Rescue Of The Lost

Milky Way Date: Year 3752, Famona 23th, Galactic Foundation of Catoq Calendar (3752, G.F.C.C); Year 2038, September 23th, After The Great Disaster (2038, A.G.D)

Milky Way Location: Kambus System; The High Wasp Fleet

High Wasp had just left the space jump, accompanied by an entire star fleet. Mandy and Captain Sonomott monitored the movements of the tracked ship.

"There they are." Felix said in a low voice, only Mandy heard him. They could see the tracked ship. The scan detected the type of ship, a small Golden Zero model, with functionality to carry heavy loads.

"We will approach that ship with our combat ships." Felix said, hands on the panel. "Lieutenant Lik, Captain Ahmaria, you will accompany me with your squad. Admiral Grant, while I'm gone, you're in charge." The three looked at each other. "Fleet Admiral Sonomott, are you sure you will participate in this approach? Lieutenant Lik and I can handle this." Ahmaria said. It is true that Felix Sonomott was no longer a mere captain, he rose through the ranks quickly in the past three years, becoming an Fleet Admiral, but he was still called captain and he did not care much.

"I can't stand still, Ahmaria. You know me too well to know that I wouldn't be sitting on this huge ship while my cadets are out there." He responded by gesturing his arms. An alarm echoed through the navigation room, beeping repeatedly. "Sir, ships approaching. They are coming the same route that we came." Mandy said with her eyes focused on the screen. "Do they belong to the hijackers?" Lieutenant Lik asked. "No, sir. It says here that the ships belong to the Foundation. They found us."

The room was immediately agitated, the whole team talking at the same time, the decibels increasing by the second. "Enough, we knew it would happen. These ships here are still from the Foundation, they would track us at one time or another. Admiral, I will leave you in charge of caring for the Foundation's guests. Lieutenant Lik, Captain Ahmaria, come on."

The three went to the boarding bridge, the fighting ships were there. Captain Janna Ahmaria's squadron had already been contacted, arranging each other's ships. "Captain Poe Lamnus, I am happy that you are here." Lieutenant Lik said. The man he was addressing had dark skin, a badly groomed beard, black hair, and brown eyes. He was the captain of the lieutenant's squadron. "Lieutenant Lik, Captain Ahmaria, Captain Sonomott ... Fleet Admiral Sonomott." Poe said with a short pause in his speech.

"Please, everyone calls me Captain Sonomott, it's practically my name here, my only nickname." Felix responded by trying not to intimidate the man. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, sir." Poe said. "The pleasure is mine."

They would meet both teams. The Smoke Squad belonged to Poe Lamnus, was composed of seven people plus him. The other was The Diamond Squadron, owned by Captain Ahmaria with a total of six people. With Felix and Lik, the sum of all was equal to sixteen people. "Sir, with all due respect, could you tell me why it takes sixteen people to board a single transport ship?" Poe asked curiously. Lik and Ahmaria were also curious, they didn't understand either.

"They are not alone." Felix said raising his voice a little so that everyone could hear. "When Mandy examined the ship, she revealed three other medium-sized ships escorting the small one. They are using camouflage technology." "What?" Lieutenant Lik asked, almost like a shout. "Impossible, this technology ceased to exist almost a hundred years ago. The Foundation has banned any company from building or publicizing this technology."

"True, but the scanner still contains enough technology to detect this ancient skill." Felix replied back. "Are you sure it was not a failure, sir?" Poe asked worriedly. "I asked Mandy to scan that ship more than six times with different scanning panels, all giving the same result."

"So they have combat ships, right?" Captain Ahmaria asked, already knowing the answer. "Yes, they probably do." He answered. "Now, let's get this over with. The Foundation is on our tail."

All sixteen pilots went to the combat ships. They were triangular in shape, with two energy cannons on each side, first-class jet propellers provided by the Foundation itself. The ship's ignition noise echoed over the boarding bridge until it opened, revealing a vast space permeated by stars.

They were already leaving the main ship, one by one, when Mandy contacted Felix. "Captain," she said. "They arrived."

Sonomott used the display panel behind the ship, so that he could see those who arrived. The Foundation's ships were right on top of the High Wasp, more than thirty large ships and fifteen medium and small ships. "We don't have time anymore, it's now or never." He said on each pilot's voice channel.

They were flying in space, approaching the hijackers' small ship at an absurd speed. The initial plan was not to attack that ship, but the three medium ships hidden in camouflage. He asked Mandy to send each of them a scan of the four ships, giving the location of each one. Poe got close enough to one of them with his squad, Lieutenant Lik right behind. He fired at the ship, hitting what appeared to be the navigation room. The ship's camouflage began to fade slowly, revealing cold gray metal, with cannons to the right and left.

"My God, you were right. Everyone, stick to the plan. Hit the covert ships first, we have to destroy their defenses." Poe shouted over the communicator. Ahmaria and Felix hit the other two camouflaged ships, causing the ships to reappear. The energy cannons present in the three ships started to fire towards them, Felix and Ahmaria started to zigzag, deflecting the maximum of the energy shots. Lik was hit on one of the ship's wings, but continued to fly it.

From inside each of the three ships, seven combat ships from each of them went out to attack. "Diamond-Three, two ships advancing on your right." Captain Ahmaria said. "Yes ma'am." Jimr Gan, the Diamond-Three, circled the two ships with a curved maneuver, flying over them. He returned to his original position, shooting the two ships in front of him, hitting them and making them explode. "Good shot, Jimr!" Mannu Bleu, the Diamond-Four, shouted over the communicator.

Poe, on your left. Felix said in a strained voice. I see them. Four ships approached Poe, Felix and Jimr set out to defend the Smoke Squad Captain, taking down one of the enemy combat ships.

Poe went around to the right, passing under one of the previously camouflaged ships, with two enemy ships still behind him. He climbed quickly, making a turn toward another previously camouflaged ship, firing non-stop toward the navigation room as he dodged the energy shots provided behind him. In response, the medium ship started shooting at him, which once again flew upward, bypassing the other two ships that were hit in his place. The third ship, which did not go after him, was shot down by Captain Ahmaria.

In a short space of time, enemy combat ships had already been reduced to just six, while Felix's two squadrons did not suffer casualties. "Diamond Squad, continue attacking the remaining six combat ships. Smoke Squad, attack two of the medium ships separately. Poe, Lieutenant Lik, you are with me." We will attack the third ship. Sonomott's voice echoed through the communication channel.

Felix advanced on the third ship, focusing on the cannons on the left, he fired, destroying them. Poe went towards the energy cannons on the right with Lik, dodging the shots quickly and destroying the cannons. "Poe, drop the energy pump." Felix shouted. "On my way." He pressed a reddish-orange button on the ship's panel, opening a small compartment under the combat ship. The bluish-colored bomb fell on the third ship and, after a few seconds, exploded, blowing up the ship completely.

The remaining six enemy ships were shot down, the other two medium ships found the same destination as the third, exploding into thousands of pieces that floated through space. "I think they were all." Captain Ahmaria said. "Jimr, start breaking into the boarding bridge." "Yes, captain."

With the help of an electric hook on Jimr's ship, he began to force an opening of the boarding bridge. Felix and Poe followed him, they would enter. The metal cracked open, with a huge dent. "Everyone, going back to High Wasp. From here, Poe, Jimr and I will take care of everything." Sonomott said directly through the communication channel.

"Are you sure about that, sir? You met Captain Lamnus today, it would be better if I took his place." Ahmaria said with her ship stopped beside the freighter. "No, I want you to return the two squadrons safely to High Wasp, Ahmaria. When you get there, tell me about the Foundation." He said alongside the other two combat ships. "Okay." She replied.

With the boarding bridge destroyed, it would be impossible for the three of them to land the ship. The size of the cargo ship alone would not be able to land a single combat ship there. Poe had an idea. They would turn the ships towards the boarding bridge and eject themselves at full speed, hoping not to suffocate or freeze in space.

As crazy as it seemed, it was a technique commonly used in risky situations, especially in rescue. The three put on their helmets and respirators, turned the ejection entrance to the boarding bridge and fired. The three men flew at full speed, disengaging themselves from their chairs and clinging to the metal gate so as not to be pulled off the ship. Felix pulled an electric wand from his pocket, activating it causing the gate to open. The three entered, holding on to the walls, Felix turned and activated his wand once again closing the metal gate, causing the three to fall to the floor. "Okay, now the kids." Felix said.

They were met briefly by five aliens and a human, hitting Jimr on the shoulder before he managed to draw his pistol. Poe pulled the boy into a metal box on his left, while Felix was quick enough to pull his gun and kill the ship's six crew. They both looked at the Fleet Admiral in amazement, so this was the man they had heard the stories about. "Are you okay?" Sonomott asked as he investigated Jimr's shoulder. "I am, sir." They ran, looking at every room on the small ship, finding no trace of the cadets or any other crew.

The three finally reached the navigation room, stopping in front of the metal door. The scene was familiar to Felix due to the pirate attack three years ago. They stood with the pistols in their hands, pointed ahead and then Felix opened the door with his electric wand. They entered quickly, pointing forward, left and right, with no sign of a crew member. However, the young people were there. Only four people, and Sonomott recognized them immediately.

He untied Vantner and Blavius, who were unconscious, while Jimr and Poe untied Galeg and Avey who were awake, rocking from side to side. "You are safe now." Poe and Felix said at the same time. The Athorian and the Duronnis were still processing everything that happened, in shock.

Sonomott looked around, sitting in the ship's command chair. Jimr and Poe remained with the cadets. The blonde took one last look at the children, now safe, before he started flying the ship for High Wasp.

"Let's go home."
