Experiments & Whiskey Peak

Viper was grabbing parts left and right, he took a few wires and put them into the back of the metal box he'd made, then he put the other ends of the wires into the video snail. Viper said to the video snail "Okay, now project me." the video snail projected him and he showed up on the box's screen. Viper laughed and said "Alright something more complicated..." he grabbed more wires and configured the back of the phone snail, before putting wires in his back and connecting him with the video snail, and putting the video snail inside the box, that didn't have a top and grabbed the phone on the snail and said "Hello my name is Viper." the words he just said projected themselves on the screen. Viper started laughing like a maniac "Perfect!!" Ussop looked over and saw Viper laughing like a maniac at a box with glass on the front and said "What are you doing?" Viper smiled, grabbed the phone on the snail and said "I just created the first step of what i'll need to make primitive sentience" the words showed up on the screen, Ussop had his mouth wide open "Woah! How did you do that?" Viper put down the phone and said "I created a machine to connect to the video snail's components and connected the snail to the box, I can also project whatever the snail sees on to the screen." he took out the snail and pointed it at Ussop and said "Video on." Ussop's face showed up on the screen.

Ussop was shocked "You removed the need for a second video snail!" Viper nodded and said "Yes, although there is a lot of wiring involved, so the snail can't go too far... which is a problem" Viper snapped his fingers and made another box with even more parts and wires. When he was done, he unplugged the video snail and made a little antenna, which he put right on the snail's back. Viper grabbed the box and walked out of the room.

Viper set down the box on the deck, he said "Ussop! Start the video!" Ussop appeared on the screen, Viper said "You can speak through the snail, it's still connected." Ussop on the screen grabbed the phone and started talking "Hello! This is the mighty Captain Ussop!" Viper clapped and said "Perfect!" Nami walked over and said "What's that?" Viper smirked and said "We don't have a name for it yet, Ussop show her how it works!" Ussop smirked and started singing, Nami was shocked and said "What?!" Viper said "It's one of the 'finished' components, capable of receiving video snails signals remotely without the need for another snail, I don't really have a name for it." Nami said "You're using snails right?" Viper said "Unfortunately yes." Nami said "Then how about Snail-vision? Or S.V for short?" Viper said "I guess that makes sense. Alright S.V!" he grabbed the box and returned to the lab.

He put the box down and wrote down in his book, he said "First test run success- Snail-vision or S.V for short. Now if I could somehow turn the first box into a mix of both with the ability to hold information..." he got back to work.

The ship was close to reverse mountain and Viper felt a rumble, he frowned and went to the deck, Ussop followed him. They arrived on the deck and said "What the fuck is that?!" Viper looked up and saw a massive red wall, with a considerable smaller water current in between, Nami said "THAT is reverse mountain, and WE'RE about to crash into the side of it!" Viper was shocked and Luffy jumped off the ship and blew up like a balloon, Merry bounced into him and moved on to the right path without any danger, Viper hybrid transformed and reached his tail off the ship allowing Luffy to grab on to it and Viper pulled him back on deck as the Merry sailed up the mountain.

They reached the top and started sailing down faster and faster, before they heard a extremely loud 'BUOOOOOOOOOH' Viper snapped his head around and said "Sounds like a whale." it was. Viper added "Looks like we're gonna crash" they were. Nami snapped "CAN YOU STOP TALKING AND HELP?!" Viper grumbled and hybrid transformed before shooting several wind blasts in front of the boat, slowing to boat down to a stop, the giant whale looked down at them and just swallowed the ship whole. Viper sighed "Well at least we stopped the boat." he instantly ate to deck, Nami was standing above him, with smoke coming off her fist "Idiot! You sent 17 wind blasts at a giant whale's eye!" Viper rubbed his head and said "The Merry wasn't damaged was she?" Nami snapped "NO BUT NOW WE'RE IN A WHALE!!!" and started to beat him up.

The Merry landed in the whale's stomach and the crew saw a sky with birds, Ussop said "Are we in heaven?" Viper said "No, I don't think Zoro deserves to go there." Zoro said "HEY!" Viper ignored him and said "There's an island with a guy on it over there." he pointed in a direction and the crew looked and indeed there was a guy on it.

The man gave the group an intense stare, before slowly walking to a chair while keeping eye contact. The man was silent and sat down in the chair before taking out a newspaper and reading it. Sanji snapped "Say something damnit!" The man looked up and Ussop said "If it's a fight you want, you'll get it we have cannons!" the man was quiet for 30 seconds and said "I wouldn't do that, someone might die." Sanji said "Oh yeah? And who might that be?" the man was quiet for 30 seconds before saying "Me." Sanji snapped "YOU?! YOU BASTARD PLAYING WITH ME I'LL-" Zoro cut him off and said "Relax let me handle it." he turned to the man and said "Hey old man, where are we? And who are you?" the man was silent for 30 seconds and said "It's proper manners to introduce yourself first before asking something of someone." Zoro said "Ah my bad my name is Roron-" the man said "My name is Crocus, i'm 71 years old, a gemini, and my blood type is AB. If you want to know where you are, just look around you think you're in a rat's stomach?" Nami said "I don't want to be digested! Can't we get out?" Crocus waited 30 seconds and the crew snapped "STOP DOING THAT?!" Crocus said "Can't you appreciate a good running gag? And the exit is right there." he pointed to the huge doors. The crew turned around and Viper quipped "Oh would you look at that.

The whale suddenly started shaking, Crocus sighed and said "He's smashing into the redline again..." before he jumped into the water and swam up to a small door. Crocus opened the door and two people came flying out, they landed on the deck. Viper was staring at a blue haired woman, he walked closer and grabbed her chin to get a good look at her face, Nami said "Viper what are you doing?" Viper said "She looks extremely familiar, I know I've seen her before..." the woman with blue hair started panicking, Viper snapped his fingers and said "Aren't you the pri-" the woman slapped Viper and sent him flying as she said "Don't you know it's rude to grab a lady's face like that?!" Viper got up and said "But i'm pretty sure you're th-" the man cut him off and said "Ms, Wednesday! Our mission!" the woman with blue hair said "Yeah" before she pulled out a rocket launcher and pointed it at the whale's stomach, Crocus said "I won't let you hurt Laboon!" the rockets flew in the air and Crocus jumped in front of them, causing an explosion. Luffy slammed the duo's heads together and Nami tied them up.

Outside Laboon, Viper was sitting in front of Ms. Wednesday and said "Who are you really?" Ms. Wednesday was silent, the man said "I'm Mr. 9 and we're from a local island called Whiskey peak, we only wanted the whale's meat because we had a shortage of food." Viper ignored the man and said "The person I'm thinking of doesn't come from there at all." he sighed and walked away, Nami was talking to Crocus about Laboon and Luffy went to go fight the whale, he called it a draw and drew his jolly roger on the whale's scars and told it to stop smashing into the mountain or the paint will come off. Viper smiled and found out that the two prisoners had disappeared and he found a small ball instead. He picked up the ball and said "What's this?" Crocus looked over and said "That's a log pose, compasses don't work on the grandline." Viper threw it to Nami and walked back to the ship. Crocus started explaining how to use a log pose to Nami and the two escapees came back and asked for a ride to whiskey peak, Luffy agreed and the crew set sail.

They arrived at Whiskey Peak, not too long after and were welcomed with a crowd, Nami, Zoro, and Viper we're skeptical. Viper said "You ever see people WELCOME pirates before?" they shook their heads and Zoro said "I've heard of the names of the two we captured before, they're the names an organization of bounty hunters use. I think it was called Baroque Works." Viper said "So either they are extremely friendly people, or this is a set up." Nami and Zoro both nodded and Viper sighed "Does something have to happen every island we go to?" Zoro chuckled and said "It's a pirates life." Viper chuckled and said "Aye.." and the crew got off the boat and were greeted by a man with huge curls in his hair, the man said "Welcome! I'm the mayor, we have a feast to welcome you to the grandline!" Viper whispered to Nami and Zoro "I'm around 75% sure he is the captain of Alabasta's Royal guard!" Nami and Zoro were shocked and said "Royal guard?!" Viper nodded and said "Yes, I don't know what he is doing in a bounty hunting organization though, keep an eye out." the duo nodded and followed the rest of the crew.

Viper was sitting at a table drinking with Nami and Zoro, he got up and snuck off back to the ship. He got back on board and looked around and said "Everything is still here..." he walked into each room before going into the lab and looking around, he frowned "What is there goal?" he stood in silence "Maybe they just want to kill you guys?" Viper turned around and saw a woman with black hair and a purple cowboy hat on her head, Viper said "Oh, hello! I'm Viper nice to meet you miss..." the woman opened her mouth and Viper said "Oh i'm sorry, you're about to tell me your codename?" The woman nodded and smiled and Viper said "I think they are ridiculous, i'll name you myself."

Viper continued and said "Well, Rose, I think it is a possibility that they are trying to kill us, but what is their motive? They wouldn't have known we'd show up, we had two of their agents tied up on our boats, I can assure you that there were no calls being made. I assume you are a high ranking agent?" 'Rose' nodded and Viper said "Maybe, you work for the boss and are keeping tabs on the lower agents actions?" 'Rose' was impressed and nodded "That's right I am the Boss' partner, I also deal with all the recruits and applications." Viper frowned and said "That's what I thought, but that doesn't make sense." 'Rose' tilted her head and said "Why?" Viper said "Because if you truly were what you say you are, then you would've noticed two spies in your group. Unless of course, you are a spy yourself, in which case then everything I said doesn't matter because you would already know."

'Rose' smiled and walked over to the test tubes and the container with a sword stuck through a devil fruit, she pointed at the sword and said "What is all this?" Viper cleared his throat and said "A crude attempt at forcing a weapon to 'eat' a devil fruit, it is test number 1, and I don't really have all the resources necessary to research in depth." 'Rose' was intrigued and said "Weapons that eat devil fruits? That's some dangerous research." Viper waved his hand and said "I'm a pirate, the world government already has it out for me anyway, you on the other hand, why are you not surprised?" 'Rose' said "One of the agents in our organization has a cannon that ate a devil fruit." Viper took out his book and said "Could you describe the weapon?" 'Rose' said "It was a cannon, that ate the Dog-Dog fruit model: Dachshund. The dog can transform into a regular cannon or into a cannon-dog." Viper wrote it down and said "Do you know about how it ate the fruit at all?" she shook her head and Viper asked "Have you tried to kill it?" she was confused and said "No, why?" Viper colsed the book and put it away before saying "The cannon ate the dog fruit, and gained sentience, but it is still genetically a cannon, therefore snapping it's neck will not kill it" he trailed off and mumbled "If I can capture it and melt it down, maybe I can find out how it works..." Viper smiled and said "Thank you for your information Rose, is there anything else I might be able to help you with?"

'Rose' smiled and pointed to the S.V, Viper smiled and said "Made this one myself" he grabbed the video and phone snails and said "Stay here." and left the room, 'Rose' was puzzled and looked at the S.V and the screen suddenly showed Viper's face, he picked up the phone and said "This is Snail-vision or S.V for short, basically it is a receiver for any video snails on a certain coded frequency, albeit a very simple one as, again, I don't have the resources required to build a more complex one, the range is about the size of the ship. Pretty cool huh?" 'Rose' had her mouth wide open as she said "Very." Viper smiled and walked back into the room, and put the snails down.

Viper sighed and said "Unfortunately, my primary goal as of right now is to try and make weapons that only recognize one owner, before attempting to add devil fruits to them." 'Rose' frowned and said "That's very dangerous." Viper was confused "How so?" 'Rose' said seriously "If you somehow manage to figure out how to create weapons that can recognize the owner and mass produce them, it would create havoc, people running around with more than one devil fruit maybe 3? 4?" Viper said "It's only for the crew, my research isn't my dreams, they won't mass produce." 'Rose' said "You mean YOU won't mass produce them, what if someone gets their hands on your finished research notes?" Viper mumbled "Then they would be able to produce them.." 'Rose' added "And if they had the resources necessary to produce them in massive quantities?" Viper sighed "I understand, so what am I supposed to do? Throw away everything I've been working on for fear that someone would destroy the world with my research? I don't think Vegapunk would give up like that." 'Rose' said "He wouldn't, but you're not Vegapunk. You don't have the protection of the World Government do you?" Viper shook his head, and she continued "Do you think you can protect your notes from people trying to take it?" Viper was silent.

'Rose' said "Do what you want but just remember you are playing with fire way too hot for you to handle." as she walked towards the door, she stopped before she left and said "My name is Robin." and she disappeared, leaving Viper in the lab. He looked around and said "I won't let it get taken away, I'll keep what I need and destroy the research." he sighed and said to himself "I really need to find a way and fast, I won't let them down." as he clenched his fist.

Viper heard an explosion and walked out onto the deck, and saw that everything was fine, he let out a breath of relief and saw the rest of the crew running towards the ship. Viper waved and said "Everything is fine here!" the crew got on the ship and Viper noticed the blue haired woman was with them, he was confused and Nami said "She's the princess of Alabasta" she explained the situation and Viper said "I knew it, welcome aboard Vivi." before he said "There was a woman on board before she said she was the boss' partner, but she left I didn-" he heard Robin's voice cut him off "I'm still here Viper." Viper turned around and said "Hey, I thought you left." Robin smiled and Nami said "So mind telling me why you seem to be friend's with Crocodile's partner?" Viper said "Well she doesn't seem like a bad person, she already knew Vivi, and the royal guard captain were spies, and she told me that one of their agents had a cannon that ate a dog fruit, so I just figured she was a good person.." Nami started strangling him and said "You told her about your science stuff?!" Viper choked out "She was genuinely curious!" Nami started shaking him and Robin said "It's true I was interested, anyway hello princess, how are you?" Vivi grit her teeth and said "Ms. All Sunday!" Nami stopped choking Viper and he said "That's your codename? I think Rose is much better." Robin nodded and said "I like it too." Nami punched Viper in the head and said "Stop having friendly conversation!" Robin chuckled and said "As you know, I am Crocodile's partner, and I let the princess find out Crocodile's plans, I also blew up the ship Igaram was on." Viper frowned and said "But y-" a hand grew from the floor and clamped over his mouth.

Vivi seethed "It was you?!" Robin nodded and said "I was supposed to kill you all, but you're going to little garden, so you're dead anyway." she threw a log pose at Luffy and said "This log pose will bring you straight to Alabasta." Vivi said "It could be a trap!" Viper furrowed his brows and locked eyes with Robin, she gave him a look and he tilted his head.

Luffy crushed that log pose and said "I'm the one who decides where we go, not you." Robin was surprised and hopped of the railing on to a turtle and said "Very well." before the turtle swam away, before she left a mouth popped up on Vipers shoulder and said "Don't tell them who I am, consider it repayment for me giving you information." Viper was confused and said "Fine." he turned around and Luffy said "Let's go to Little garden!" and the crew got into action. When they were out at sea, Viper went back to the lab and sat down.

He said "We don't need automation on the weapons.. I need to understand the fruits better." He moved the boxes and snails out of the way and grabbed a bunch of test tubes and the tree fruit. He really needed that reality check from Robin, he strangely felt that he was about to repeat a mistake he had made before, but he couldn't remember what it was, he shook his head and decided to forget about it, he wouldn't make any mistakes, the crew will get stronger. Viper grabbed the devil fruit and cut it into a bunch of pieces, noticing that the swirls continued on the inside of the fruits as well, Viper frowned and said "Where is the core?" the tree fruit was an apple, he assumed there should be a core, but strangely found none.

Viper put all the fruit pieces and diced them so that they were extremely small pieces before putting them in a big mortar and smashing the fruit to paste with a pestle. What came out was a paste, Viper frowned he needed juice not paste, he kept grinding, sqiushing, and twisting while pouring any juices into a glass beaker. He managed to turn the whole fruit into juice and cleaned out the mortar with a cloth before he looked at the beaker, it was filled with a green juice. Ussop walked in and said "What's that?" Viper said "Devil fruit in juice form, how is Nami's weapon coming along?" Ussop said "Great actually, I managed to replace the cloud generator with temperature bubbles instead. I also added party functions." Viper was about to nod when he head party functions, he sighed and said "Party functions? This IS a weapon right?" Ussop nodded and said "Should I take them out?" Viper nodded and said "By the way do you have a glove or something?" Ussop handed him one of his extra gloves, and Viper threw it into the devil fruit juice and watched as it soaked up all the juice.

Viper stood up and grabbed the still wet glove, he dried it off with a towel and put it on and walked out on to the deck. Viper came on to the deck and dragged a barrel along, before he put his glove covered hand on the barrel, nothing happened. Viper frowned and said "Tree!" the glove vibrated a little and a small tree grew from the top of the barrel, Viper was ecstatic and started laughing, before the glove fell apart and exploded. Viper abruptly stopped and looked at the glove pieces on the deck and sighed, Ussop followed him out and said "Did it work?" Viper lifted the pieces of the glove and pointed to the small tree on the barrel and said "It did, kind of. Seems like the vessel wasn't strong enough though, or maybe the method wasn't correct. I assume they aren't all one time uses." Nami came over and said "What's that?" Viper said "A glove that just grew a tree out of the barrel, but it fell apart and exploded after one use and it wasn't a very powerful usage at that." Nami said "You got it into an object that fast?!" Viper nodded and said "I just turned it into juice and used a material that absorbed liquids easily, I did figure out that there is some form of sentience though." Viper mumbled to himself as he walked back into the lab.

Viper opened the box of fruits only to find that none of the fruits turned into the tree fruit, he sighed and closed the box before looking at the sword. He walked up and took the sword out of the container and slid the devil fruit off of it, he looked at the spot where the devil fruit was and noticed there was slight swirls on the sword. Viper made the fruit into juice again and poured it into the container and added fresh water, as he tossed the sword in and sat down to read.

Days passed and Viper was sleeping on a chair on the deck. Ussop came and shook Viper awake and said "There's a monkey in the container!" Viper said "Why would there be a mon- WHAT A MONKEY ARE YOU SURE?!" Ussop nodded and Viper ran into the lab. He opened the door and saw a small monkey sitting in the container, Viper picked up the monkey and brought it on the deck. He put the monkey down very gently and said "Can you transform for me?" the monkey hesitated and transformed into a sword, the sword was different than before, the guard looked like two monkey ears and the hilt looked like a monkey tail. Viper picked the sword up and swung it around, he said "Go hybrid." the blade turned into a monkey upper half, Viper poked his body and said "Very strange, can you sustain your full transformation forever?" the monkey nodded and turned back into a monkey, Sanji came over and said "Where did you get that monkey?" the monkey hopped on Viper's shoulder and shook his fist at Sanji, Viper chuckled and said "Sword form." the monkey turned into a sword and fell into Viper's hand, Sanji was beyond shocked and screamed "WHAT?!" Viper chuckled and said "Hybrid" the blade turned into half a monkey and he stuck out his tongue at Sanji, the rest of the crew and Vivi came to the deck and saw the half monkey half sword and they were shocked too.

Viper made the monkey transform back into a monkey and it sat on his shoulder. Viper said "It worked!" the monkey suddenly fell off his shoulder and turned back into a sword before shattering to pieces on the floor, Viper froze and sighed "It's still a work in progress." before picking up the sword pieces and throwing them into the ocean, Ussop patted his shoulders and said "You're going in the right direction" Viper said "I hope so." before walking back to the lab, leaving the rest of the group processing what they just saw. The ship slowly approached Little Garden.
