Chapter 2

As david and mary agree to work together to stop the monster from killing any other children they come up with a idea to work together to discuss ways to find out where every child lives in this village so they can pinpoint it route to the next victim before he gets kill by the shtriga they go to the hospital they gather every file on every child that haven't been attack yet as they figure out that the attacks pattern are all coming from middle side of the village they head out to visit the next children family and ask them to keep their child well protected today at night because the shtriga going to make their son it next victim on the list as the mother gasp in fear they beg for help from the mayor and david to keep there son we'll protected as they leave they say they will be keeping an eye on their son from a far and charged in if they see the shtriga try to break into the house as the parent's feel a bit at ease they thank the mayor and david for doing everything in their power for trying to protect their son from the monster attack as they leave mary ask david if he's hungry at the moment.

As david tries to leave his belly start to growl Mary smiles from behind him saying if he wants she can show him to the best restaurant of this village that would leave him satisfied he hears this turning around slowly with huge smile on his face he takes her offer of going to the best restaurant to eat while they wait until it turns nightime as they walk together david ask what made her become the mayor of this village was it her parents or the villagers decisions to let her rule mary sighs saying that in the beggining the mayor before her was a kind old man who treated everyone with respect no matter your background and who wanted the village to prosper to make it a place for everyone thru out the land's so people will visit and become well acquaintance with it david says that mayor had a good idea with opening the village to other's he sounded like someone who had a big dream and he respects him for not giving up on it mary look at him making david feel a bit uncomfortable.

Telling mary to stop looking at him she says that she wish that her grandpa was still alive he would've like to talk to him more about the expanding the village david just smiles saying that he is talking to him right now thru her eye's as they walk further nore to the best restaurant together mary thanks him for making her day and helping her save the children's life david just pats her in the top of her head softly telling her to never give up being a good mayor like herself and to protect the village that her grandpa believed in as they arrive at the restaurant location mary stops in front of it turning to look at david saying it named is vanillo an is known for having the best ice cream in this entire kingdom as david hears this he makes a smile on his face telling mary what they waiting for they should head inside while they have time as they both head in taking a table for two they get comfortable and start ordering drinks for themselves mary gets a cup of water while he get dr pepper as the waitress bring in their drinks he ask if they are ready to order or they need more time mary says she ready david look once more at the menu deciding what to order.

As he finally decides what to get he ask mary if she has enough money incase he orders alot out the menu mary gets a bit worry as she hear what he said about ordering alot and begin to worry that she doesn't have enough money but david just smiles saying that he's gonna pay for both their meals as he order everything on the menu he tell the waiter that for making him take alot of his time he gives him a bag full of gold coins saying that should be good enough for a decent tip the waiters smiles saying that with this much money he can go to college and buy his mom a better home for her to live in as he takes the menu leaving them alone david ask if she has ever gotten in a real fight before mary turns beet red from embarrassment saying that this is her first time fighting that's not human david tell her that if she wants he can do the whole job by himself so she won't dirty her hand.

Mary stands up from her table looking straight at david with only determination she tell him that as mayor of this village it is her duty to help and protect everyone in the village like their part of her family no matter what she can't back down from this fight she taking him whether he like it or not david looks amused for a moment raising his drink towards her saying that she got guts and hopes to work more together in the future as they clink their drinks together they enjoy their meal and try out the best ice cream as they about to leave leaving a good tip for the waiter leaving the restaurant looking up at the sky realizing it about to turn dark so they head out to the kid home to keep an eye out for them as they stake out the family they try to keep their presence hidden watching for anything weird to happen after staking out for many hours david hears footsteps coming from the target home as he wakes up mary he tell her that the shtriga is making her move.

As they watch what shtriga is planning to enter the home without breaking in or making any noice as they see that the monster is unlocking the lock in the child window so he can open it and enter his room as they both sneak behind him making sure that the shtriga don't notice them as they see it enter the room david and mary discuss quietly that the only way it can die permanently is for it to be in feeding state so they have to let it feed on the child for a bit or they won't be able to kill it while it knows they there mary gets mad at the idea of using the child as bait.
