Loose Ends

In the kitchen, Dante obversed his surroundings.

'A gas boiler? And a gas oven?'

'This will do quite nicely.'

'It shouldn't kill them, right?'

Upstairs, the last team was still searching.

"Alpha team, stay on your toes. We are dealing with formidable opponents. Delta team and Omega team are unresponsive." Said the sharp teethed commander.

Coming out of a room, he spotted someone darting to the right.

*BRRRA*

He fired.

"Enemy spotted. This way."

He gave chase with his team behind him. After they turned, they saw someone running down the staircase.

They immediately opened fire.

*BRRRAA*

*RATATATA*

"Agh, damn." They heard from the shadow.

The figure quickly ducked and rolled down the stairs, speeding into a hallway.

"Alright guys, he's been hit. And they run into that hallway. We've been there it's a dead-end. We have him." The commander assured.

They still approached cautiously. This was a foe that had potentially taken out two teams already.

A smell agitated the noise of the commander, but because of the smell of gunpowder prior, he couldn't quite place it. He was sure he knew this smell.

*SNIFF* *SNIFF*

he sniffed. Rubbing his nose, he sniffed again. A look of horror appeared on his face. He was familiar with this smell. He knew this smell well.

It was a trap.

They didn't corner him. They were lured.

He was in danger. They were in danger.

He stopped, turned around to shout his warning to his team.

When one of his team members spotted what looked like a person.

"THERE!!" They shouted before pulling the trigger.

"NO STOPPPP" shouted the commander.

But it was too late. The trigger had been pulled.

The hammer struck the bullet and ignited the gunpowder, exploding the bullet out, creating a flare.

The heat created by the gun interacted with the atmosphere. Normally, such an action would have been okay. But this time, the air was filled with something that changed that. Something that caused a different reaction.

The air was filled with gas or rather methane.

The commander curled up, and his body flashed with lightning.

The gunshot cause a chain reaction that lit up the methane, creating a huge ocean of flames that consumed all those present, connecting all the way back to the kitchen. Then finally, to the oven, causing a big explosion, breaking the wall and smashing it against those in the hallway.

The hallway was recked, rubbles of rocks everywhere, smoke rising, and fire burning.

The Alpha team, now laid of the ground groaning. They were alive but seriously injured but the explosion.

*STEP* *STEP* *STEP*

Gradual footsteps could be heard from the kitchen.

A shadow slowly approached through the smoke and flames.

'I've always wanted to try that. Though I picture the explosion happening behind as I walked away like a badass.' Dante thought.

*COUGH* *COUGH*

He heard coughing in the distance and saw the commander getting up.

"I knew this guy was going to be a problem." He mumbled to himself.

"You!" The commander said, struggling to his feet.

"You will pay for this. You will pay for what you have done to my team." He said as lightning gathered around his body.

With the lightning zapping around his body, he charged at Black Ink, throwing a punch at him.

A punch that Dante easily avoided. But the commander didn't stop. Again, another attack came. And again, Dante easily avoided it all of his attack. This continued for a while. The captain on the attack and Dante on defence avoiding everything.

"Fucking stand still." The commander screamed.

But it fell on deaf ears because Dante was preoccupied with other thoughts.

Mainly why this man was so weak. Why he was still holding back. Was he perhaps saving for an ultimate attack or luring him into a false sense of security?

His punches were not fast or powerful. It was like fighting with your average well trained person expect they were slightly stronger and wrapped in electricity.

'Wait, it couldn't be. Could it?' Dante thought.

" Hey, is you quirk just wrapping electricity around you body?" He asked uncertained.

"Oh, so you figured out my quirk." The commander confirmed with pride. His head high.

"But it won't help you. My electricity protects me from all your attacks and makes impossible for you to touch me." He announced reaching into his side and pulling out a knife.

"You can keep dodging but for how long? Sooner or later you will slip up. And when you do, you are dead." He spoke, laughing maniacally.

The electricity on his body then began to glow brighter and flash around faster and more excitedly.

He again charged at Dante but there seemed to be no change to his speed or strength.

In one smooth motion Dante pulled on his gun and fired 4 shots at the man.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

The shots his the man precisely in his arms and legs bypassing the protective layer of electricity he was so proud of and disabling his parts. Causing him to lay on the floor limp and unable to move.

"Aghh, fuck. How?" He cried.

*SIGH*

"Just shut up." Dante said firing a shot at his head knocking him out.

'Damn waste of my time. And here I thought he was some badass big villain. When he was just a slightly bigger rat.' Dante faceplammed.
