Chapter 82: Rescuing Celestial Dragon

Aokiji and Reisun went to check on Jack, while Byakuya suddenly received a message from Sonic. {"Master Byakuya, the plan succeeded. I'm leaving the island now."} 

Of course, the plan involved Sonic placing the Palace Mapelseciel box onto Jack's ship and mixing it with the other boxes containing the artificial Devil Fruits.

This was why Byakuya delivered that final kick to the nearly unconscious Jack, sending him flying. 

It allowed Aokiji and Reisun to inspect Jack, allowing Sonic to carry out his task. 

When Aokiji and Reisun found Jack, he was buried under rubble. Digging him out, they both gasped in shock. Jack's condition was beyond dire.

Jack had reverted to his human form and was unconscious. 

His long horns were utterly broken at the base, and blood poured from his head, covering his face. 

Even Kaido might have trouble recognizing him as one of his top disasters. 

His abdomen was deeply indented, and all his ribs were broken, with some pieces even piercing his internal organs. 

Despite these severe injuries, Jack was still clinging to life, thanks to the immense vitality granted by his Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit.

Seeing Jack in such a pitiful state, Aokiji and Reisun instinctively glanced at Byakuya. 

Byakuya, holding Jack's two tusks and admiring them like prized treasures, looked completely unbothered by his brutality. 

The sight sent chills down their spines.

With Jack unconscious, Aokiji ordered the Marines, who had been stationed nearby, to come over. 

They began unloading all the boxes from Jack's ship. 

Aokiji picked up one of the boxes and said, "I want to see what Doflamingo and the Beast Pirates are trading."

When Jack had previously inspected the boxes, the distance and nighttime conditions made it difficult to see the contents. 

Opening a box, Aokiji found an apple-like devil fruit with various patterns. 

"Is this... a Zoan-type Devil Fruit? But why is all of this the same pattern?" 

Every box contained these fruits, worth around ten billion berries. 

However, Aokiji didn't know these were artificial Devil Fruits, plagued with defects and less valuable than the genuine ones.

Byakuya, aware of this but not about to explain, picked up an artificial Devil Fruit and feigned surprise. 

"I didn't expect Doflamingo to come up with so many Zoan-type Devil Fruits."

The system's sudden notification almost made Byakuya drop the fruit. 

'These could be recycled?' 

There were a hundred, equivalent to five thousand World Energy Points—enough to equal the value of killing ten weevils! 

For a moment, Byakuya considered calling Sonic back and teaming up to steal all the artificial Devil Fruits.

Byakuya was filled with regret. He wouldn't have dragged Doflamingo into the mess if he had known this earlier.

Wouldn't it have been better to wipe out the Donquixote family quietly? But things had progressed to this point, and he could only take it step by step. 

Even if Doflamingo had to die, Caesar couldn't be allowed to perish. Byakuya had to get Caesar away before the Donquixote family was eradicated.

Looking at the artificial Devil Fruit in his hand, Byakuya made a decision. 

Soon, they found a larger box in the pile, immediately catching everyone's attention. 

If the small boxes contained valuable Devil Fruits, what could be inside the big one? When they opened it, everyone but Byakuya was shocked.

"Palace Mapelseciel!" Reisun exclaimed. Even Reikyu, who had been sent flying by Jack earlier, staggered over with a look of surprise. 

Though still unconscious, Palace Mapelseciel was alive and appeared to be merely in a deep sleep.

Reisun, cautious, decided to send Palace Mapelseciel back to Mariejois immediately for the best medical attention. 

Unlike Reisun and the others, who were joyful, Aokiji frowned. 

Finding Palace Mapelseciel at the trade site between the Donquixote Family and the Beast Pirates indicated that the palace was part of the deal. 

It confirmed that Doflamingo was behind the kidnapping of the Celestial Dragon.

Understanding this, Reisun's primary concern was ensuring Palace Mapelseciel's health and handling the Donquixote family wasn't his problem. 

He told Aokiji, "Admiral Aokiji, now that we've found Palace Mapelseciel, our mission is complete. We must return to Mariejois to check on the palace's condition."

Aokiji nodded. "Be careful on your way back. I'll send two ships to escort you."

"That would be perfect. Thank you, Admiral Aokiji!" Reisun responded.

After the world government personnel left, Aokiji found the unconscious Diamante among the corpses, placed Seastone cuffs on him, and threw him into the brig on the ship. 

Although Diamante couldn't be interrogated now, the day's events were enough to prove the Donquixote Family's guilt in kidnapping the Celestial Dragon. 

Dealing with the Donquixote family would be a challenging task.

Jack's enormous size made it impossible for the soldiers to move him after cuffing him with Seastone. 

Seeing this, Byakuya casually lifted Jack by one arm and threw him onto the warship's deck several hundred meters away, creating a massive hole in the deck that started flooding with seawater. 

The soldiers panicked, fearing the ship would sink.

Aokiji, watching Byakuya's actions, couldn't help but twitch his eye in exasperation. 

Byakuya, noticing Aokiji's reaction, awkwardly explained, "I meant well. It was just a little mistake."

Aokiji sighed, unsure if capturing Jack was good or bad.
