Liam covered Avalon's eyes, gently guiding her inside the apartment. He was smiling from ear to ear and struggling not to ruin the surprise.

Avalon waited patiently, trying to make a guess what this was about. He didn't tell her anything and just invited her to see something.

When they were about to go down from his car, Liam encouraged her to close her eyes and keep them close until he said otherwise.

Avalon counted steps, and a door opened. Now it was just shuffling of feet and nothing else.

Whatever this surprise was, Liam must have put much effort into it.

They finally came to a standstill. Liam had stopped urging Avalon to keep walking. He gently let her go.

"You can open your eyes now," Liam whispered.

Avalon opened her eyes and put a hand to her lips. She took a moment to look at their surroundings.
