(Chapter 40) Douglas Bullet

{North Blue: Gulzburg shores}

Bullet is a 9-year-old that was being forced to become a child soldier for his home country Gulzburg

They have been at war against the Germa Kingdom for the past 6 years and ever since his parents were drafted he had nothing to lose anymore so he took his father's old fishing boat and decided to leave the kingdom

'Hey, Maria are you sure you're not coming with me?' Asked the young Douglas as he tied the rope of his sail

His one and only friend just shook her head as she smiled, 'Yes I'm sure Douglas just be careful, I know your father taught you how to navigate but I'm still worried you never know when a freak storm will occur'

The girl had beautiful brunette hair and was a few years older than he was, She was around 5'4 and wore a small yellow dress that went down to her knees

Douglas just sighed before smiling as he jumped down from the ship and embraced his only friend with a hug 'I guess this is it'

The brunette nodded as a sad smile crossed her face and then tears started forming as she wiped them away, 'I know this is selfish but... Could you please stay her sentence was interpreted by a quick peck to the cheek as the young Douglas got back on board

'This isn't the end! I'll see you again in a few years when I get strong enough but till then... It's just the start' He said before cutting the rope that held on the ship as he raised the sail

The girl smiled as tears run freely down her cheek as she waved to the disappearing figure of her old friend, The boy waved back before looking out towards the endless sea in front of him as he took in a deep breath of air

"Now begins the journey"

Five days into his voyage and he was already desperate, His food had run out last night and he recognized the signs of an incoming storm

He wasn't sure where the currents have taken him as his compass had started going around in circles as if it was jammed

A few hour's later the storm hit his ship hard as giant waves as big as the mountains of his home island were all around him as his small fishing ship held on and rode the waves

He could hear his sails ripping and lightning all around, Soon he heard the sounds of a thunder strike land on the top of the ship as his sails caught on fire while the rest of the ship started burning as well

He soon decided to quickly take all the important supplies that he had left and dump them into the rowboat he had for this occasion as the flames began coming ever so closer to him

He cut the rope loose that held the small lifeboat to his father's ship before falling down into the water as the boat almost flipped over

He turned around only to see his boat sinking as a sigh came out of his mouth, 'This journey became a lot more unforgiving than I'd imagined'

2 Days have passed since his ship sunk, His ration's we're nonexistent at this point, and Only he and a single bottle of water were on the unforgiving sea

He tried to stretch the remaining supplies he had for as long as he could but at last his last drop was gone

He soon threw the bottle offboard before sighing in disappointment, 'I'd imagine that becoming a child soldier would be better than this' He murmured before sitting upright

He had noticed that the waters around his have settled a lot as waves were nowhere to be seen, He had read about this place in books but never actually thought it existed 'The calm belt huh, So the old man's story about the Pirates graveyard is real'

Soon a mad grin crossed his face as he stood up, 'That settles it, I'll become a Feared Sailor and conquer this unforgiving death trap of an ocean!' Soon a blue wave of energy was released

His grin soon turned into a look of horror as he felt something big slide against the bottom of his boat as he looked down only to see the visage of a large creature under him

Soon something large started emerging out of the bottom of the ship as his eyes narrowed at the large reptilian-looking beast in front of him

'So the is a sea king? Their bigger than I imagined them' His look of horror turned into one of contempt

"If I would go down today I would rather go down fighting than laying down and becoming free fish food" Soon a large blast of blue energy came forth from his body

He felt that he was going to fall back into unconsciousness anytime soon so he grinned before his body fell slack as the large creature retreated back into the sea but accidentally destroying the front of the ship with it's massive tail

The only thing the boy could hear before falling into the sweet arms of sleep was the sound of someone swimming towards him as he finally closed his eyes

{North Blue: Oro-Jackson}

Ryu sat next to the sleeping boy and he looked him up and down, He looked better than they first found, As his cheeks weren't as dampened as they were before

He soon noticed the boy was sturring as he stood up and went to Crocusus, 'Crocus-san our guest seems to be waking up' Said Ryu as the medic sighed cracking his back before following the kid

They soon entered the room to see the boy had opened his eyes and was looking around, 'Good to see that your awake' said the doctor as he sat down next to him

The boy's eyes turned to see the two people who walked into the room as he narrowed his eyes 'Who are you, people?'

The middle-aged doctor just raised an eyebrow before replying 'Were the Roger-Pirates and you're currently onboard the Oro-Jackson, But the real question is how did you get yourself all the way to the calm belt'

The bot blinked a few times before recalling the past week as he scratched the back of his head, 'Well my ship kind of sank in the middle of a storm so I had to use the raft to escape the burning mess, which reminds me what happened to it?'

The boy next to the doctor spoke up before the man could, 'It sunk to the bottom of the sea, If it wasn't for Gaban and Roger-san you would have suffered the same fate' The older boy's eyes widened hearing this before he smiled

'Well I should thank those two, Any idea where I could find them' The Younger boy nodded before hearing the sounds of knocking at the doorway as a black-haired young man followed by two others entered the room

'Good to see your awake brat, that was a pretty weird predicament you were in back there' Said the straw hat-wearing man
