Several hours passed, and when Shun opened his eyes, it was still dark, it was 1 or 2 hours before dawn and he would go hunting again. He saw his mother constantly closing and opening her eyes. Despite having eaten meat she was still sick.

"Mother, I've rested enough, get some sleep" said Shun worriedly.

"It's okay Shun-kun I can hold out a little longer" Aiko replied with a slight smile.

"No, you must rest so you can take little Jiro to school otherwise you'll fall asleep on the way" Shun replied.

Several days ago he started to feel the presence of others, even though his eyes were closed, he could feel the presence of Aiko and Jiro who were behind him lying on the bed.

Shun sighed when he saw this, it was already a normal part of his daily life, criminals, pirates, nobles, and corrupt marines, it's the daily life in the Frauce Kingdom.

It got worse since Gold. D. Roger, the pirate king who passed away a few years ago, sent a horde of criminals to sail the seas to find his treasure.

This rabbit was very difficult to catch because of his leaps, his speed, and his reflexes. But thanks to this strange ability it gave Shun a chance to catch it.

Shun went around the tree and began to sneak up on the rabbit's back, the rabbit was still eating grass without knowing what was about to happen to it.

When the rabbit went back to eating grass, Shun acted.

Shun withdrew the knife and the rabbit fell stiffly to the ground, dead. He tried to damage it as little as possible so he used a precise thrust to hit a vital point.

This rabbit was the size of a small dog, it was weaker than the sparrow as it was not a big threat except for its horn, but it is very difficult to catch because of its jump and speed which is superior to that of the sparrow. So it is a more extravagant hunt.

The rabbit could not detect Shun, as thanks to its strange ability it discovered a few days ago it was able to act without raising suspicion of the rabbit.

In addition, he put on his body spices that tricked the rabbit's sense of smell. These spices he had had for quite some time and never had the opportunity to use them, until today.

Shun tied the rabbit, put it on his shoulder, and went back to look for his black cauldron, returning, much earlier than expected. On his way back, thanks to his skill again, he was able to detect and successfully hunt a rattlesnake, which, although not as big a game as the rabbit, could get about 300 bellys out of him.

Shun when he arrived in the wasteland quickly went to old Matsumoto's store and sold both the rabbit and the snake, making a profit of 1850 bellys, 1500 for the rabbit, and 350 for the snake. He was able to haggle the price and make a higher profit.

Matsumoto was surprised by the 2 wild animals Shun brought and congratulated him, telling him that the Goddess of Fortune was on his side.

This left him with a capital of 3,130 bellys, even if he paid the doctor, he would still have 1,130 bellys left which would be enough to survive for 2 and a half months, meaning that for 2 and a half months he would not have to go hunting and would be much calmer.

He knew that in reality, it was little money, but for his family, it was a lot, since every day he needed to hunt something to survive and in 2 days, he already had 2 months covered. It was quite a luxury for him.

While Shun was on his way to his hut, he had a bad feeling so he hurried.

Running from Matsumoto's tent to his hut, he made it in 4 minutes and quickly went inside.

Entering through the door, Shun's bad feeling came true, he saw Aiko passed out on the bed, and nowhere was his little brother Jiro.

A storm was coming.
