Twenty Five
Jie stared unbelievingly at the smirking face of the man from the previous night at the club and he felt his heart sink to his belly. At the point he knew that all dreams of having a harmonious work relationship with Mr Xhi's stooge had flown out of the window.
He briefly wondered if Mr Xhi was aware that Natzin and this man were having an affair right under his nose and he felt a twinge of pity which he quickly shoved away as he thought that any old man who married a girl young enough to be his granddaughter deserved to be cheated on. Natzin and that old man deserved each other.
He straightened his spine refusing to show any signs of weakness as he stretched a hand towards him for a handshake, "You must be Mr Xhi's COO." He said.
"Actually… that is the COO." The man said without shaking Jie's hand as he moved to the side of the desk.
