Emotions Collide

Feeling something wet on her face she put her hand up to her cheek and wiped away the tears that had started to cover her face as she realized she was crying. Wiping away any traces of her crying she made sure no one noticed as she calmed down as the crushing weight of defeat washed over her more than ever before. "What's the point..." all that time she had spent trying to keep up a facade and pretend to be cheerful, happy and hopeful had finally finished cracking as she slowly lost even the will to live.

"Why am I even here anymore...."

As Tearia approached her opponent who was practically defeated she stopped and hesitated for a second as a strange feeling engulfed her. "What is this..." She felt like multiple pairs of eyes were digging holes into her back with each step she took but looking around she couldn't figure out where it was coming from. "I guess I'm not used to being around a lot of people like this anymore." Shaking it off she focused again only to see her opponent rushing towards her in a reckless attack trying to take advantage of her loss of concentration.

"Smart, but not enough."

Seeing how desperate he was she sighed a little as he got closer practically throwing himself at her but all Tearia had to do at this point was dodge to the side and trip him up. "He'll do the rest of the work for me." The only ways to win each match was either by knocking your opponent out, forcing them to surrender or by them exiting the arena and that was exactly what he was about to do. Kicking her foot out she tripped the man as she watched him stumble and slide as the force of his movement and body brought him tumbling towards the edge of the stage before falling off without even putting up a fight anymore.

"He must have given up..." Watching him not even attempt to save himself, that was the only thing she could think of as the sound of the Referee's voice announced her victory as a small number lit up on her wrist signaling her first win. "That was a lot easier then I thought it would be." Tearia figured she might have had to struggle a little bit more when she first faced her opponent but after the fight began she won with relative ease. "That wasn't really satisfying..." She expected a tough fight but it seems that she would have to wait until her next match.

"Hopefully the next won't be as weak."

Jumping off the stage she started to make her way back to her Grandparents. there was still some people fighting and then another set of fighters would come so she had a little bit of time before the next time she would be made to fight again. "But at least I won." Feeling a little happy at the thought she patted her pocket where she kept her ribbon as a smile surfaced on her face before finally arriving where her Grandparents were located.

Walking past people here and there she climbed up a couple flights of stairs as she took the empty seat beside them before saying anything. It was almost a little embarrassing in a way seeing their smiles as she approached them. "It's just one win....no big deal..." Running away from her embarrassment her Grandparents finally spoke up.

""Congrats.""

"Thanks."

Seeing Tearia seem a little shy Eli laughed as he grabbed Tearia and pulled her in for a hug.

"So how was it? Were you nervous? Excited? Confident? you can tell us all about it we would love to know. After all it is your first win and fight against something other than me after training. I'm sure you're feeling a lot of things?"

Facing such a barrage of questions Tearia felt like her head was going to start spinning but she was happy seeing her Grandparents reaction. "This feels nice." Smiling she thought about how she felt about the fight but the biggest feeling that came to her was.....

"I probably felt mostly anxious."

"Haha, but you seemed fine out there. You did a great job."

"Did I really?"

"Of course neither me or your Grandfather have a reason to lie to you."

Finally being able to chime in herself she spoke up as she stared at Eli practically suffocating Tearia but she let it be. "Just this once." But truthfully she felt like doing the same but she knew better then to do that right now so instead she changed the subject.

"So are you ready for your next fight now that you've gotten past the anxiety you felt before?"

"I think so...."

"Do you have something else you want to say?"

Noticing the look on Tearia's space she decided to ask her what she wanted to say.

"Kind of."

"What is it?"

"Well...I hope the next fight I have is a little more challenging I guess?"

'"....""

Hearing that it took them a second to react before they both burst out laughing for a couple seconds before they could reply. Hearing His Granddaughter so confidant Eli was even more happy. "Confidence is something she needs." She had been lacking that for a while so it was good she was slowly getting it back and he was happy this was helping her.

"Well that's a good sign but try not to get too ahead of yourself."

"I know Grandfather."

"Good, for now though lets watch the rest of matches until your next fight."

"Alright."

Tearia may have won this first fight but there were still quite a bit of people she would still have to fight. "If she wants to make it any further she needs her energy." The further she made it in this competition the harder each fight would get so well it was good she found her first fight on the easier side it wouldn't stay that way for long. "Let's hope you can get as far as possible." Watching Tearia look at each fight and study them Eli tucked away his thoughts in the back of his head as he joined her while also giving small tips where he could until the next fight began for Tearia.

Enjoy
