Tyrosh, Essos one month prior
Within a large estate, in a courtyard three children played as three women sat at a small table having a quiet discussion with three men in white armor , two were standing while another sat amonst the women.
"My Queen, I understand your hesitation but if we don't do something soon, it will all come crashing down." The man sitting at the table said as he rubbed his brow in frustration.
"Do you now Ser Gerold? Cause I don't think you really do. I just can't, I'm sorry." The beautiful silver haired woman said with a conflicted expression.
"Viserys is not only going to get himself killed, he will bring down the other children as well. You are willing to risk the life of the true heir over some man-child who thinks himself king." Gerold Hightower tried to reason with her.
"I will not kill my child!" Rhaella shouted back as tears of sorrow began to fall.
The childrens laughter died down as her shout had startled them, seeing this Rhaella quickly wiped her face and put on a smile for her child and grandchildren, after they returned her smile they went back to playing.
"The Usurper already knows about Viserys, hell all of Essos knows where he is. Thank the gods the Greyjoy's have rebelled because that's the only reason we don't have a Westerosi army searching every major city already. By you continuing to send him money you will get us caught. I'm not asking for you to order his death. I'm saying to stop sending him aid. Everytime you do it's a risk to us all." Gerold tried to reason with her.
"That is as good as killing him. He is my son, the last son I have." Rhaella said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, a son who has repeatedly tried to kill your own fucking grandchildren so that he could become the rightful heir. Do you not fucking care for them? A son who tried to sell you, his only mother, into a slave?" Arthur Dayne responded thru gritted teeth, earning him a glare from Gerold.
Once again the tears began to fall, her health had slowly gotten worse, with all that has gone on over the years with Viserys worsening she had began to fall into depression.
Her age was beginning to show more as the stress was taking its toll. They would hear of Viserys regularly, none of which was very good. He had been captured many times by merchants and magisters alike, his madness has created many enemies for himself.
Many had even captured him with the intent of selling him to Robert, however each time Rhaella had sent funds to ransom his release. This was becoming a regular occurrence.
Had it not been for the Martell's and even Stark's sending what little they could, they themselves would've gone hungry from the amount Rhaella was spending to keep Viserys out of trouble.
"Mother, I know this is hard. I understand completely, but Ser Gerold is right. You have done all you can, we really wish it wasn't this way. We live in fear of him everyday, we love you, but Viserys isn't who he once was anymore. You know it better than us." Elia said as she reached over to hold Rhaella's hand.
"I'm sorry too mother but I have to say I agree. You have done your best, we have all have seen it. But his actions have already cost multiple lives. Ser Oswell and the others died to protect us from him. I know this is hard, I can't even imagine the pain you feel, but its not just your son that is in danger. Daenerys, Rhaenys, Aegon and my son are all seen as either threats or tools to him. He has been trying to sell both Daenerys and Rhaenys to exchange for an army, or so we are told. Our spy in Pentos claims that he has been in talks with the Dothraki even." Lyanna added.
Rhealla's face fell, she knew they were right, but a mother would always love their child, even if they are overcome with madness. She didn't want to lose him completely, even though she knew he wouldn't come back, she was very experienced with the madness that was effecting him.
"Just imagine what will happen to your daughter and granddaughter if he were to get them to agree. They are savages who rape their slaves regularly and openly. Do you want that?" Jaime also added.
The Kingsguard had no longer backed Rhaella since Lyanna and her son had arrived. Although they still protected her and the others, their main priority was the heir to the throne.
They still respected Rhaella and cared for her, evident with how they still referred to her as Queen, but things were getting worse for them due to Viserys.
As they sat in silence, listening to the children laugh and play, a sudden hurried knock on the door broke the silence.
Arthur left to go answer the door, making sure to cover the armor with a cloak to not give himself away too easily.
Arthur wasn't gone long and when he return, his face said everything even without him saying anything, they knew this was bad news.
"Well, the spy in Pentos is dead, Viserys knows where we are and is bringing a group of Dothraki to capture the women and kill the rest of us. That last ransom you sent, it was a fucking trap. He was never a hostage, he used it to find out where we are. So I hope your fucking happy, my Queen." Arthur said in anger.
Instantly Rhaella seemed to age another ten years, her world shattered that very moment, and she fainted.
"Did you have to be so harsh?" Gerold said as he quickly grabbed Rhaella.
"Harsh? Fuck no, she is going to get us all killed? Even if we somehow survive this, the cunt don't give a shit about anyone but herself. I say we leave her here and get the hell out while we still can, it may even be too late. It only takes a month to get here from Pentos and thats riding hard. Dothraki are known to be swift." Arthur said without holding back anything.
"And go where? We can't go to Myr they would just follow and Myr would gladly hand us over to keep the Dothraki happy. Lys we will have to worry about Rhaenys and Daenerys being kidnapped and turned into bed slaves. Volantis is too far and we can't go to Dorne, the Royal fleet is on the move and will be heading down towards Dorne to get to the Iron Islands in the west. So tell me, where do we go?" Gerold looked at Arthur sternly.
Gerold then got up and picked Rhaella up, and began to walk back inside, before he walked in Gerold stopped and without turning around, he didn't want them to see the anger he too held for Rhaella's actions, but he swore an oath.
"Seeing as you have no other thoughts, we have to make our stand here. We need to fortify the grounds as best as we can, the one thing we have going for us is the Dothraki won't be on horseback, and we know this place much better than them. Kingsguard don't run." Gerold said then walked inside to place Rhaella into her bedroom.
Hearing this Arthur knew he had let his anger get the better of him, now that he thought about what he had said he knew that he had cut her deep.
With a sigh of defeat Arthur left to begin fortifying the house as best as he could, they had about a month before they would arrive, if they came by boat it would be much sooner, but they knew Dothraki would never go by boat, they would come by land instead.
Jaime stayed since he was on duty to protect the king, his thoughts instantly turned to Aiden.
'Come on Aiden, we need you. Your family needs you. Come home.' Jaime thought as he saw both Elia and Lyanna with pale faces full of worry.
They quickly called the children back inside, they know that help would be needed if they were going to have any chance at survival, so they would all need to help, even the children.
As the Kingsguard prepared to make their stand, Viserys and the Dothraki made their way south from Pentos. They moved swiftly but it still took time, he wasn't travelling with a small group. He had a whole khalisaar with him, one of the biggest of all Dothraki hordes.
It's leader was Khal Drogo, he had been searching for a foreign bride, and when Viserys got word of this he quickly left to find Khal Drogo. Upon finding them, he was almost killed by them, but due to Drogo knowing a little of the common language Viserys was able to communicate the reason for his coming to see him.
Upon learning that the man before him came from a family of dragon riders, he was intrigued, even more so when he found out that there were two females one already old enough to bare children while the younger only had a few more years.
With both women he could ensure he gets the son he was looking for, their fabled Stallion who Mounts the World.
So Drogo was traveling to retrieve his brides, he agreed to grant an army to Viserys in exchange for the women, Viserys added the condition that they had to kill all the men and boys, which wasn't common practice for the Dothraki.
The men they always killed, but if the male child was no bigger that a wheel of a cart then they wouldn't kill them, they would capture them and sell them. After Viserys added that stipulation, Drogo didn't readily accept. He had to think on the matter hard, this was going against tradition.
Viserys was worried that Drogo would refuse, so he decided to change it to handing the two boys to him and he would just do the deed himself. The following day just when he was about to re-word his condition, Drogo agreed to kill all but the women, no matter the age or size.
To Drogo, giving birth to the Stallion who Mounts the World, was more important than any tradition.
The rest of the trip to Tyrosh went very well for Viserys, he would finally get everything he wanted. He didn't care his mother and sister would suffer greatly, in fact he looked forward to it, it actually made him sexually aroused thinking of the torment they would suffer. He was very much like his father in this regard, impotent unless he was inflicting pain onto others.
Little did Viserys know, Drogo didn't have any intentions of actually turning his armies over to him. He could care less about a king from another lands, he was after his own people savior.
Once he had the women, he would give the man the crown he has been asking for, but not the one Viserys was asking for.
Drogo along with his men had detected the disdain Viserys had for them, they only put up with him because they would need him to get into Tyrosh to retrieve what they came for.
Viserys sharp tongue did him no favors either, although they didn't understand him thru the words he spoke, they could read body language which speaks more honestly than words.
Many Dothraki warriors had wanted to kill him on their journey, but Drogo made sure none made a move, at least for now.
Drogo and the Dothraki weren't the only ones after Viserys life. The Kingsguard too wanted to at the very least end Viserys life the first chance they got.
Gerold planned to sacrifice himself, they knew Dothraki customs as did most Free Cities, if Gerold challenged the Khal to a duel then the Khal had no choice, otherwise he risks losing his position as Khal.
While the dual was happening Arthur and Jaime would try to kill Viserys with an arrow. While neither were great bowmen, the range wouldn't be very far, so even a untrained person would have a chance to hit.
That plan was changed however after Lyanna out did both men with a bow when she found them practicing. When they saw how well she shot with a bow, they asked if she would be willing to end Viserys. Lyanna agreed without hesitation.
Although she has grown close to Rhaella and Elia as well as the other children, she never liked Viserys. Like Aiden, Viserys and Lyanna were as volatile as gasoline being poured onto a fire.
Lyanna didn't take his abuse like Elia and the others who just ignored him for the most part, they had been dealing with it for years, Lyanna however dished it right back on a golden platter.
She didn't hesitate to smack Viserys across the face every time he called her son a bastard and mutt, even when he moved onto Rhaenys and her brother Aegon, Lyanna was there to put him in his place to defend the younger children.
This is what pushed Viserys over the edge, when none of the Kingsguard did anything to retaliate for him or even obeyed his command for them to attack her, he ultimately knew he had lost his throne.
Before the rebellion he could order the Kingsguard around still, but that was mostly due to his father Aerys being alive, not because he had a right to the throne.
To Viserys his mother no longer supported him or loved him, his own family turned against the dragon. When they gave the eggs to the three children of his brother and he didn't get one, it didn't matter that they were just eggs which were practically useless unless you could hatch them, he decided then that he was alone. The lone dragon that will burn the world.
Rhaella didn't leave the bed after that day, her guilt had been too much for her to take, she loved all her children and grandchildren equally. Now her own love had ultimately brought doom to them all.
She fasted as penance to the gods, praying and offering her life in exchange for the gods help, sadly after two weeks Rhaella passed away from a broken heart after receiving news that Viserys didn't bring a small group of Dothraki like they originally thought.
Instead he brought a whole khalisaar with him, so even if they survived the first assault, they stood no chance. Three Kingsguard against thirty thousand Dothraki were horrible odds, even if you had the number one swordsman in all of Westeros.
