Primal online

Since childhood Wyatt has always followed the advice of the adults around him. Study hard! get a good job! honestly not bad advice the problem is that's all he has ever done. In the year 2200 the first immersive full-body VR system is being released and with it comes the insanely hyped MMORPG Primal Online. With everything, someone could ever want from a fantasy game, it's no surprise when it takes the world by storm. Never taking any time for hobbies or interests Wyatt's life has quickly fallen into a constant loop of mundane boredom waiting to be broken. This all changes one day when his cousin invites him to try this new game during a family get-together. It doesn't take long for a spark of interest to emerge. Disclaimer: This is my first novel as well as where I plan to simply practice writing to get more comfortable so I don't know how detailed or active it will be.

Trial Rewards (part 1)

"He wants to give up now? But why, he is so close to reaching 5 stars" Quinn was at a loss for words after hearing Wyatt's statement.

In all his years of being tower master, no one had ever ended a trial early simply because they are bored. For a second Quinn even wanted to teleport himself into Wyatt's test just to scold him.

Luckily, before he made his move he noticed Wyatt had continued walking forward instead of ending the trial.

"... I don't understand this kid at all!" sighing Quinn sat back down to watch the rest of Wyatt's test.

Next to him, Alan could be seen snacking on some fruit while glaring at the trial display intensely.

Although Wyatt was extremely bored, he didn't plan on immediately ending the trial because he was still curious about how long it would last. Trekking forward, he decided to walk for at least a few more minutes before ending the trial.

Of course, Quinn had no idea what Wyatt was thinking so he was ecstatic when he saw the boy moving forward.

Roughly 85 minutes had passed since Wyatt had started his trial, and if he lasted for another 15 he would get a perfect score.

Sadly, only 10 minutes later Quinn's hopes were completely crushed when Wyatt suddenly announced.

"That's enough, end trial!"

SIGH

-----------------------------------------------------

After swiping the end trial screen floating next to him, all Wyatt saw was a flash of light as his vision went blurry. Not long after, he woke up inside the same room he took the defensive trial in previously.

"So my guess was right! It was all an illusion" he mumbled while starting to stretch out his body. Although his body wasn't in any danger during the trial, Sleeping on the ground for so long definitely made him a little sore.

Sadly, Before he could finish stretching another flash of light appeared, teleporting him away.

Opening his eyes, Wyatt was met with the unfamiliar sight of an office. Admiring his surroundings, Wyatt nodded his head at the elegant and charming design of the office space.

While turning around to get a full view of the room, his eyes suddenly locked on an unfamiliar middle aged man glaring at him. For some reason, Wyatt could tell this man wasn't happy with him.

"Why did you quit the trial early!" Quinn shouted in frustration

Confused about what the man meant, Wyatt just continued to stare at him for a little longer while waiting for him to explain. Seeing Wyatt's curious look Quinn decided to explain himself a little.

"sigh...if you had walked for another 5 minutes, you could have had a perfect score in the trial of endurance! This would've bumped your average up to 4.5 stars just like the girl from earlier"

Now it was Wyatt's turn to be shocked, He hadn't expected himself to have been so close to finishing the trial. Of course, Wyatt couldn't really be blamed since it was impossible for him to have known how long he was supposed to last. Still, just knowing he was so close Wyatt couldn't help but feel a little frustrated.

Just as Quinn was going to continue scolding the boy he was suddenly interrupted

SMACK

An old man appeared behind him slapping Quinn behind the head.

"WHO DARES!" Turning around in anger, Quinn wanted to see who had the nerve to hit him in his own office. But his emotions quickly cooled once he was met with the familiar face.

"ahh... My apologies master! I didn't know you were planning to visit again" Said Quinn giving the older gentleman a slight bow.

Rolling his eyes at his pupils quick change of attitude, Lachlan replied "I wasn't planning on visiting again so soon, But I was tired of watching my student act like an idiot in front of a guest"

"Huh? Master what do you mean?"

Before Lachlan could reply another voice suddenly perked up disrupting the conversation.

"Ah, Tower Master look! the boys score is finally done calculating" Alan interrupted while running up with a device in his hands.

------------------------------------------------

Outside of the tower, Nikolai was preparing to announce the results of the final group.

Most of the challengers had stuck around after their trials just in case something incredible happened again, like with Hazel's score.

Speaking of Hazel, Not far away from the large group she could be seen swinging her sword while attempting to practice the new skill she was rewarded with.

SHING SHING

Her swordsmanship was extremely fluid seemingly cutting through the air perfectly with every slash. From an outside perspective, most would think she was simply practicing normal sword training but it wasn't until they focused harder, that they could notice the light fire mana forming on the tip of her blade.

After her trial was rewarded with 2 skill books, the first of which was a movement skill that would help her overall combat ability improve tremendously. The second skill however was what she was attempting to practice at the current moment, [Ring Of Fire] is a sword attack that creates a round arena of fire around the player and their opponents.

While standing in the arena the user will get a buff in both damage and attack speed, and unfortunately for Hazel, the skill required extremely precise sword movements and mana control. She couldn't help but feel frustrated at how slow she was progressing.

But in reality, if anyone else who knew about skill ring of fire had watched her since the beginning of her training they would have been shocked by how quickly she was improving.

While Hazel was focused on her improvement, a voice rang across the open field

"EVERYONE, THE RESULTS ARE OUT!"
