Ariel wished for the ground to just open and swallow her, the way her father was staring at her sent shivers down her spine and gave her the creeps.
She needed no prophet to tell her she was in deep trouble because she could see it already. All thanks goes to the stupid revenge she didn't sort out well before proceeding with it.
"I asked you a question" He remarked with his brows lifted, his poker face was strapped in place. His demeanor screamed calm but he, himself, wasn't.
His knuckles were fisted and turned white possibly caused by the anger he was holding in, he wanted to pounce on Ariel badly.
He was training some newbies welcomed into his pack last night before he got a call from his favorite daughter Avril. She was hurting and crying and when he asked what was wrong.
Ariel was the cause.
Johnson Mills wanted to go over to the midnight sundown pack house, the moment Avril called, to teach Ariel a lesson in front of Avril due to the fact that she requested that of him but he couldn't, because he had other matters to attend to.
So he held his anger in, waiting patiently for Ariel to come back home and when the rest of the pack came back, he asked for her but she hadn't returned.
He composed himself waiting impatiently for her return and in the process of waiting for her, his anger subdued however the moment he felt her return, the anger stirred up instantly so he called her over to his room.
"You need to fight for yourself Ariel '' Ariel murmured under her breath slowly, she pushed the air seeming to be stuck in her nostrils out promptly, and raised her face to her father's.
Let him do his worst.
"I kissed Carter" She let the words flow out on its own without a struggle. It did feel great as her lips lifted up a little bit but she made sure her father didn't notice, if not he was going to chop those lips off.
Ariel raised her face to his, she wasn't going to fear anymore, not even her father. Her alluring grey eyes caught with his, her gaze locked up on his firmly.
The color of his eyes were the same as Ariel's, his eyes were the only family trait passed onto Ariel and Avril, but they looked like their mom in every other aspect.
"You kissed Carter?" He let out a muffled laugh causing his long faded beard to twitch. He facepalmed, rubbing his forehead slightly.
Ariel cleared her throat before speaking up again "Yes father, I kissed him", she wasn't going to tremble anymore. She had to prove herself to her father that she wasn't scared anymore.
She was an omega but she was never going to let herself be seen as one not anymore.
"Oh Ariel" He called softly, Ariel arched a brow questionly, quite stunned by his reactions. With the way he called her over to his room earlier, she thought he wanted to murder her.
"When would you ever learn?" He asked with concern written on his face, Ariel was quite startled by his facial expression.
He stood up walking over to Ariel standing in the center of the room, she staggered back a bit caused by him coming closer to her. All the hairs on her arms stood up.
Ariel lost all the courage she was mustering to herself earlier, before he stood in front of her now, she bowed her head and bit her bottom lip.
"You were never born to love Ariel" He declared clearly to her in a low tone while bringing his lips closer to her ear, "So you could never find true love" He avowed frankly to Ariel who stood immobilized by his words.
How could her own father say such a thing to her?. Was he really her father?, Father's were supposed to love their kids right?, but her case had a different scenario.
Ariel stood puzzledly staring at her father eyeball to eyeball, her fists balled in anger. It wasn't her fault his wife had to die after she brought Ariel into this world. He didn't have to hate her that much.
Ariel didn't asked to be born into this fucked up world, they should have asked of her permission first, before she was born if that was possible rather than bringing her into this world to suffer of pain and rejection.
She didn't wrong anyone, fuck her grandmother who cursed her. Fuck everybody who's in this fucked up world.
Tears welled up in her eyes which she wiped off with the back of her palms, "Father, please stop and tell me it's a lie" Ariel pleaded to her father with tears-filled eyes.
Johnson Mills stared at her and then tucked a strand of hair blocking her pretty face behind her ear, "It's the truth daughter, and you have to accept it" He cupped her tears-filled face in his palms wiping the tears off Ariel's face as if he cared.
"The best you could do is to leave Carter for Avril and just wait for another alpha to save you from your curse if that is ever possible, because you don't deserve Carter, Ariel".
Ariel took his hands off her face with a grunt and wanted to punch the man in the face badly, which she could never do unless she was begging for death.
"Carter loves me, father!" She roared resolutely, tears falling off her face with her hands on her head pulling her hair.
"Stop lying to yourself Ariel, Carter doesn't love you!" He snarled surly, enjoying the way he was torturing the poor girl emotionally.
"Tell yourself the truth Ariel, Carter would never-" His statement was cut short by the ringing of his phone. He left Ariel who was clutching her chest tightly and crying moving to the ringing phone.
Johnson Mills picked the phone up from his desk and answered, "Hello sweet pumpkin" He smiled, while brokenhearted Ariel watched in pain.
It was Avril obviously, that was a pet name he calls her.
"Yes Ariel's with me, you both can come in" He dropped the phone back on his desk after his last sentence and went back to his seat.
"Your sister's here with Carter" He mentioned, letting out a deep breath and sitting down. Ariel's face darkened with hatred.
What was Avril coming to do? And why was she coming with Carter?, What else if not for the devil incarnate of her sister than to torture her with her worst nightmare?.
