Chapter 3 What Happen to the ShutDown?

-Ainz Ooal Gown Guild War Room-

It is the last day of the game today, huh. I wonder who else will show up today? So far, it has just been HeroHero-san, Momona, and me. Though HeroHero-san left after a while, leaving just Momona and me, everyone else has already left the guild. *Sigh* There is no use thinking about it now; everyone else had a life to get back to, unlike Momona and me.

*Thud* I looked over to my right to see Momona slam her fist against the war table, lamenting about the guild and its members. I knew that if your avatar could cry, Momona surely would be. I went over to Momona to calm her down and tell her that it's okay.

"We both know that the guild members would never truly leave us. After all, they treated us with such kindness, compassion, and familial love and affection. Even now, they are still the best friends and family we could have ever hoped for; they just had to face reality," I told Momona solemnly.

"Since it's the last day, how about we just do what we want, hmm? I'm sure the other guild members wouldn't mind." I said to Momona to change the dreary mood.

"Yeah.....I guess your right. Let's do that, onee-chan."

"How about we go to the throne room, then? Oh, and how about we also take our guild staffs. I'm sure everyone else wouldn't mind."

"Okay, let's do that then."

Having agreed on our next course of action, Momona and I proceeded to head to the throne room after grabbing our guild staffs. Once we exited the war room, we noticed Sebas Tian and the Pleiades waiting outside, ready for any orders. It seemed that Momona kind of forgot who they were for a hot minute, at least till she read their background settings.

"How could you forget about Sebas Tian and the Pleiades? Huh, my little sister? I said teasingly.

"I did not forget! I just had to think a little." Momona exclaimed.

"Isn't that the definition of forgetting something?" I teased.

"Shut up! Stop teasing me!" Momona yelled while having a pouting icon appear since facial expressions were not possible in the game.

"Okay, Okay. I'll stop teasing you. Even though your reactions are so adorable." I said while teasing her one last time.

"Let's get going, shall we," I said before Momona could say anything else.

"Fine," Momona answered exasperatedly before giving out the command 'Follow' to Sebas Tian and the Pleiades.

We started to walk down the massive red carpet stairs outside of the war room leading to an immense hallway, guarded by 72 statues, each with the appearance of one of the 72 devils of Solomon. The ceiling has several high-leveled elemental crystals, which could fire off several high-damage-elemental attacks strong enough to kill off several level-100 players. The hallway was named 'The Hall of Lemegeton' after the grimoire 'The Lesser Key of Solomon'. At the end of the hall were two gigantic doors. Both of the doors had very detailed and intricate designs on them. The door on the left portrayed a goddess. While the door on the right had a devil. Both of which felt like they would jump out of the door and attack you. This wouldn't surprise me considering, Luci★Fer was the one who made this door. I saw that Momona felt the same way as me when looking at the door to the throne room.

Steeling myself, I went up to the door to open it, which took a bit of effort considering its size. Once both Momona and I entered the throne room you could visibly tell that the atmosphere of the room was considerably different. You could describe the atmosphere of the hallway as being in the presence of royalty. While the atmosphere of the throne room was like being in the presence of gods.

"Damn, I never really looked at this room much, but damn does it look badass," I said out loud.

"Yeah, I never really did either, but it does look really badass."

The room was absolutely massive in size---hundreds of people could come in and there would still be room---the ceiling reached an absurd height with magnificent chandeliers made of rainbow-colored crystals. The walls were primarily white with gold ornamentations throughout them. Out of all the parts of the room that brought your attention, would most definitely be the 42 flags that were hanging from the ceiling, reaching just right above 12 feet from the floor, each with a different crest on them. Near the end of the room was a short flight of stairs covered in gold and silver designs. At the top of the short flight of stairs were two heavenly thrones carved out of a giant divine crystal. Behind the thrones, on the wall, was a large scarlet tapestry with the guild's crest on it. This was the throne room of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.

Near the thrones was a female NPC who was a gorgeous beauty whose appearance could be described as divine even, although she was anything, but divine as she was a demoness, a succubus to be precise. The NPC's name was Albedo, the Guardian Overseer of the first 10 floors. She wore a snow-white dress endowed with a golden necklace shaped like a spiderweb covering her shoulders and chest with snow-white silken-gloves that reached her elbows. At her hip was a wand-like object that was about 18 inches long with a black orb floating at its tip. This was one of the several Wold Items the guild Ainz Ooal Gown had, the Ginnungagap.

After I finished appreciating the beauty of the throne room as well as Albedo, I sat on my throne while Momona sat on hers. Once we both sat down, in sync we said out loud "Did Tabula Smaragdina give Albedo the World Item Ginnungagap before he left?" Both Momona and I immediately looked at each other after saying that, shocked by how in sync we were with each other, and both of us chuckled a little a few seconds after looking at each other.

"Well, either way since it's the last day, how about we just let Tabula's action slide, hmm? What do you say Momona?" I said to Momona since she also had a choice in the matter as the other guild master.

"I guess we can let it slide considering it's the last day," Momona answered.

"Hey, do you remember what Albedo's background settings were?" I asked curiously, as I was pulling the command menu for editing NPC settings.

"No. Let me check."

"No. Nevermind, I recommend that you don't. It would be a little shocking if you actually read it all," I said swiftly to promptly stop Momona from opening the menu. I had a special surprise in mind for Momona.

"How so?" Momona asked inquisitively.

"Her background settings are just not what you would expect to say the least."

"Oh, is that so."

Albedo's Settings:

She is a demoness who holds the title of Guardian Overseer, which is the highest-ranking position in the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick. With flowing raven hair and golden pupils, her beauty could bewitch a nation.

She is proud of her position and confronts intruders as a confident, dignified superior being.

Regardless of how brilliant or brave her foes are, or whether she considers them strong, she will never acknowledge them as being equal to herself.

This is because she understands the meaning of the position bestowed upon her.

Her abilities befit the title of Guardian Overseer, with outstanding intelligence and combat ability.

That said, she is not omnicompetent. For instance, in pure wits, Demiurge is her superior, while Shalltear is superior in fighting ability. Yet, nobody in Nazarick can rival her administrative ability.

In addition, her feminine skills -- particularly those pertaining to being a housewife -- are excellent, and during her free time, she can be seen sweeping, sewing, and so on.

Though the reason is unknown, she enjoys cleanliness and her desire for such frequently drives her to clean things up.

In particular, her ability to sort out bookshelves knows no peer.

However, she recognizes the possessions of others as belonging to them, so she rarely insists on cleaning up.

That said, the items accumulated through her collector's habit are typically very messy.

Therefore, it remains to be seen whether she actually likes being tidy.

This might well be an act -- in order to appear as the perfect woman -- though the truth of that is unknown. It is too scary to confirm.

She always has a gentle smile on her, and her elegant way of speech has made many people think she is a goddess or an angel.

That mistake is not particularly laughable, given that she is surrounded by that sort of atmosphere and acts in an appropriate way.

The fact is, it would not be wrong to view her in that way.

She was originally planned to be an angel of the highest order, but she ended up with a greatly distorted appearance after being fused with a monster from the land of dreams.

Because of that, her personality is similarly twisted, being merciless and cruel, cunning and savage. She gives her enemies despair and revels in their agonizing deaths.

Her usual expression seems to be there to suppress the urges which flow from her heart -- a mask that exists to conceals her desire to perform ruthless acts upon the weak.

If the mask breaks, she would probably end up being like Empress Lu Zhi or Empress Wu Zetian.

However, that only applies when dealing with those, not of Nazarick.

Fortunately for those who do not serve Nazarick, one can take comfort in the fact that the mask is very sturdy and will not break easily.

She feels very strongly about her duties as the Guardian Overseer of the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick.

Naturally, the fact that she has ears everywhere listening for information goes without saying.

In addition, she smiles all the time -- to the point where one might say she does not show any other emotion.

Her smile is nothing more than a poker face to her.

She can also show emotions like anger, grimaces, and fake tears.

Her sophisticated lady's face will not break, even when she is torturing the fools who oppose her.

On the outside, she is a perfect beauty.

On the inside, she is a bitch. She is deeply in love with Momonga.

(A/N: The sentence 'On the inside, she is a bitch' is supposed to have a line through it, but WebNovel apparently removed that part. So just imagine it with a line through that one sentence.

Another thing, imagine having the following lines already part of Albedo's settings and every other NPC as well:

Albedo is absolutely loyal to The Great Tomb of Nazarick, absolutely loyal to Lily Mizuki, absolutely loyal to Momona, absolutely loyal to all the rest of the guild members though all orders from either Lily Mizuki or Momona come first in priority, betraying Lily Mizuki, Momona, any of the guild members, or The Great Tomb of Nazarick as a whole is impossible.)

'Okay, so that's her settings. Let's change the sentence -On the inside, she is a bitch.- to -She is deeply in love with Momona.- Yeah that should do it.' I thought to myself, making sure not to say it out loud in order to surprise Momona.

"Mwahahahahahahaha." I started laughing like a crazy person. Which caused Momona to be a little concerned.

"Are you okay there, onee-chan?" Momona asked in a concerned tone.

"Oh, yes, I am perfectly fine," I answered back in my usual tone.

"Damn, would you look at the time. We only have one more minute before the servers shut down." I said out loud.

"Wow, your right time really flew by, huh onee-chan."

"Yeah, it really did."

Clock: 23:59:35, 36, 37...

Both Momona and I counted down the numbers in sync.

Clock: 23:59:48, 49, 50...

We both closed our eyes counting the last numbers.

Clock: 23:59:58, 59---

Both Momona and I prepared for the forced logout, but it didn't come.

Clock: 00:00:01, 02, 03...

"Huh..." Both Momona and I said at the same time.
