Chapter 4: Sengoku and Garp Watches the Cursed Cameko

Hours passed since Vice Admiral Momonga presented the Cameko to Admiral Sengoku in his office at the Naval Headquarters in Marineford.

The room was dimly lit, and a heavy atmosphere hung in the air as they prepared to view the contents of the mysterious Cameko.

"Admiral, this pirate named Lucas seems to be planning something. Are you sure you want to see the contents of this cameko?"

Vice Admiral Momonga walked over to Sengoku's desk and handed him the cameko with both hands.

Then he hesitated a bit and repeated what Lucas had asked.

"This pirate named Lucas is rather fascinating. Magellan has already reported that there may have been an error in the Bounty Department's assessment. I hope there's something significant on this Cameko, and it won't be a waste of my time."

With a knowing smile, Sengoku accepted the challenge.

"Very well, I'll view it first... Oh? Vice Admiral Garp?"

As Momonga left the room, he passed by the burly figure of Vice Admiral Garp.

Garp, known for his insatiable appetite, made a casual request for more senbei snacks.

"Garp! Stop eating my senbei! … Fine, I'll share some with you after watching this Cameko,"

Sengoku relented.

"Cameko?"

Garp inquired with curiosity.

Sengoku took a moment to explain the nature of the Cameko to Garp, who leaned back with a grin.

With the Cameko placed before them, the room's lights flickered as the device's contents were projected onto a screen.

Garp, maintaining his nonchalant demeanor, casually munched on a senbei, making it appear as if he were watching a simple movie.

"The video is on," Sengoku noted as the projection began.

In an instant, the screen displayed a snowy scene enveloped in darkness, indicating that it was captured during the night.

The image was not particularly clear.

Then, without warning, the camera zoomed in, focusing on a well situated at the center of the scene.

"What is this?" Garp frowned as he observed the screen.

The well's mouth was shrouded in darkness, mirroring the dark ambiance of its surroundings, making it challenging to see inside.

Sengoku leaned in closer, squinting at the image inside the well.

Suddenly, a hint of white emerged from the depths, and a small head popped out.

It was a woman with long, disheveled black hair, obscuring her face.

She slowly emerged from the well, her white dress a stark contrast to the dark surroundings.

As the woman in white fully emerged from the well, she stood before the screen, and just as suddenly as it began, the image ceased.

The Cameko had reached its conclusion.

"What is this?" Sengoku was taken aback, feeling more puzzled than fearful. "What could this possibly mean?"

Garp continued to nibble on his senbei, seemingly unimpressed by the strange footage.

He turned to Sengoku, asking.

"Sengoku, did the pirate who gave you this Cameko claim that the information it contains could be used against other pirates?"

"Do you truly believe this thing can be useful?"

Garp questioned further.

"Sengoku, it appears you've been outsmarted by a pirate with a meager 30 million beli bounty! Buhahaha."

Sengoku, his thick brows twitching, sought to take revenge by confiscating Garp's senbei.

However, before he could retaliate, both admirals felt an inexplicable sensation and turned their heads simultaneously toward an empty, dark corner of the room.

But there was nothing there—just emptiness.

"Could it have been an illusion?" they both pondered, their hearts filled with doubt.

In the end, Sengoku decided to dismiss the matter, preparing to turn off the projector Den Den Mushi and retrieve the Cameko.

However, at that very moment, there was a disturbance outside his office.

A Celestial Dragon, with the head encased in a bubble, had entered, accompanied by several Cipher Pol agents dressed in black suits.

Their arrival was ostentatious and imposing.

Sengoku couldn't help but glance at the images displayed by the Cameko one last time.

"Sengoku, if you have time to watch a video here, you should escort me back to the Holy Land, Mariejois. I'm utterly bored here!"

Saint Charlos declared arrogantly, casting disdainful glances around the room.

Staying at the Naval Headquarters had become a tedious ordeal for him.

Sengoku attempted to dissuade him by mentioning the stormy weather as a hazard to immediate travel.

"The dinner for tonight is ready. Please rest for the night, and we'll depart in the morning when the weather is calmer,"

Sengoku suggested, adding.

"I assure you, the dinner won't disappoint you."

Ultimately, Saint Charlos, despite his haughty demeanor, agreed to stay another day and enjoy dinner. He waved off the Cipher Pol agents, who appeared relieved by his decision.

After the Celestial Dragon departed, the room fell silent for a moment. Then, a Den Den Mushi began to ring, interrupting the stillness.

*Puru-puru-puru puru-puru-puru.*

Sengoku picked up the call.

*Ka-cha.*

"~7 hours~."

*Ka-lick.*

Sengoku heard a haunting, eerie voice emanating from the Den Den Mushi before the call abruptly ended.
