Rachel's past

Lucas tried to look as confused as possible and nodded his head signalling her to continue.

Lucas: Go on, I'm all ears.

Bella sighed and sat on the chair facing Rachel.

Bella: On one night four years ago, I received a call from my teacher from orphanage. She had some urgent work at orphanage so she needed someone to take care of a sick child, but no one was available. That is why she reached out for me.

I also agreed and got to the hospital. Seeing the child for the first time broke my heart. She was lying on the bed with machines attached to her. I got told she was very weak from her birth.

At first I didn't thought of adopting her. But when I took care of her whole night, I realised that she was happy when I play with her. You know, she can't sleep because of discomfort, so I played with her in my arms and she slept hugging me.

When I was going to leave the other day, she started crying. There I realised that she wants me to take care of her. She choosed me as her mother. Usually parents choose their adoptive child but in my case she choosed me. Strange right?

During these years, she made me feel real love. She is my only family.....So that's all from my side.

Bella turned to him and he saw tears flowing down her cheeks.He quickly rushed and gave her tissues. She wiped her tears and thanked him.

Bella: Thank you for being with me today.

Lucas: It's fine. I'm worried about her too.

They both looked at her and the doctor entered soon after. He started checking her.

Lucas: If there is nothing else, I shall leave now. I will again come to visit her tomorrow when she wakes up. Oh..by the way, here is the prescription, it has do's and don'ts which need to be followed.

She nodded taking the paper and he left the room. The doctor finished checking her and faced Bella.

Doctor: Her condition is stable now. Most probably she will wake up after 2 more hours.

Bella: Thank you doctor.

He nodded and turned to leave. But he again stopped and said.

Doctor: By the way, her father is really diligent. That young man wrote all the do's and don'ts which I told him. He looked like he was attending a lecture.

He laughed and left from there.

Bella: Of course...he is worried about her.

She sat on the chair and read all the instructions carefully.

Meanwhile, Lucas decided to meet Mark since he is already in the hospital. He stopped at the door when he heard some voices. Someone was giggling.

Mark: Are you sure, you wanted to be a nurse? Because I think you are beautiful enough to be a model.

The nurse smiled at his words while she continued to change his bandage.
