Chapter 2: Flashback

Despite being a police officer, I'm not that worried about other people. Not that I really don't care about them at all but, I just thought that these people who were calling emergency hotline, they knew what they're getting into once they enter these kinds of area where wild animals could be lurking around the trees, hunting for foods, like wolves. Sure, I would be extremely worried about the people when it's about shooting or any serious crime. The last time I was dispatched on a very serious case it was 4 years ago where there's a group of active shooters inside of the Red Park University. Around 58 students and 9 teachers were injured, while 72 students and 12 teachers were killed. I was fresh from college in the police department at that time and It was very... traumatizing.

I was ordered to take a four month break from any service and asked me to make an appointment to a mental clinic to have a mental therapy. I'm glad that everyone in that station were really kind towards me. Well, everyone except Annie.

We've been close friends since highschool. Annie was so cheerful and very friendly towards people but despite that, she only kept few people inside her circle, and one of those lucky people were me. I've met her for the first time when we became classmates in second year of highschool. She was the first person in that class to approach me and before I knew it, we've became best of friends. And because of her cheerful and friendly nature, plus her being attractive as well, she's one of the popular girls in our school and many boys were trying to ask her out throughout our highschool life but she always rejected them.

We're so close that we would always do sleepovers, especially when we were in academy and we would always help each other out when we're doing crams for our school activities and stuff. But ever since we've graduated from the police academy, she started to act cold around me and she rarely comes to me unless she needed something about police matters and stuff.

I wonder why she act so cold to me. It's not like I have done something wrong to her or anything. Maybe she's with another man and she started to act cold around me because her boyfriend will feel jealous or something. Too bad cause I always thought that she's cute since highschool. I always teases her and the way she reacts is really cute. Even if she's cold, she's still cute. But yeah, even though I've regret for not telling her my true feelings, I'm still happy for her cause I know that she's not the kind of girl that would randomly get into a relationship with some random ass guy. I bet her boyfriend is way better man than I do. And in some way, it makes me kinda relief and at the same time, I'm happy for her.

Wait, why I'm telling you guys about my backstory? I need to focus on my job right now.
