OUT OF HIS LEAGUE

When Ava heard Mason's voice, she immediately stopped talking, and Maddie let out a startled shout. 

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you," Mason apologized to Maddie who was holding her hands to her chest, her eyes almost popping out from their sockets are she stared at him in shock. 

"It's… fine. I just didn't see you coming," she managed to say with a nervous laugh embarrassed that Mason had caught them gossiping about him.

"Care for a cup of coffee?" Maddie asked Mason holding out the cup of coffee she just made for herself. 

"No, thanks. I should be on my way," Mason replied, his eyes on Ava who hasn't said a word since she saw him walk in. 

Ava couldn't believe Mason had just walked in on them gossiping about how hot he was. For how long has he been standing there? Did he hear everything they said? If he did, how was she going to explain herself in this situation? 

"Ava, I will see you later at the office?"
