatrice came with her whole family including Diana and her son,they moved towards Amelia to console her,she introduced Diana to Amelia as her daughter who was married to a white man,"This is Diana she said,when I told her about how good you have been to me she insisted on coming for the burial she said,she even brought her son,isn't he handsome"?,she asked Amelia.

Without waiting for Amelia's reply,she continued again "I have told her that they can stay in the mansion instead of staying in an hotel but what Amelia said shocked her,"my father has already sold the house before he died so we are not the new owner,she can stay in your house as well"please excuse me the guest are calling me,with that she walked away from Beatrice with a smile on her face not showing how furious she was.

Beatrice couldn't hide her anger,she was stomping her foot hard on the ground,it took the intervention on Diana to drag her out of the party because people were already looking at them with strange looks.Cant you control yourself? Diana asked her,it is just for a short while so can you please control your greedy wishes before Amelia suspects something,I hope you don't do anything to cause problems for me,you know how Alex is.

"I am sorry Beatrice said ,I wasn't thinking,"it is okay mum,I know you are doing this for me,let's just go home and rest she said,we can take it slowly Diana assured her mother.

After the small party that was organized, Amelia went home with Alex her husband,as soon as they got home,she hugged her husband and thanked him for been her greatest support throughout,she then reminded him that the lawyer was coming after a week to read her father's will but it was going to be ready in the office during the board meeting.

Alex was shocked but he didn't show it in his face,he had been trying to get hold of her father's lawyer but it was as if the lawyer had vanished from the surface of the earth,he knew he was missing something important but he couldn't fix the puzzle.

He was already stressed about his health which has been deteriorating for some time now but even the hospital couldn't detect anytime,he tries to see if Amelia was hiding something but he didn't get anything other than the fact that she was pregnant,he knew she was stressed that was why she didn't tell him and honestly he was not bothered about it.

He only wanted to get his hands on the wealth and start living with his childhood love and his son,he knew he was been heartless but he had to do what he had to do,he hadn't even seen his son for a while now,they only spoke when he called him but when he tried to call him,he couldn't get in touch with him.

He waved his mind of the suspicious thoughts coming to his mind and went to take his wine,he poured it into a glass and started drinking it, "drink as much as you want because you will soon be joining my father, Amelia said in her mind as she walked back into her room.
