Chapter 322: The three agents

Guernica and the other agent appeared at her sides with a pincer attack.

"Shigan!"

"Ryankaku!"

Vivi transformed her arms and blocked their moves by letting them impact a formless mass of water with little effect.

The masses of water were then detached from the rest of her body and reformed into copies of herself.

When Vivi lifted her gaze to search for the third member, she found him gone from the place.

Of the three of them, the one named Joseph was the best one at hiding his presence.

Vivi did not have to wonder about his location for long…all of a sudden, she felt a sharp pain on the back of her head.

Joseph had somehow sneaked behind her and driven a haki-coated shigan through her skull, piercing her brain.

Her body lost its shape, turning into a loose mass of water that spattered onto the ground before disappearing.

The two clones she had created, did the exact same thing, leaving Guernica and the other agent in a state of confusion.

"What happened?" Guernica asked.

"Did you kill her?" Asked the third agent.

Joseph stared at the ground.

"I connected a haki-coated shigan to her skull…."

"That's it then…she must have died. Not even a logia user can survive that." Guernica claimed.

"It felt too easy thought…." Joseph said.

"Maybe we overestimated her. What do you think, Maha? " Joseph turned to the last member.

"She did slay Admiral Kizaru, but maybe she was just lucky…or maybe she underestimated us too much and lowered her guard. But that is just a possibility out of many." Maha said.

"Ahhh, finally!" someone shouted from behind them.

"My Lord, have you recovered?" the samurai asked. He was holding onto the wound on his chest to prevent himself from bleeding too much.

"No thanks to you!" The eight-headed creature said. All his heads had the same disgruntled expression.

They then turned to look at the agents.

"I see you have eliminated that outlaw girl… that's a shame, I wanted to do it myself…"

"It does seem that way, Daimyio Orochi. But we were wondering..." Guernica spoke.

"Though it would be best if you went back to your palace, my Lord. Her companions could be close by." Maha advised.

"Ha!, that's what you are here for!. Go take care of those guys!" Orochi ordered the agents.

Guernica clenched his fist 

"Tsk, we are not yo-" 

Joseph placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Of course. Well deal with them. You could say that is part of our mission too."

Underground, Vivi's mind was moving water around while thinking about the fight.

'I have gotten a bit careless there, those guys are much stronger than I initially thought. Especially the one called Joseph. He must be close to the level of an Admiral…had I been a normal devil fruit user, I would be dead by now. I cannot let those three go after my friends…they will need to die now.'

She continued to move water coming from a nearby river until she formed an underground deposit of water, right beneath those men.

'They are in for a surprise, hehe.'

Surface.

"My Lord, even if I bring another one, I cannot move the palanquin by myself," Denjiro tried to explain to Orochi.

"Then go fetch more servants!" Orochi shouted. He had reverted his transformation and was now in his human form once again.

He keeps insisting that the samurai bring another palanquin and carry him back to the palace.

"You don't expect me to walk, don't you?!" Orochi screamed in outrage.

The trio of agents stood there, watching the spectacle without knowing what to say.

They had been tasked with the mission of making a new weapons contract with the Daimyo Orochi, but they didn't expect the man to behave in such a way.

Especially when everyone knew that the true ruler of Wano was Kaidou.

But they didn't have any other choice.

The best weapon manufacturers were in Wano and with Doflamingo out of the picture, they had to deal with this man directly.

"What do we do now?" Maha asked.

"Be patient…well take this chance to go after the rest of the Strawhats, if we can eliminate them now, I'm sure the elders will be pleased," Joseph said.

"That is not part of our mission." Guernica was obviously opposed to this. 

He didn't think they could win in a direct confrontation against that crew. In his opinion, this short victory against Vivi had been pure luck. But Joseph was getting overconfident now.

"Miss Stussy put ME in charge, Guernica. Don't you forget that!. Now, let me think for a second, and then we ca-" 

The group was startled when the ground started to shake.

"An earthquake now?" Guernica exclaimed.

"No, look!" Maha pointed at a nearby point on the ground. The earth was moving away and something was starting to protrude out of it.

"Careful, My Lord. Stand back." Denjiro warned.

"Is not just there…there are more." Joseph looked around and spotted seven more.

"Be on guard!, we are under attack!".

From the ground, eight colossal blades made of ice came out into the open and rose over one hundred feet in the air.

They were positioned in such a way to surround the group.

"What is this?" Guernica wondered out loud.

"It looks like they are made of ice…" Maha observed.

"Oh no..she is not dead after all!" Joseph realized now.
