Kai looked at the roof of the room in a daze, after sorting out the memories, not believing what he was hearing from 411.

[That's the basic plot. Now for your mission...] 411 dragged on, enjoying the emotions settling on Kai's face before dropping the real bomb on him.

'Why do I feel like it's gonna be bad... C'mon, speak up!' Kai felt an odd and ominous premeditation in his heart at what 411 would say next.

[The World System Power is what you're here for, right? Well I'm sure System Lord explained that you need to gather it from certain individuals. And those individuals of this world are namely the protagonist, the villain and an unknown doctor/scientist.]

Kai didn't even react and just stared at the roof, attempting to swallow the lump in his throat. But to no avail, a drop of blood slid from the corner of his mouth in extreme fury as he bottled it up.

Wow, System Lord sure was impressive! The ability to make him cough out blood in anger was unheard of! Hahahahaha..

Just then, a buzzer sounded and the same mechanical voice from earlier spoke.

As soon as the voice said that three times, the room's tile floors started moving and Mei Hua knew what was happening after inheriting the memories from the original Kai.

The partitioning process was where the room would grow in size, beds would be shuffled and a thin wall would be lowered from the roof and separate half the players. The lucky ones would be on the other side of the wall while the ones on the doors side would be taken away.

You ask yourself, why not jump on the safe side before the walls descends? Well to make sure that didn't happen,..

Amongst the subjects, there was a spy who would report all findings to their assigned scientists, so excluding the spy, the unlucky ones would go through a process of torture, unimaginable pain and agony. All in the name of 'further research'.

Alongside this there was a camera in the corner of the room, capturing everything happening and as an extra measure, the collers around their necks would render them immobile for that period of time.

Kai knew this as he had an unlucky streak during his first week and got selected for five out of seven nights.

They would put you through electrotherapy for your brain and body with high number of voltages that would burn any normal person to a crisp and no anasthetic medicine was provided. Unfortunately, this method seemed to work on unlocking a high number of percentage from your brain, as long as they did this while injecting you, the test subject, with a blue unknown substance.

Then they would take you to a room where the walls were made of speakers, even the floor. With nowhere to hide or run, a high pitched sound would be blasted through the speakers, bursting through your eardrums and tearing them open, leaving your screams drowned in the crushing sounds.

This was to test if you would awaken any type of barrier to protect you from the sound waves, which Kai managed to do on the agonizing fourth night. It was also to see if one could gain some regenerative ability to heal themselves which very few survived in and accomplished.

You would think it would stop the but there were more and more rounds one would go through during the twelve hours of the night.

Drowning , being dropped from high buildings, being put in a silent room, solitary confinement.. etc.

How Kai went through that for four whole days made Mei Hua tear up and respect the young boy for enduring so much.

'I promise to make these monsters pay a thousand fold of what you went through, Kai. ' Mei Hua vowed silently and felt her heavy heart lighten a bit.

Feeling the room stop moving, Kai sat up and was relieved that he was on the other side of the room alongside Axel, Gabriel, Neo and a girl who sat in the corner by herself.

Then he heard Neo exclaim, "Wow, they took Mark and Sean, XD. Those two ain't coming back." He laughed as he remembered the cowardice of those two boys.

"Looks like we're left with the spy." Kai muttered quietly, making the girl glance at him for a few seconds before burying her chin between her knees.

"Oo, you noticed too? Quite sharp for a newcomer- okay! Sorry! "Neo blabbered his mouth again, making Gabriel roll his eyes silently and Axel send him a sharp glare, telling him to mind his words.

Axel then looked at the boy who has been ignoring his presence since he opened his eyes on shock. He narrowed his eyes quietly.

'If you think ignoring me will make me go away... I'll make sure you can't ignore me anymore. '

Kai gulped and felt cold sweat glide down his back. Damn! Why is the male lead staring at me so intensely as if he wanted to eat me!?

[Maybe because he wants to? Hahaha. Mei Hua, you don't understand the mind of a possessive and obsessive individual. The more you push tgem away, the more they will want you closer.] 411 provided his words of wisdom after laughing at Mei Hua's situation.

'Of course I know that. I just can't decide on how to treat this boy. '

[Pft- boy!? Hahaha!! I wish he could hear you call him boy.] So amusing, 411 thought with squinted eyes.

Suddenly the lights went off, leaving them in pitch darkness.

Selection and partition complete. Sleeping hours start now. Time until awakening hours 7hrs 59minutes 43seconds.

After repeating for its signature message three times, the mechanical voice went silent.

Just as Kai was about to sigh and lay down, he felt an arm snake around his waist and his wrist were held before he was slammed down on the bed.
