Internship Opportunity

After conversing with Professor Lilian for a few hours, Emma had successfully gained her goodwill. From the initial cold shoulder attitude, Professor Lilian had warmed up to Emma.

"Amazing, even I have never thought about using this kind of marketing to gain business values." Professor Lilian exclaimed loudly, her eyes almost gleaming in a golden light. "If you have such a broad mindset, why have you been dozing off my lectures for the last month?"

Although a bit stunned by her sudden question, Emma swiftly replied in the best possible way. "Professor Lilian, you should know that my father owned a large real-estate company, so the pressure has been hard on me since everyone hoped for my ability to be on par with my father. Therefore, I've been up all night in the last month, studying theoretical theory on businesses."

Professor Lilian nodded her head, showing an understandable expression. It wasn't uncommon for a student of hers to be having immense pressure from society that had high hopes of them succeeding in their parent's achievement. Businesses are always ever-changing and there are no surefire methods for becoming the best.

"Hmm, with your knowledge, you are capable enough to begin working for your father's company." Professor Lilian said calmly. No matter how well one can answer business questions or understand the theoretical method behind them, one must still need real-life experience to improve.

Emma smiled briefly before shaking her head. "Unfortunately though, the other shareholders would not be as willing as to have me working in the company. After all, it would mean the chances of them acquiring the company for themselves would be futile if I decided to help my father out."

Despite being in a pretty advanced society, women are still looked down upon in the eyes of men. They believed women are only capable of staying at home and cooking for their husbands.

However, that thinking shall be shattered by her as she would definitely show them who the real boss is. It's time to tell the world that women can also be vicious and decisive enough to be in the business field.

"I wished to start my own company and have it listed on my own effort, Professor Lilian. I refuse to accept any help from my father because I want to reform the world's thinking that women are not some plush toy or decoration for men." Emma said in a fierce tone. Her brows were knitted as she clenched her fist tightly. It was the first time she had ever shown an actual expression on the surface since her rebirth.

Professor Lilian was baffled by her dedication. Her eyes were wide open as she had never expected the student she thought to be lazy would have such a grand objective in this world.

"Since you have already made your resolve, then I won't bother saying anymore." Professor Lilian smiled lightly for the first time as she handed out a single piece of paper to her.

"This is an internship form for the current top technological business, Peach Company. My little cousin worked there as a general manager, so this can be considered an internship opportunity for you. Of course, you can just shred it if you don't want to go through the backdoor or even work for Peach Company, to begin with." She added, waving her hand to dismiss Emma from her office. She had finished all there is to tell and gave her an option.

In order to not be rude to Professor Lilian's goodwill, Emma gladly accepted the internship form and thanked her before leaving the office.

Right after leaving, Emma breathed in some fresh air as that was some nerve-wracking conversation. She didn't even know how she managed to stay calm throughout the conversation and was able to find logical points to answer the questions.

It was like the knowledge was just dumped straight into her mind, prompting her to be able to speak like a true businesswoman.

(Ikaros, did I really turn smarter and witty upon my rebirth?) Emma decided to ask the profound Ikaros for her change in a sound transmission.

(Yes, you are very welcome for my gift. I do not wish for the person I chose to accompany to be dumb witted and get schemed upon without even knowing when or why.) Ikaros held a prideful tone when he responded to her. Others might know who he truly is, but one thing for certain is that he is definitely the person or eagle to be precise to actually want Emma to succeed.

Emma knew it must have been done by Ikaros since she wasn't that bright of a student back then. She continued to walk through the hallway while thinking about the internship form in her hand.

'Working for Peach Company is nice, but that'll mean starting from the bottom. And if I recall correctly in my memories, there was an incident in the company regarding sexual harassment. It was a huge sensation and the person that did it received 60 years imprisonment.' Emma thought to herself.

This was the reality of the real world. Those on the bottom of the leaderboard in a huge company tend to be taken advantage of by those on the top. Most women kept silent about their experience in fear of the backlashes and that was exactly why men dared to commit such heinous crimes.

(Emma, do you wish to rise on the leaderboard and have your name be well-known within the business industries?) While she was in deep thought, Ikaros suddenly sent her another sound transmission.

(What do you mean by that, Ikaros? Are you telling me to take the opportunity from Professor Lilian and work for the Peach Company?)

(Not working for the Peach Company… I meant overtake it and make it yours. Don't forget, you have an insane advantage over any people in this world, and that is me.)

Unknowingly, Emma had already walked outside and Ikaros took this chance to land on her shoulder as he continued his speech.

(Remember, Emma… I have magical powers that you cannot imagine. So why don't you do the internship and then acquire the Peach Company altogether? That way, not even the shareholders from your father's company would dare to spout any nonsense in front of you.)

Emma pondered over the thought of Ikaros' advice. It would indeed be nice to take over Peach Company before it becomes more powerful and influential in Terrestrial.

Ikaros was keeping track of Emma's emotions as he continued to entice her to be an intern. (Think about it, Emma. Don't you want to be the leading figure of the business world and screw that Justin over if he ever tried to get a promotion in some random company?)

With the name 'Justin' being used, Emma's eyebrow ticked for a brief moment. She knew Ikaros was using an immoral method to convince her, but she couldn't help herself. Justin was the bane of her existence and Ikaros was merely trying to pave an easier path for her to walk in.

And just when Ikaros thought he had succeeded in persuading Emma, her next action shocked him to the core.

Emma, without any hesitation, held the internship form as she ripped it into pieces. (You have underestimated my greed for power and my determination for vengeance, Ikaros. I do not want to work from the bottom nor work for anyone else. I will be the boss and control the lives of others from now on.)

After that, she threw the pieces of paper into a recycling trash can as she knew what her next goal was; amassing an unimaginable amount of wealth and directly buying the company stocks to become the biggest shareholder.
