The Downfall of Jack(2)

Jack's ability of course being making himself or others lucky. With the ability of making others as well as himself lucky, he and his team never failed a mission. Until today that is and while his ability can make others lucky, if he focuses on himself he can make himself extremely lucky. Thus Jack had focused on himself leaving his teammate to die a gruesome but quick death.

What Jack didn't know was that this was seen by the overlord of the place. In fact the only reason the worm left them be was because of a certain person's interest. Malorn had been watching them ever since they stepped foot in his land. His system had told him that killing this person would gain him a new ability, provided he died to 1 of his floors.

"A new ability I can gain? Hmmmm, let's see, he's now entered the first test."(Malorn)

And Malorn then starts watching as jack runs into the first level, without even looking at the entrance. Surprisingly, Jack's greatest fear is being alone so he was stuck on an island. Unsurprisingly, he passed extremely quickly as it wasn't exactly as much a fear as it was a fact of his life.

Then during the Test of Dodge, his luck ability allowed him pretty much free access to the next level. Not 1 trap activated in time to catch him off-guard. Jack pretty much cleared that test in less than 5 minutes. An extremely fast time for a test made to waste your time.

The problematic one came in the instance of the Test of Sleep. As Jack had been running around constantly for the past few hours, he was already quite exhausted. As soon as he entered the floor, he instantly became drowsy. The urge to sleep hit hard and became overpowering as he tried his hardest to resist. After 10 long minutes of trying to stay awake he closed his eyes to sleep.

Suddenly with a jolt he was teleported with a flash of green light. Within a moment he found himself on the ground outside the castle fully awake.

"What the hell happened? Why am I outside? Why am I laying on the ground?" Jack asked himself as he stood up. However it was at that moment that the ground started to shake.

"Hmm, so he's lucky, what an odd ability for him to have. However, I'm done studying it, its time for him to die. However, I'll make sure its quick." Malorn, having watched Jack realized what his ability was. Having now studied him, he decided to dispose of him and gain whatever new ability he would get.

He commanded out loud, "My pet, DEVOUR!"

Quickly understanding and remembering what must be coming, Jack ran for the edge of the territory. As soon as he left the spot where he was before, the spot collapsed as a giant worm drilled out. As it didn't catch him, it turned towards Jack and chased after him mouth wide open.

As he ran, Jack looked back to see a 20 feet in diameter circular mouth lined all the way down with teeth only inches from him. Suddenly a root popped up in front of his foot as he tripped. Time seemed to slow down for Jack as the worm swallowed him. As the teeth of the worm came down on him, Jack seemed to hear something, [ding], before darkness swallowed him like the worm did.
