My heart dropped to the floor when I saw Axel at the door grinning at me, showing off his big white teeth.

I froze from fear.

But he only winked and then left.

That animal is insane! What was he doing here? It's a good thing I opened the door.

Gosh he's so nosy. I hate him!

I slammed the door shut a little angry.

"Who was at the door?" My mom asked, from the sound of her voice I knew she has food in her mouth as her voice was a little muffled.

"It was just a prank." I said.

The next day I woke up thirty minutes before eight, I was super late!

I had forgotten to set an alarm on my phone, shit!

I quickly rushed to the bathroom, fortunately Elenore had already bath before I woke up.

Thinking about it, nobody bothered waking me up and I had a job.

After bathing, I got dressed then rushed out without saying goodbye to anyone.

It's not like I want to work at Axel's industries but I have to, they should be a little supportive, I am trying to help the family.

I ran like I did yesterday, even though I felt like dying, I continued nonetheless.

When I finally got to the company, It was eight minutes after eight, I was toast.

Just at the entrance of the building, Karen was already waiting for me with a scroll on her face, she was holding a file on her left hand.

I swallowed. My heart stumped in my chest as I panted and gasped for air.

I quickly rushed to her when she turned away and was about to walk away.

"Ma'am ma'am ma'am!" I called out as I ran to her and grabbed her hand.

"I'm so sorry ma'am, this will never happen again I promise." I promised while begging her.

She did not look at me and instead tried to take her hand back.

I had no other choice, I knelt down before her and begged.

But just as my knees were touching the ground, I was suddenly lifted up forcefully and made to stand on my feet.

"Never kneel before anyone." Was the warning I got from an enraged Axel but he was not looking at me but Karen and was sending daggers to her with his eyes.

He was dressed like a decent businessman, his dark hair is combed and gelled back neatly but the rest hair all over his body looked unkept; probably because they were all standing like he had goosebumps but only that he is mad.

He looked really sinister with his devilish black eye fixed on Karen.

Karen was shaking by now and was terrified of what could happen to her, I too was scared.

"Do you want to lose your life?" He threatened with his sinister deep and hoarse voice. The file which she was holding fell from her hand.

She shook her head as she trembled. Everyone was watching the scene he was creating. Why does he love creating a scene all the time?

"You're fired. Go and clear your desk and leave." He ordered with a lower voice but it still sounded scary.

When she heard that, she stopped trembling and looked at Axel wide eyed with tears in her eyes. All the colors on her face felt and it was as if she had seen a ghost.

"What sir? No you can't do this." She said but then covered her mouth immediately. She regretted her statement but it did not last long cause within seconds she was flying in the other side of the room.

Now I was seriously terrified, not for my safety but for Karen's.

"I can do anything!" Axel shouted but this time I don't think he was talking to Karen specifically but to everyone in general. He wants everyone to know he can do anything, I hate him even more now.

I rushed to Karen when no one else did.

"Are you okay?" I asked her worriedly.

She was panting and tears streamed down her face. She tried to sit up and I helped her but she let out a scream.

"What is it?" I asked.

"My legs, it hurts." She complained.

"We need to get you to the hospital." I was panicking now. I'm not sure if working here is a good idea anymore.

I tried to carry her on my back but she was too big for me and she fell to the floor again and screamed.

Shit, I would have called an ambulance if only they weren't banned by the government and I'm sure Axel has something to do with it.

"Will someone help us?" I begged but no one moved.

They were looking at Axel and fear was written all over their faces.

I turned to look at Axel and he was looking at me scornfully.

"Stop trying to help her and let her help herself. She was humiliating you just now and here you her putting yourself low again for her." He said through gritted teeth.

The way he was looking at me made me feel his dominance and he certainly feel stronger and controlling but my will to help Karen and fight injustice was stronger.

"Because she is my boss." I said while shaking. I couldn't even stand up because I was afraid my legs would betray me and I would fall down to the floor again but I want to seem confident and not scared.

"She is no longer your boss!" He shouted and I got even more frightened. My heart raced rapidly.

"S...sh..she wa....was doing he...r Job!" I stuttered. "Why do you have to be so mean?" I could not take it anymore, I burst out crying.

Why I am so weak? I care a lot and get frightened too much even though I vow not to.

I want to be strong and I will be strong cause I'm dealing with Axel. I don't think he will listen to weaklings.

With all my strength and willpower, I stood up and wiped my tears away ready for Axel but he wasn't there anymore.

"Would you nosy people get back to your work!" I heard his authoritative voice command beside me and I turned to see him there, Karen was at his shoulder and he had a frown on his face.

"We'll what are you looking at? Let's take her to the hospital." He growled.
